I'm looking for that kind a speaker

I was doing a home improvement project which required me to move an electronic device closer to the entertainment center. Unfortunately I needed to extend the Ethernet cable to do so. So out I went to get the hardware to achieve that goal. I thought I should just order it on Amazon but I didn't need 5 of them. I came here looking for the RJ45 coupler and got a phone coupler instead. It's a basic hardware that you'd think would be a fairly routine request. Well, I had to come back for an exchange as I received the wrong coupler. I would give them a four star review for better service but alas they failed in that department. When I came here to exchange the device the worker was heading out even though their hours show as being open until 4 pm. I got here during my lunch break between noon and 1 pm. I guess she was headed out for her lunch break. Although I appreciate that she reluctantly turned back to assist me, she was obviously very unhappy to have to go back in and reopen shop.So after I analyzed the whole thing I took off one star for service and one star for price. It's just basically a piece of plastic with connectors. I could have ordered the hardware basically for about two bucks each on Amazon. As you can see in the photo they listed this particular item for about six bucks. That's three times the price that Amazon prices these things for and that includes shipping!Another thing about this place is that there are only two parking stalls to this place. On-street parking is hard to find and the place is basically hidden amongst the other warehouses. It is actually inside of a warehouse on the bottom floor with another shop. The sign itself is not very helpful.I still give this place three stars because the worker at least assisted me by exchanging the item for the correct one. She needs to work on her customer service. The price, though, is a rip-off. This item probably only costs them a few pennies or a nickel each. Next time I'll just shop on Amazon. At least I won't feel like I'm not welcome and that I'll get a more reasonable price. And I won't have to drive all the way here looking for parking. It'll just show up in the mail.

Need electronic parts? knifes, test equipment, computer stuff and other accessories here's the place to get it. Things have changed and there are a lot less electronic parts than they used to have but it's always worth a try.

I am frankly amazed these folks are still in business. Their showroom is a disaster. They also come off as super resentful and like you are interrupting them, even when you are the only person in the store. Their prices are ok, but it's hard to get past the attitude. They probably sit around wondering why their business is in trouble and arriving at the conclusion that amazon is killing small retailers. Sorry, it's not amazon, it's you.

06-24-15, Honolulu Electronics has been around for a very long time and I have been a customer when they were on Keeamoku Street. Guess times have changed as they have down sized from its original location BUT, the owners daughters are still carrying on the torch in carrying the electronic parts, and all types of accessories. This is the only place that I found the "Ripoff" brands of pouches/cases for my cell phones, knives, flash lights, etc. a lot more than other places that carry the Ripoff Brand. If they don't have it, they can get it in no time. Prices are average but when you need it right away, price is not a problem. It's was sad to hear the owner passed away, but I remember him very well when I used to buy a whole lot of electronic equipment that he was always helpful, patient and friendly, like his daughters. I will continue to patronize this place for my electronic needs and for the cell phones case/pouches. Note, if you're looking the Ripoff Brand pouch/case, they have the best inventory and selection to choose from.

After coming here to try and buy some supplies, I'm frankly amazed that these guys are still in business.First of all, their store is hidden inside of what looks like a shared space with a car repair garage or something. There is a Honolulu Electronics sign on the outside of the building, but there are two doors on the outside of the building that would lead you to think that either of them are the entrance to the store, but alas, they aren't. They are both locked, with absolutely no indication that the real door is actually inside the walk-in garage area. It's almost as if they DON'T want you to find their store!Second, for a store that calls itself an "electronics" store, they really don't seem to sell much of anything here. I went in to buy an RJ45 Ethernet crimping tool, but I was told that they don't sell them. I found this unfathomable, given the fact that they do sell the very same RJ45 plugs that one would expect to need a crimping tool in order to use. It makes as much sense as a hardware store that stock nails, but doesn't sell hammers. It's even more strange, considering that they do sell other tools like wire strippers. And it wasn't even a simple matter of them being out of stock of crimpers. The salesperson flat out told me that they don't sell them AT ALL! I stood there for a few seconds in sheer disbelief before walking out in disappointment, and vowing to not waste my time trying to buy anything from here in the future. It's things like this that should not cause store owners to be surprised why people like to buy things from Amazon or Best Buy instead.Their entire offering of tools and connectors consists of a 8'x3' pegboard on their wall. It's kind of sad. I really have to wonder how they manage to stay in business, given the paucity of their inventory.
