Hickam Officers Club is located on Joint Base Pearl Harbor- Hickam towards the back of the base along the water. You need access to the base or a sponsor in order to get here. No issue with parking, plenty of spots. The views are amazing during sunset. We come for the Sunday Brunch Buffet but my office recently had our Christmas party here and the staff did a fabulous job, everything was awesome. I also here the Mongolian BBQ on Thursday night is pretty good, have not tried it yet but will.Recommend make a reservation for the Brunch Buffet (10-1pm) to ensure that you have a table when you arrive. They have lots of options but don't pass on the prime rib and crab legs, both delicious. They also have eggs to order and will make any omelette you can think of. Lots of desert options as well. The service is excellent, all the servers are helpful and attentive. You can tell they work hard and are focused on customer service, please tip them well.Great place, superb service and really good experience and we will certainly be back for the Sunday Brunch Buffet.

Note, you will need military base access. Lots of free parking. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff that always serve with a smile. While it may be a little dated, it is clean. The prime rib was perfectly juicy and right amount of bloodiness LOL. The pork chop was moist, not dried. The fried chicken was alright. The waffles though. YUM with the melted butter and maple syrup with your choice of toppings! The veggies were fresh and the watermelon was super sweet. I've had better desserts but I'm not complaining :)

It's on an Air Force base so it's expected to be nice! I attended an event which toock place at Hickam Officer's Club. It was my first time going there but, it was easy to find from a quick gps/Google maps search. There is plenty of parking both in the front and at the back of the club and just a short walk from the parking lots to the entrance. Once inside, the club has three large rooms where events are held and a bar area. Out back, there is also a covered seating area which overlooks the harbour. That area is equipped with a grill and benches where you can enjoy the amazing view or just watch the sunset. The event was held inside the main dining area. It was open bar and buffet style dinner. Guests were able to order drinks from the bar located in the Koa Lounge (directly across from the main dining hall). Then, dinner was spread out in another adjoining room. The food options included green salad, macaroni salad with eggs of course, candied yams, stuffing, turkey, ham and roast beef, gravy, cranberry sauce, and desserts...the spread was similar to a traditional American Thanksgiving day meal. The macaroni was a bit bland - nothing a little black pepper couldn't fix, the stuffing was a bit dry but hella flavourful, and the roast beef was so good. Desserts included sweet potato pie (delicious), apple pie (warm & delicious), and white chocolate macadamia cookies (oh-gawd-good!) that paired well with coffee. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures.

Reservations:Reservations are recommended! They set up your table prior to your arrival. There was a mix up when we checked in and wewe're given a small round table for a party of 7. I later found out that our table was suppose to be a long rectangular table. The lady checked us into the wrong table. Location/Parking:The Officer's Club is located in Hickam Air Force Base. There is ample parking in the front and back of the Officer's Club.Food:They offer a brunch every Sunday from 10am to 1pm. The food offered during Sunday brunch are waffles, bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict, omelet station, a carving station for roast beef, crab legs, shrimp cocktail, macaroni salad, potato salad, fruits, roasted potatoes, biscuits and gravy and a variety of desserts!Drinks:They do offer alcoholic drinks so get yourself a glass of champagne or mimosas!Price:The price for Sunday brunch for adults are $26.95 per person. Children that are 4 years old and older are less than $20.Bathroom:The women's bathroom is nice. They have a large powder area with comfy couches.Overall, the food was delicious! We came here to celebrate a birthday and our guest enjoyed the food.

So...after 8 years living on Oahu, the wife and I finally tried the Mongolian BBQ at Hickam Officer's Club on a Thursday night. I've always heard how we must go and try it...but the opportunity and will just didn't seem to align. We planned to go many times before but something always came up...until tonight. With high anticipation, we purposely ate a light lunch and made it a point to arrive close to 5:00 PM to finally try out Mongolian BBQ. We have tried Mongolian BBQ before (but it has been years) and had some inkling as to how to proceed, but asked Pete, the host, about the "protocol". He seated us towards the harbor with a number on our table. He then pointed to a stack of bowls and the trays of chopped vegetables, then some minced garlic, ginger and sliced onions for some flavor, followed by proteins (chicken, pork, beef, shrimp just to name a few). Then it was the weighing station where your bowl is weighed ($0.95 per oz.). You think $0.95 an ounce...such a deal! Well. you don't realize how those ounces add up. Before we knew it, my wife and I paid just under $40 for our Mongolian BBQ.In any case, we took it to another station where we added the oils and sauces then to the cooking area where the cooks made quick work of it. Then it was on to another table which held the white rice, fried rice and the noodles, as well as some rolls. Then finally, back to our "assigned" table. There are drinks towards the stage...non-alcoholic drinks are part of the meal, but you can order alcoholic beverages at the bar.The food itself tasted pretty good...although I would imagine that would all depend on the sauces you add to it. I think they must've had something like 14 different choices for oils and sauces. The cashier, upon being asked which sauce to put in our bowl, suggested to just get a scoop of every one...and make sure to add some oil for the Mongolian BBQ flat griddle. So, all in all, not a bad experience, especially if you take the opportunity to walk your meal off by strolling along the water at sunset. At $40 for dinner, not bad, but we thought the value wasn't quite there for what it is.Note:- We arrived just after 5:00 PM and there was an initial rush of people but it cleared up by 5:30 PM...then another rush of people at 6:00 and another lull close to 7:00 PM- Pete, the host, will seat you, but opt for a seat closer to the stage or even closer to the middle, unless you don't mind the setting sun hitting you squarely in the face if seated closest to the grill area- Do not forget to take some giant-sized fortune cookie by the cashier area...not bad at all

Mongolian BBQ on Thursday night. Enough said. Do yourself a favor and go. I've seen it super packed where there is a line just to get a table, and I've seen it where it's just a steady stream of people and you don't have to wait too long, if at all. Just depends on the night and the time, but going early is always a good bet.My advice: go with a plan for what you are going to put in your bowl(like a theme or favorite dish i.e. Beef and Broccoli), otherwise you will just end up with a big bowl of flavors that don't blend together too well in the end.

Yelp 365 Challenge #163/365Flashback-1987 Freshmen/Sophomore Banquet with me sporting a Nia Peeple's hairdo, strapless dress, purple/pink eyeshadow and red...RED lipstick *shudder nauseated* with the wallet size picture indicating the year, theme song (You've Got It All") and school name-Early 1990's Wendy N's Second Wedding Ceremony (Yes, SECOND wedding and it was a big shindig with Billy V as the MC) O_o-Late 1990's Graduation Celebration (It was tame...since it was a luncheon)Most Recent: October 2012 Commanding General's FarewellAll these events were held at Hickam Officer's Club and the food is still good. Honestly, I think all clubs (officer's and enlisted) on post serves good food. I remember my first holy communion on MCAS KBay and that the breakfast was held at the club (I loved hash browns back then as I do now).Hickam's NCO Club, their banquet menu is great also considering I just attended a wedding and graduation party last year.Anyhow, there was a Commanding General's farewell at the Hickam Officer's Club and let me share that to some people, it is a nerve-racking event. Like take my co-worker for instance, she actually took off from work to buy a NEW DRESS...(whiskey tango foxtrot??)The attire was "Aloha Crisp" meaning...don't come in jeans (boo). Did I buy a new dress? NopeBut, I did get my nails done because it was sorely in need of a manicure. CG's farewell event was held in early evening, so I got there just before the sun was setting and let me share that this is a great location to watch the sun set as you are holding a drink (for me-it was water) in hand as you shmooze your way around because you're dealing with all the leaders that served under this Commanding General (hey, networking is a MUST if you are looking to get promoted in the civilian sector of the federal government!).The banquet spread that night had assorted salads of leafy greens to pasta salads, fruits, veggies, rice, red roasted potatoes, fish and prime rib. Dessert was an apple pie concotion with a topping to make it alittle tart and sweet blended together that went really well with coffee (yummm). The banquet was held in the outer lanai area where there were about 20 tables set up that fits about 10 people per table. I'm pretty sure it could fit more but it was kept to 200. Service was excellent because there was always someone checking on the food as well as making sure that there was enough coffee, ice tea, water available if you weren't one of the individuals that were taking advantage of the bar that was open to the guests. All in all, Hickam Officer's Club never did change throughout the years on the events I've been attending held there. They still provide great service and great food as well as a breathtaking view of Hawaii's sunset.

This review is for The JBPHH Arts & Crafts sponsored "Paint 'n Sip" sessions held every Wednesday evening 1830-2100. While I have been here for many other O-Club functions in the past, I've never had a bad experience. The food is always good and the staff incredibly friendly and full of Aloha. Plus there is some sort of aura of being in the historic Officers Club that survived the Pearl Harbor attack that must be experienced to be felt. So many times we take history for granted unless we make a conciliatory effort to remind ourselves of where we came from. With that said, the paint sessions are a fantastic way to de-stress during midweek, while enjoying the 1930s art-deco club architecture! While walk-ins are welcome, it's better to secure a place online using the Great Life Hawaii JBPHH weblink. Cost is $40 and that includes the 16" x 20" canvas, paints and supplies for the evening. You pay $20 when you register online and $20 at the door. There are two artists that give instruction and they rotate each week. The one I recommend is Ms Charis Derry. She is the best I've seen about breaking down art into simple understandable steps that even a klutzy dunderhead like me can understand! She also is very energetic and full of patience. She will lead the whole class step by step through the painting and also provide one-on-one instruction if you get stuck. It's incredible how down to earth she is. If you research her name you'll find her art in books and in several galleries in southern CA and San Diego. Most people begin arriving around 1730, order food and drinks and have a light dinner before paint instruction starts at 1830. You are done before 2100, and have a beautiful masterpiece all your own to take home. Bottom line: when you leave, you are relaxed and at peace. If you have base access or know someone who can sponsor you, definitely worth checking out as a way to take a nice break in the middle of the week. A hui hou!
