Worth the price. FRESH. Need I say more? I ordered a garlic ebi and ahi set and the flavor was so good. Toasted to perfection and not too much mayo.

Fresh fish in Waipahu! Yes, this is the same restaurant as the Kaka'ako location. When in Waipahu, people can choose between Tanioka's (poke and local grinds) or Hou Fish Market (more on sushi rolls/party trays and sashimi). What I think is great about this spot is that Waipahu, Kunia, Ewa, and Ho'opili residents can enjoy quick, fresh sushi without having to hop on the H-1. Hou isn't a grab and go, nor a fancy sit down restaurant, but fast casual sushi. Hou serves boba teas as well, and they're not too bad (I'm a boba snob, so that says something!)I've stopped by here for lunch with my husband several times after church and almost all the time, we'd run into church friends! I've also ordered a mixed sushi platter when hosting my uncle from out of town. Hubby and I have also eaten here as my first sushi meal after a Japan trip when I was still having Japan withdrawals. The sushi satisfied my craving! I've taken pictures of Hou's sushi, but they're scattered all over my camera roll.Overall, the island has great sushi compared to the mainland and a lot of competition. So glad sushi chefs now serve Waipahu and aren't just concentrated in town. Hou Fish Market itself is a solid 4 stars (really, lots of sushi competition and you really have to stand out), but the fact that fresh sushi is available in Waipahu earns that 5th star!

Wow, what a great place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We've requested substituting certain fish items and they didn't hesitate to do so.I've visited here several times recently and I got to say this place is very consistently fresh with great flavor. We also tried their Udon noodles and again very firm and tasty. I have tried almost everything on the menu and no complaints on my end.So now it's our regular go to fish market. The market has modern a look and very clean.

Went to try this place for the first time. This place took over a precious boba spot in Waipahu. The poke was fresh, and seasoned okay. The presentation was done nicely. & looks like they offer boba drinks as well. The prices are reasonable for the portion. It filled me up. They give you complimentary water even if you don't ask for it when you dine in, which is really sweet. It's a pretty clean place. There is quite a bit of parking available too, even with the amount of eateries nearby. I would like to come again to try the different bowls/rolls and give this place an updated rating.

OHHHH EMMM GEEEE! Why have we waited so long to try this place?!! Bomb sushi for a takeout joint. Flavor and freshness is real here, guys!! Very impressive. My wife is a diehard UNI & IKURA lover and she was melting in her seat!! Lol! Should I be concerned?!!! HahaBefore placing our order online, we called Hou Fish Market to check on the availability and quality of their Uni. The young lady who answered was helpful in explaining the different ways they serve Uni, and also shared that it's from Japan. Definitely surprised about that and I'm so glad it didn't disappoint! 10/10 says the wife :)Same goes for the Ikura! She was loving the Ikura in the donburi, as well as the Ikura Nigiri. I'm surprised she stayed in her seat from all the melting body motions. Hahaha!! Aisus! In total, here's what we got:- Uni & Ikura Don (mini)- Maguro Nigiri- Salmon Nigiri - Masago Nigiri- Garlic Ebi - Garlic Salmon- Cali Maki w/Masago- Ebi Nigiri- Hamachi Nigiri Total: $74.14 All in all, this place was a hit. Highly recommend you give them a try! SIDE NOTE: Inside the dining area are a bunch of small tables. The place was wreaking of Clorox tho, so I'm glad we didn't dine in. Maybe something for the staff to consider as the smell of Clorox during a meal is extremely off putting.

Located in Waipahu went there because we had reservations at the sushi spot in Aiea, I confirmed the reservation 2 times letting them know I had a dog at first I asked them if pets are allowed and the girl that answered said yes and I called that day to confirm because we had a Birthday dinner and she again said yes. After getting there they were very rude and then telling us tie the dog outside if we want to dine in or we could take out the food. Then I tell the lady why didn't you just say no pets allowed we could have gone elsewhere, which now she says my English not good?Well we left and good thing we found Hou Fish Market which was very good and reasonable, the quality and freshness was very good and tasty! They had lots of seats inside and the staff were very friendly and lots of parking shared by other restaurants and shops. The Hamachi Kama was tasty and moist and salted just right and the spicy tuna was delicious.Everyone enjoyed their meal!

The location of where this restaurant is does not do its justice. The area seems a bit rundown and the store next door out of business. We were a little skeptical coming here but the food came out very good! The fish is very fresh and everything was so delicious! I think it's one of the best sushi/poke place we have had and this is coming from someone who has had her fair share of raw seafood! Will definitely be back!

Greeted as soon as we walked thru the door! We weren't pressured to hurry & order as we perused the menu. Clean, quaint. 4 tables with 4 chairs, 6 hi-tops for 2 people each. Sushi! Poke bowls! Boba! This place was a hit for all of my family members. We opted to eat in & I was pleasantly surprised to have the food delivered to us rather than being called up with a number system. The gal included water for those of us that didn't order a milk tea. I wasn't expecting that either! Food was fresh & tasty, very filling. Reasonable prices! Milk tea was refreshing! We'll be back! Nice to have choices in our hood! They do online orders too! I'll definitely be doing some online orders for my husband to pick up on the way home!
