This bake shop is such a treat for me and my friends. We love the quality and beauty of all their desserts.This is where we grab our birthday cakes or "just because" the ladies are having a get-together.My friend's favorite is the purple sweet potato cake. Mango cake is also a contender.The service is fast.The place is clean and just makes you want to buy everything out there on their display.

It's always clean in there...I like that. Staff definitely lacking in the personality department. Customer service is not a priority...Pastries are pretty too look at. I get the savory things. Pau Hana time, lucky if got savory things so we just go to check. The spam bun is pretty good. I think the Nori is a nice wannabe musubi touch. It works. I am not sure if the hard thing inside is cheese or egg. It's weird. FYI - they don't have plastic knives there...so don't ask b/c they look at you like you're stupid for asking even if there is a container labeled "knives."

Swung by Honu Bakery in the Kam Shopping Center. Adorable decorated cupcakes adorned the window looking into the bakery. Picked up the famous Honu (turtle) bread to share with family. 4/5 stars. Also picked up a slice of the strawberry shortcake and a meringue pie. The strawberry shortcake was unremarkable. Strawberries did not taste fresh. Whipped frosting and filling were plain tasting. Unfortunately, this is not a rebuy item. 2/5 stars. The meringue pie is light and more like a flaky crust type pastry. 3/5 stars. I decided not to purchase the decorated cupcakes because of the amount of frosting. I forgot to take pictures of the cupcakes. The cupcakes are beautiful for birthday celebrations and special occasions! Service here is fast and friendly here.

Super cute cakes that are light and delicious. Whether you need a last minute cake or just need a mid day cupcake. Honu Bakery is the spot if you're in the Kalihi/Kamehameha area. Service is quick around 11am. But I wouldn't be surprised if they're busy earlier or later in the day. Definitely ordering more cupcakes from here. Cake prices are relatively reasonable. One of the smaller cakes that's about $30ish fed an office of 14.

Was looking for dessert in the area in the afternoon. Found this bakery. It was not crowded. It's not really a place where you dine in but there was a spot at the counter where few stools were present and one could eat. Got the blueberry cheesecake. Since it's a Japanese style cheesecake, its base was chiffon. It was light, not that sweet, unlike most cheesecakes we are used to. Not a fan of these nondense cheesecakes. Would give it a 3/5.

First time visiting this place and liked their pastries and cakes! I got a chocolate croissant it was $3.49? I think compared to brug's I think it was slightly bigger but smaller than liliha bakery's. Bread is a bit denser than the other two but still yummy. Especially loved their sweet potato cake, not that sweet!

I recently found myself near Honu Bakery and decided to see what the buzz was about. Upon entering, I was greeted by a variety of aesthetically pleasing baked goods, from cakes to cupcakes, much like many trendy bakeries popping up around Honolulu.One item particularly caught my eye--a cookies and cream cupcake priced at $4.65. I decided to give it a try. The cupcake was certainly beautiful, but the taste test was less impressive. When I dug in with my spoon, the texture suggested that the cupcake might have been previously frozen. The cake itself was gummy and chewy, and the frosting seemed as though it had been sitting out for a while.While I've experienced fresher cupcakes elsewhere, this one didn't quite meet my expectations, especially for the price. Honu Bakery might still be worth a visit if you're curious about their offerings, but based on this experience, I might hesitate before returning.

I was shopping in Kam Shopping Center when I passed the big windows of this bakery. I stopped to admire all of the beautiful cupcakes through the window. I decided I'd go in and check out the baked goods to see if anything caught my eye. There were many different pastries but I ended up choosing the turtle bread for my grandma, pumpkin manju, and marbled bread. Everything was a little on the pricey side but the bakery looked so nice and fancy. My grandma enjoyed the turtle bread and pumpkin manju. She said it wasn't too sweet which you know, is the perfect compliment from an old asian woman! I had the marbled bread and it was delicious! It wasn't too sweet which is probably why I finished it that same day! If I'm in the area, I'll be back to try their other baked goods!

I rarely come to Kam shopping centre. Since I was meeting my friend for lunch at Teishoku I passed by Honu and my eyes literally stuck to the door while my body kept on walking. Lol . I've tasted their turtle numerous times from their bakery in king street but never came to their bakery shop here. I went in and the smell of sugar is heavenly. The inside is well lit and full of yummy goodness! Will definitely make an effort to get some of custard when I'm in town.

Owner is rather young..must have worked really hard to have such a fine bakery! This strawberry shortcake is fluffy, light sweet..just how I like it. What a treat this will be! I often buy their treats for gifts because it is so beautiful and delish! The strawberry shortcake and Halekulani coconut cake is MY fave bday cake! Thank you for your hard work and talent.
