First time here. There's benches outside the studio where you can watch your child. Located upstairs in Ward Center.

My daughter has been attending classes here for the last 4 months and she absolutely loves it! Ms. Romi Beppu (former principal ballerina of Boston Ballet and Ballet West) is absolutely fantastic and the Prima instructor Ms. Lauren is super with the kids! 10 week sessions are very reasonably priced. The Prima's will be putting on their first recital this December too!

Since my daughter could speak understandable phrases she has always wanted to take ballet. She's what I like to call a "NBP" (Natural Born Princess.) Everything pink, everything delicate, everything gentle. I don't know where these hyper princess tendencies come from, because it's certainly not from me, but after two years of trying to make her into a gymnast I finally gave in and accepted that my princess wants to be a ballerina. We started off with a ballet class at a dance studio and after one month we left because my daughter didn't enjoy the classes. The instructor was very disorganized and I think she was disappointed that the girls didn't have a uniform they were required to wear. Enter stage right: Honolulu Classical Ballet. I found them on Yelp and after reading their great reviews I decided to reach out for more info. Portia their administrative assistant emailed with me and was so great at following up and getting me information. This is pretty huge in my book because I've found that studios often don't take their phone and email messages seriously. On her first day of ballet I took my NBP to her class on the 2nd floor of Ward Warehouse and it was like we were coming home. It's a small studio but totally cute and perfect for little princesses. My daughter can be shy at times so this is a great place to start her out. So far she's very happy with her classes and loves her instructor Miss Aya. What I love so much about Honolulu Classical Ballet is that if she decides that ballet is her passion she'll be in an environment that's nurturing and professional. My Natural Born Princess has finally found her palace!

Instructor is very patient with the students. She takes time to individually work with each student. The girls are always smiling and seem to be enjoying their class. Friendly environment.

Romi Beppu has created one of the most amazing places for learning ballet! Why would anyone want to take lessons from anyone but the best. Well, if your looking for a place to learn ballet, you HAVE to come here!Romi is hands on with the girls using a loving yet firm technique. She truly cares about her girls and their development. The girls learn and love doing it! My daughter has been taking from Romi since her studio first opened and she just loves to come to ballet. The other great thing about this studio is the location! Located in ward warehouse parents have a ton of things that can keep them busy while their children are in practice. Come check out this studio! You won't regret it!

If you are fortunate enough to have a teacher as accomplished and wonderful as Romi Beppu on island, you are blessed. If you want your child trained by one of the best dancers and nicest people I know (I am a pro dancer in SF), take your child to her. :)

Romi Beppu is a gorgeous dancer and a great teacher. She takes the time to correct you (which is what you want a teacher to do!) That being said, go and try one of her adult classes! Word of warning though: Ms. Romi has beautiful technique and amazing extension. When you watch her demonstrate combinations, it's a real treat! So it's easy to just get lost watching her and forget what it is she has asked you to do! : ) That's a compliment, by the way...

Excellent classical ballet training, with emphasis on proper technique. Attended classes offered at a handful of ballet schools on Oahu, and the instruction at HCB is by far the most sound and foundational. Other schools may be larger/fancier or offer more grand performance opportunities, but the personalized training at HCB is easily superior and their teachers unmatched. That's not to say that there aren't also amazing opportunities for HCB students to perform for the community, get exposure to guest instructors, or experience various dance styles. These things are definitely available under the umbrella of serious ballet training, personal growth, and a deep respect and appreciation for the artistry of ballet. The teachers at HCB are incredibly astute in what they're doing, while also being very nurturing, compassionate and caring. The intimate school environment is family friendly and highly supportive of each dancer. During the four years my daughter has been a student here, she has made wonderful friends and is much improved, in many ways, because of Honolulu Classical Ballet.

Miss Romi and her instructors are extremely conscientious and experts in their field. They took plenty of time learning about my daughter as she transferred from another school. They took the time to get to know her and properly assess her to put her in the right class where she will continue to grow. My daughter felt comfortable there from the beginning and she started learning new things immediately. We are looking forward to her time at Honolulu Classical Ballet.

My daughter who is three and isn't into sports yet loves going to ballet classes at Honolulu Classical Ballet! I don't know much about ballet but the proprietor, Romi Beppu is the only prima ballerina to come out of Hawaii. How lucky to have your children learn from a world class and accomplished professional ballerina! All the instructors are very gentle and nurturing with their students and the school has a very welcoming ambiance. Even Dads can feel comfortable bringing their little girls here. I never had any interest or knowledge about ballet until my daughter started taking lessons. It's pure joy to see your little ballerina skip and twirl with a big smile on her face. She even likes to perform for us at home, all thanks to Romi and her team of instructors at Honolulu Classical Ballet. I hope ballet will be an integral part of our daughter's life for the foreseeable future.
