They had me at crispy...Browsing around Ala Moana Center I happened to come across this cute kiosk that's just outside Makai Market Food Court on the Street Level somehow just captured my attention.Crispy Beef Jerky has been my vibe lately as they reminded me of chips though for some reason it wasn't that that I ended up with but some sweets by Honolulu Snacks and their Mango candy are mango puree that's made into a cube shaped treat. It comes in regular, chili lime and lihing...i was told it's more like a gummy but knowing it has actual mangoes is nice so I picked up a pack for my work bestie as she loves mangoes and if you're unsure they do have samples as well and his honest opinion on them as well lol.Discounts of 4% if you pay by Venmo, CashApp or Zelle though with these affordable snacks it's an easy choice and to help support these local biz.Thank you!

This is a little kiosk outside of Makai Market food court near the Croc store. I got there around 1:30pm and no one was there. The kiosk was locked up. I waited 15 minutes before the worker arrived. They had the crispy beef jerky in three flavors: teriyaki, umami and original. It was pretty pricey. I got two bags of the teriyaki; one to send to my mother in law in her box for Mother's Day and one for me to try. They were $14 each for 2oz. bags. I've had crispy beef jerky before from other brands that were actually crispy. This was not it. These were hard and chewy even though they were thinly cut. All three flavors are made with oyster sauce. I read it on the packaging. Yes, I read for once, lol.

A generous friend sent me a care packet a month ago or so. We shopped together the last time we saw each other and remembered that I bought a similar snack. I opened the pack of pineapple ling hung mui beef jerky (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=G1gqTBgWwav15QLT4c7EnA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) a few weeks later. It was a mix of thin pieces in varying sizes and thickness. I started with the smaller ones, wanting to get a small taste first. They were crackly with a slight chew on the thicker pieces. The flavors were pretty good, a mix of sweetness from the pineapple and a tang from the li hing mui flavor. They were on the subtle size and was not salty to the point it had me reaching for water. I am curious what other flavors they have.Thank you for my thoughtful, generous friend, Li Y. (https://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=fWJok1wljTdXP7VyIDBYoA). This ranks second so far of the three jerky crisps I've tried from the island.

Aiiks! I can't believe I ate the whole bag today!?! So innocently delicious, it's easy to do. Just put on your favorite k-drama like "Taxi Driver II" with Lee Je Hoon or Coffee Prince with Gong Yoo...and open a bag. See that crispy jerky disappear in no time!Crispy beef jerky, only now jumping on that bandwagon and trying it for the first time while out of town visitors were in Hawaii. I have absolutely fallen in love with the product. First trying a different brand in Waikiki. Quickly wanting to sample the other two companies products being found. Honolulu CrIspy Beef Jerky being one of them.Honolulu CrIspy Beef Jerky is definitely the easiest shop to get to. They are located on the ground floor of Ala Moana Center in a kiosk just outside of the Makai Foodcourt, at the base of the escalator and across the optical shop.At just $12 for a larger 3oz bag, this comes in as the best value. I like that there are samples available at Ala Moana store. There are over 6 different flavors so, many choices to find your favorite flavor! My favorite being the teriyaki or original. Also available in: Garlic, Peppered, Furikake Teriyaki, Spicy, and Extra Spicy.HCBJ product I found to be slightly thicker, which is not a bad thing...just a preference thing. Slightly less salty. I like that!Slight price break if you find them at the Aloha Stadium swap meet and buy in bulk. I reached out to company via email since I was having a difficult finding the Aloha Stadium swap meet location. Owner Tony was super easy to coordinate purchase with.Would I buy it again. Absolutely! Love crispy beef jerky; my latest obsession! Love supporting local.

I love jerky and didn't realize that I would love it as a chip! I first had it shipped through a different company and was excited to try them out when I saw them at the Aloha Stadium swap meet. They gave me some samples and I ended up getting the furikake terriyaki flavor. It was pretty expensive, so I just got one bag LOL.

Things that are polarized:- My 1.5x pot river overbet; either a busted flush draw or the stone cold nuts.- Experiencing the musical Hamilton; you either loved it or like me, couldn't stand it.- Crispy beef jerky; cow chips or uhhh cow chips.So...No, no, no, no, no. God did not intend cows to be crispy. It's not the flavor or seasoning rather the bizarre texture. Not entirely crisp like a fried pork rinds. Thicker areas have some moisture and are chewy. The combination of textures had me picturing a cow having died and dried up in Death Valley during the Summer. "Crunching" on the "chip" results in "beef strings" getting stuck in your teeth. Oddly, putting a piece in your mouth and sucking on it for 15 minutes doesn't rehydrate it at all.As mentioned, the flavors are good and strong. Black pepper, spicy, teriyaki and furikake teriyaki purchased and sampled.$12.00/3oz bag. Add 4% for credit cards if purchased at their kiosk at Ala Moana Center vs online.Very helpful, personable service.A very unique made in Hawaii product that may be great for some, just not me.

During our walks around Ala Moana Center and starting to feel more comfortable removing our face masks while outdoors, we stumbled into the Honolulu Crispy Beef Jerky Company's kiosk. This kiosk is located near the Centerstage side entrance to the Makai Market Food Hall. Our first visit was well before 11 AM, so I took photos and promised my husband that we'd return on the weekend. My husband commented that he prefers snacking on crispy beef jerky, potato chips, corn chips, taro chips, or anything crisply deep-fried while watching televised sporting events. We've brought back beef jerky from Las Vegas, but I think as we've aged, we both stopped enjoying gnawing on the jaw-breaking Cowboy-style beef jerky. Several local vendors feature crispy beef jerky chips that we've either sampled or bought the product from farmers market stations or the former indoor Ohana Hale Marketplace. We returned on Easter Sunday and got to the kiosk to purchase a couple of bags of flavored crispy beef jerky chips. In the back of my mind, the company's name sounded familiar to me. When I talked with the woman working at the kiosk, she told me that their beef chips are featured at several farmers markets at Mililani, Ewa's Kapilina, and Aloha Stadium Swapmeet. Out of the three locations, I realized that I had been to the Mililani Farmers Market, where I had seen their tent/stand before.Meanwhile, my husband circled the kiosk to select two bags of beef jerky chips. The locally-made beef jerky chips are packaged in 4.5-ounce bags. Each bag costs $12.50, but if you pay by Cash, Venmo, or Zelle, you'll save a 4% processing charge. The saleswoman helped recommend their popular flavors since I asked my husband to avoid the Spicy Ghost Pepper, 3X Spicy, and Pineapple Li Hing Mui flavors since we suffer from GERD attacks. He chose the Cracked Black Pepper and Furikake Teriyaki flavored beef jerky chips. Thanks to fellow Yelp Friends (Allen and Paul) who recently helped me learn to use Venmo, I quickly used my account to complete the transaction. Within minutes, we were on our way with our snacks. As soon as were got home, my husband tore open the bag of Cracked Black Pepper crisp beef jerky, opened a bottle of beer, and plopped himself down on our couch to watch an NBA playoff game. The crispy beef jerky pieces were whole slices and were thin and crisp like potato chips. The cracked black pepper seasoning wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, and I imagined the beef jerky as a chip form of steak au poivre that I found myself breaking off pieces and pairing the snack with a glass of Australian Shiraz. We're happy to find Honolulu Crispy Beef Jerky Company at Ala Moana Center, and we look forward to returning for more flavors of your texturally pleasing crispy beef jerky.

We love their jerky ! We've been avid fans from the time they were in the now demolished Ohana Marketplace. It's now in Ala Moana in a stand alone kiosk located near Makai Market food court on the ground floor. The jerky is nice and light and seasoned just right. It's downright addictive! There's a bunch of flavors you can choose- spicy, peppery, sweet, my favorite is the teriyaki. I've had the furikake flavor in the past but the last time I checked it wasn't available. The packages used to be bigger but now it's a bit smaller due to packaging changes. The company is hoping to sell in major local stores so they need to have all that nutritional info on the bags-and the packaging is pretty fancy now as well. But whatever the packaging, inside is the best crispy jerky! Like beefy potato chips, you can't stop! If you Venmo or pay cash, there's a discount. And say hello to the owner's cute little dog when he's there.

Addictive and so good! Had to get some as souvenirs. Love that you can order online. Be warned... can't stop at just one bag.

If you're at the Aloha Stadium Market...steer clear of this unethical, predatory vendor. Intentionally selling expired inventory.
