**THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE - A COMPLETE SCAM** If you value your time, money, and sanity, **DO NOT STAY AT HOTEL LA CROIX.** This place is an absolute joke from top to bottom, run by a team of **clueless, incompetent staff** who have no business working in hospitality. ### **A DISASTER FROM CHECK-IN** It took **AN HOUR** just to check in from one of the teenage girls who I didn't get the name of. That should've been the first red flag. But it only got worse. We had to move rooms **FOUR TIMES** because this place **can't get anything right.** **First room?** **ALREADY OCCUPIED.** Imagine walking in on someone's belongings everywhere. What if they had been naked? Or worse? This is a MAJOR security issue. And what did we get? A pathetic "sorry" from **Kaya**, one of the two **teenage-level IQ** front desk girls who I'm going to call **Dumb & Dumber.** Honestly, this should be a **fireable offense.** **Second room?** **LEAKING FRIDGE.** Back down to the front desk we go. This time, **Kansas**, the so-called manager, gets involved and throws us a **laughable** discount--dropping valet from $45 to $38 (as if that makes up for their complete incompetence) and comping **ONE NIGHT** of the resort fee. Oh, and an "upgrade" to a **two-balcony room.** ### **THE USELESS "UPGRADE" & MORE ROOM CHANGES** This "upgraded" room? **A joke.** One of the balconies was **literally useless**, stuck in front of the door with **no furniture.** The **only** difference was a **small Keurig and a red fridge.** But we were exhausted and tried to make it work--until we realized **the AC didn't work.** We kept the thermostat at **61 degrees for TWO DAYS** and the room stayed a stuffy **70 degrees.** So once again, we asked to move. **Kansas, being the unhelpful tool that he is, tried to stop us from switching rooms.** He even sent maintenance up to "confirm" if the AC was broken. The maintenance guy--who, by the way, was **more competent and sympathetic than Kansas**--checked in **two minutes** and said, **yeah, it's hot in here.** No kidding. Then we moved--**again.** Not even to the same upgraded room, but at this point, we just wanted a room that worked. ### **MYSTERIOUS CHARGES & MORE SCAMS** Just as we thought the nightmare was over, we checked the bank account and saw **mysterious charges:** - **$244.77** - **$379.08** - **$675.88** FOR WHAT?! We **already paid for our stay online.** When we confronted Kansas, his first excuse was **blaming Expedia.** But after **another** hour-long battle, he was suddenly able to **waive all the charges.** **HOW CONVENIENT.** Valet fees started at **$45, then $38, then $22, then suddenly FREE.** Resort fees? First, **one night waived, then half, then all of it.** Was Kansas **pulling numbers out of his ass?** This place is a scam, plain and simple. And after all that? Their idea of an apology was a **box of chocolate macadamia nuts.** **Are you kidding me?** ### **OTHER ISSUES BECAUSE WHY NOT?** - **Dumb & Dumber (Kaya included) wouldn't even make eye contact with us** after their constant screw-ups. Yeah, I'd be embarrassed too if I were that useless. - **Beach towels aren't included.** You have to **PAY EXTRA.** What the hell are the resort fees even for?! - The final room still had issues: **dirty sugar packets, filthy floors that turned our feet BLACK, and a toilet that sounded like a jet engine and needed a double pump to fully flush.** ### **THE ONLY GOOD THINGS?** - **Valet was actually good.** The valet guys were the ONLY competent workers at this hotel. - **Baby Jean is a saint.** The one and only staff member who actually cared about making things right. She showed us multiple rooms, helped us move, and tried to salvage this disaster of a stay. Give this girl a raise and fire everyone else. ### **FINAL VERDICT: NEVER STAY HERE. EVER.** Hotel La Croix is a **SCAM.** The management is **useless,** the front desk is run by **Dumb & Dumber**, the rooms are broken, the AC doesn't work, and they will **randomly charge your credit card hundreds of dollars** just to see if you'll notice. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. **Avoid this place at all costs.**

Pros: 1. Hotel is at the entrance of Waikiki allowing you to walk to anywhere you would like. 2. Good amount of restaurants near by are open late so good is always accessible. 3. AC worked.Cons: 1. Hotel is nothing like the photos I've seen on their website.2. The painting on the walls look like rushed and looked worse than typical residence. 3. There are no phones available in rooms to request room service. 4. Television is broken and was not fixed even after requesting service. 5. The Wi-Fi is completely not working and it's also unsecured so I wouldn't trust using it even if it was working. 6. Possibly one of the worst hotel beds I have used in hotels. 7. The room smells like Sauna no matter what we did. I believe this was AC, wasn't the most pleasant smell 8. The walls are very very thin. I could hear even the small conversations happening next room. 9. Their towels are extremely old and looked stained / yellow-ish. 10. The room service KICKED US OUT of our room to clean. (To add context, we were getting ready to head out for the day. This was around 7:45 - 8:00 AM. The room cleaning lady came to clean; and we said we won't be leaving for at least another 15 more minutes. She comes back but we haven't left yet as we were still getting ready. We asked her to come back later on and she got mad saying we are the only room that she didn't clean. So, we decided to just leave).Extra: Parking is $45/night on top of your hotel fee.Extra 2: they charge you $200 deposit on arrival.

If you're looking for a 2 maybe three star spot near the strip that's what you get here and the price is reasonable. Wasn't a fan of the smell of the hotel or the sand tracked into my room upon arrival. It's decent if you can get over that part.

The photos on the website are entirely falsified and misrepresenting of what is actually happening in the hotel. It's a disaster; our door handle literally fell off one morning as we left our room, the shower water does not get hot, front desk staff told us it's the best they have, the ac broke and was eventually fixed but it was so hot until then, the road noise was absurd, the amount of sirens disrupted sleep for 5 nights, there is no jacuzzi, no microwave in our room, incredibly loud, dirty as all get out and the shower didn't drain, it was a pool of dirty water as you shower. Only positive was front desk staff were awesome, would not stay again for free.

Positive first, All staff was friendly and helpful with info. The bed was comfortable and seemed clean.Location of hotel is pretty good. The cons:LOTS of sub-par "renovations" visual. The overall condition of room items/furniture was pretty nasty. Lampshade dust for years, furniture old and musty smelling and looking. The parking garage is so tight, we could not even get the convertible jeep in without closing the top.The balcony railing was partially missing and VERY unstable.

We loved our stay at hotel la Croix! This hotel offers a unique location right next to many stores and shops in Waikiki and short walking distance to the beach! It is also very close to many bus stops and has its own ABC store. We enjoyed the balcony, pool, and excellent service this hotel provides. We definitely would choose to stay here again!

Hotel La Croix is an awesome locally owned hotel. About a 15 min walk from the beach which we didn't mind cuz you walk through a beautiful park to get there & the hotels directly in the beach are also more expensive with smaller sq footage. It's a mix between modern and boutique styled. Our room was the "Gold" Double Balcony with a tub and Park/Ocean View. The room type allowed access to the Monkeypod Lounge which I'm now realizing we forgot to go to . We had CUTE Swan Towels and flower petals on the bed to celebrate our anniversary. Complimentary! Optional reminder of daily housekeeping. The ABC store downstairs had great options for our days we were out all day and needed to pack goodies with us; a one stop shop! The Hotel concierge also had beach rental stuff available for the low! Super close, maybe a block or two from a street of late night bites, and bars. Gym, Laundry, and Ice Machines all available if needed! Microwave is downstairs, only negative I have.Valet was great too; I think $40 per night, but it beats Ubers everywhere, the guys downstairs were efficient and had GREAT energy! Special Highlights: KAYA AND RONNIE ARE ELITE! Kaya checked us in after a 14hr flight seamlessly, and got us squared away with all details. Kaya told us about local nightlife and Ronnie told us about an awesome Karaoke Spot not too far from the hotel as well as the preferred flea markets on our way out. We had a 4night stay and now we gotta come back cuz everything was surreal and dare I say it, perfect! Mahalo!!! We'll be back!

Nothing like the pictures online. Rooms are old not at all like the pictures. Online it says swim up bar that's a lie. U have to get out of the pool and walk to the bar. Add: we were at the pool and which is outside etc it was 7pm and we were told to please quiet down that they received a noise complaint! Like wtf we are outside and weren't even being loud. Also my son was gf had her arms and legs around my son in the pool and they were told no playing in the pool lmao seriously!!! Ohhhh but wait the best part. It says no swimming if you're under the influence of alcohol yet there's a bar in the pool area! Make it make sense!
