Thursday February 6, 2025 the food is still the same from the last time. I was here back in September 2023 and it didn't seem like that long ago to me. The service is fast and friendly like the last time that I was here. Ambiance is casual like any Chinese food place that I go to.The parking lot there is plenty parking. I will come here again to support local.

Starting 2025 New Year with ONOLICIOUS food! On our first day off together we knew we had to come and feast with good luck!We had the Boneless Chicken with Black Mushroom and Choi Sum with Black Bean Sauce and their "Old School" so so good Char Siu Fried Rice. The owner such a great guy and the cooks are awesome too. Never fails to just enjoy and relax here. Happy New Year Hong Nien and Thank you always!

Takeout lunch from Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii...Relatively hungry, I looked on my list of places that I haven't visited yet and selected Hong Nien Chinese Restaurant. Located at a strip mall on King Street, Hong Nien is the end unit on the far right. It's been here a long time, but I've never noticed it.Inside, it's rather old school. There were about five small tables that can be joined together if you have a large group.Service was very polite and friendly. I was asked for the phone number that I had used... the order was verified, and the brown paper bag was given to me.I opened the package and enjoyed the yummy lunch! It's not the best Cake noodles, but it sufficed. The chicken and veggies were nicely seasoned!I'd come back again!

Every year on Lunar new year we order from here. The jai is tasty and service is fast. I like the crispy pork. I just wish they had steamed whole fish with the head and tail in black bean sauce with green onions and ginger. I like the online ordering feature but sometimes the order gets lost. Be sure to have it clearly stated when online ordering. Bookmark or screenshot your online order just in case. Phone ordering is better because it's not easily lost. They should also do a special jai for lunar new year.

Food is just as good as I remember over 10 years ago and used to come with my family before that. Salt pepper shrimp the best as you can eat the whole head! Pork chops and minute chicken cake noodle are other favorites. Homey feeling and good service by the same owners. Love this place.

Neighborhood, old school chinese food place. Flavors are good, value is good. They have an oyster sauce chicken on cake noodle for $11.50! I also got the spareribs with black bean sauce, ono with rice. They have weekday lunch specials, other specials. I remember the crispy chicken and their fried rice is good. So many of the Chinese fòod places now are mediocre. I went at dinner time and i think that wok was nice and hot, i think thats the key to truly good Chinese food. Also, this is really almost a 2 person show, the owner in the front and the cook in the back. He is always nice and works so hard, definitely want him to be able to make a living and stay open. I caĺled in my order and it was ready when i got there.
