Just a knife collector here.... if you are looking for anything from a plain EDC pocket knife to tactical / self defense knives, I must say that Gene's HGS gun store has an excellent selection of pocket knives. I've been to most knife shops in Honolulu, and Gene has by far the best selection when it comes to automatic OTFs (out-the-front), flippers, manual folders, and fixed blades. Sure there are other stores with a larger quantity of knives than HGS, but Gene seems to have picked the best in terms of both the high end (Microtech) and affordable/mid-priced (Cobra Tec) categories. Check them out, conveniently located at the intersection of Sand Island Rd and Nimitz Hwy. Then there are the hand guns and rifles! Looks to me like he has a super selection of the Best firearms money can buy!Highly recommended!

Birthday gift for my son!! Good place to come for your gun supplies. They allowed us to ship the rifles and guns to them for processing. Good people. Fair prices.

I am not sure if this business still exists. I went during posted business hours and the door was locked. The phone number that was listed was also not correct. The poor guy's voicemail actually says "this is not HGS".

The wife and I, visited HGS for the first time to check out the store. I can say I have never felt more welcomed in a Gun store on Oahu. I have been to many where it feels like you are just being judged and rushed. They were very helpful in answering questions. I think for us new gun owners, or returning gun owners we all have lots of questions to ask or curious about a lot of things, and it's important to feel comfortable, and not feel stupid when asking. They have pretty good parking right in front of the shop, which is super important to me. I will be doing my business here from now on. Thanks

Best gun shop in the area! Customer service is on point and newly remodeled space feels very clean and sanitary, they follow strict COVID guidelines, wears a mask, takes temperature, and limits the time spend shopping to 15 minutes.Very helpful and knowledgeable on anything you'd want to know from making a first time purchase to experienced and taking a step in building your own rifle or customizing your current one. Ammo is in stock which is great to practice your fundamentals and get reps in. Eugene and his staff are all super friendly and skilled in anything you might have questions about. Definitely recommend if you need a first step in purchasing a firearm or knowledge about it.

I use to go to his old location before he moved to Sand Island. Fair and reasonable pricing. The man has an exqusite taste in gun selection. A lot of ammo in stock and accessories. He's got things in stock that other competitors dont have. Normally, you go into a LGS and buy just one item but when you're at his business you end up buying more items. I've had a few guns on consignment with him and went all well. I recommend people to check them out. Knowledgable and helpful staff. He posts on his Instagram and he responds to your inquiries.

HGS is my go to store for my firearms, supplies and accessories whenever I'm in town.The staff is knowledgeable, professional and helpful. I travel to Hawaii frequently and it's great to have a place I can rely on to obtain the things I need so whenever I get into town, I'm not scrambling around to find what I need. They'll have things held for me so I'm in and out of there quickly. I've been shooting since the late 70's and I've dealt with a lot of gun shops and box store suppliers. There are plenty out there that would profile you as you walk in. The staff of HGS never made me feel uncomfortable or unwelcome.Their location is not as easy to find but once you've figured out how to get there, it becomes second nature.

Been here a few times and have bought firearms and ammos. Gene the owner is very knowledgeble and was instrumental on the choices and selection on my purchases. Very humble and no preasures, the prices are unbeatable. I will always come back for more.
