Billing is very questionable. Would not recommend this company.I just wanted to thank the owner and staff of Honolulu Appliance Repair. You opened my eyes that there are companies that are so dishonest and should not be allowed to cheat people. You questioned whether I was local. Yes I am local I question if you are local because local people do not do what you do . I also served in Vietnam as a combat medic. How dare you insult your customers. Check Yelp before you hire they do a great job!!

Ray was very good. when he had trouble with my home warranty company, he continued to complete the repair on his own dime. He also noted my refrigerators was in need of a coil cleaning. he was hired on the spot to provide this service. he left the work area cleaner than when he started. He was on the phone for the better of an hour trying to resolve a problem with me home warranty company, I feel that he went well above the expected service level. I wll use them again when my appliances need service

0/5 stars! Horrible business! I've been trying to get my 90 year old uncles' microwave for over 2 months! Had to buy a whole new microwave while trying to book multiple appointments in which the technician is either "too busy" or "doesn't care for the job". The absolute worst business i've ever had to work with! DO NOT GO WORK WITH THESE GUYS!!!

The only bright spot in my experience with HARP was Elijah, the technician who replaced my washer drive motor. He was efficient and personable. After the initial inspection to determine the problem and a short wait for parts delivery, I was given an afternoon appointment between 1pm and 5pm for the actual repair. I called HARP at 5pm to report the tech hadn't arrived and was told I was still on the schedule and that the tech would arrive after completing prior appointments. I called again at 7pm because the tech still hadn't shown up, but HARP didn't answer. (Elijah subsequently said he had notified the office around 3pm that he was running very late and would not be able to complete his appointments and that someone from the office should have notified me.)I talked to Mike, HARP's scheduler, the next day to express my anger at the previous day's no-call/no-show He said the tech would be here in the afternoon after his other appointments. He also acknowledged the previous day's missed appointment, but said he had no authority to offer a discount, although he said he would report the matter to someone with that authority.I had requested an itemized invoice from someone in HARP's office, but I have not received one. Elijah mentioned that the parts had cost $100 less than expected. HARP charged me the full amount of the original estimate. To be fair, I did sign the estimate, but it appears no one in HARP's office is looking out for their customers. All of HARP's Yelp reviews for the past year or so have been extremely negative, and any replies posted by Geno K. have attempted to place the blame or onus for a resolution on the customer. If your repair goes without a hitch, consider yourself fortunate. If you encounter a problem with the repair itself or with the price HARP charges -- good luck!

Stay away from this business! They overcharge, they have poor communication skills, technicians don't show up, and don't even call to reschedule, and repairs drag out for months. It took them 3 months to fix my washer, and they left it un-calibrated in the end, which I had to do myself after they left it not-leveled. By all professional standards, they should shut down.

Appalled. First time in 30 years that I have a complaint about appliance service.I found this company on yelp- If I'm not mistaken, they came up first when looking for Bosch dishwasher service. All I needed was a spring... or whatever, that would restrain the door from crashing down. They came on time. I had to leave before they finished (my bad), so my son stayed to pay. When I returned-1. The door still comes crashing down, although slightly slower. 2. The indicator light that shines on the floor no longer works. 3. The door now squeaks and lunges when opening all the way. 4. The dishwasher is no longer plumb in the cabinet opening. 5. The dishwasher now tips forward when the door is open and the appliance is empty.I called to complain. Very nice lady called back quickly and asked for photos. I sent a photo and a video clip so they could see and hear the door groaning when opening. After that no response. All this cost me $250.00.After this, am planning to just buy a new dishwasher. But will first make sure I can find great service for the type we purchase.

My gas oven was not igniting. Called Honolulu Appliance Repair Pro who agreed to come out for a $175 service fee that would also be applied to the repair. I knew that the gas oven igniter for my Samsung oven was the problem and ordered the part ahead of time to save money and expedite the repair. Today, Ray the service repairman showed up - who was EXCELLENT. However, after my 30-45 minute repair, he told me that me that my labor charge was $400. I told him that could not be true for 30-45 minutes of work. He called his supervisor who stated "it's not really a labor charge but a case by case basis because we make a lot of money off of parts, but I can offer you $50 off." I told him that I wouldn't accept anything less than $100 off and he agreed if I agreed to write a review (case in point). This is absolute false advertising/representation and price gouging. Would strongly recommend against using this company despite very competent repairs.UPDATE:The owner of the company just called me asking why I left a 1 star review. I asked if he read the review. He said that he had and that he was expecting me to leave a positive review. I told him that I agreed to leave a review but he did not specify that it was supposed to be positive, just like he did not specify that the work to be done was going to be more expensive if I provided my own parts. He then told me that he was going to look up who I am to post a negative review about me and that what I did was a "very cowardly thing." NEVER using this company again. Customers beware.

Caution: Do not use Honolulu Appliance Repair Pros. I agree with all the other one-star raters, especially Wayne H. and Mel A. They overcharge for their services (will charge you multiple times for the same work), are rude on the phone (Adrianna), and will not give you an invoice unless you beg for one. When you ask a simple question about the bill, they will only repeat your question in a terse email. This is probably why they are NOT accredited by the Better Business Bureau. The mistake I made was to look at the ratings from their website, rather than the BBB or Yelp. Repeat: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - unless you have lots of money to waste. Good lesson for me.
