Outdoor activities in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii...While there's snow on the East Coast of the mainland USA, it's a breezy 80 degrees (in the middle of December) on the Windward side of Oahu Island in the 50th State!Yes!I took for granted my tropical paradise home. Traveling makes me appreciate our island lifestyle... Here's a look at one of our many neighborhood parks...Heeia is a laid back, residential district in Kaneohe. It's north of Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii. A popular park is Heeia Neighborhood Park because of the free parking, basketball courts, baseball field, children's playground equipment, and convenient restroom. There's even a few picnic tables - with attached benches - and water fountains!I'm just celebrating life in the Aloha State and wanted to share some sunshine with you wherever you are! Wishing you peace, joy, and love this Holiday Season! Stay safe, healthy, and happy, my friends!

Heeia Park is located next to Heeia School on Haiku Rd by the Windward Mall in Kaneohe. Medium sized and open grassy park with all the kids amusements from swings to baseball & basketball courts. Bathrooms available, a small parking lot but you also have street parking available. They occassionally have craft fairs here as well. Caution during school hours for traffic. We first found out of this park when we put our pups through Art's obedience school for dogs which they train here at night. Nice grassy area for your dogs to play. Bring your umbrella, always spontaneous rain in Kaneohe and always drive safe, it is a school zone area.

Five stars. A clean, relaxing park in the heart of Kaneohe (He'eia area), next to He'eia Elementary School. Facilities include a baseball field, basketball courts with eight and ten foot rims, restrooms, picnic tables, open fields to play in, and most importantly, shade! He'eia Neighborhood Park, off of Haiku Road is nearby the Windward Mall Shopping Center and other shopping complex'. There's a small parking lot in front and, if necessary, the He'eia Elementary School's parking lot is utilized as an additional parking lot next door. The baseball park is named after the legendary Aunty Alice Hewett of Kaneohe. She is one of the greatest women to take charge and organizing sporting events around Kaneohe for the keiki. She's the best!Ultimately, He'eia Neighborhood Park is a nice place to come and relax. Or to enjoy a sporting event as a player or fan!Enjoy!!

This is my favorite place to paint en plein air. I love being here morning or afternoon. The light changes all the time. The peninsula gives 300 degree views of the bay. You can see Kualoa, the sandbar, coconut island, Kaneohe marine corps air station, Kaneohe town, and the Pali, likelike and H3. Kama'aina Kids offers tours and rentals for kayaks, SUP, outright canoe and catamaran. Have never NOT seen a turtle out there, and often see rays. Same for small gift shop. Proceeds go to support KK, so your money is well spent and the staff are always great. Native plantings give a nice stroll if you don't have time for Ho'omaluhia. They also ran a catch and release program to humanely deal with the feral cat problem and is the site of Paepae o He'eiafishpond. Community uses it for church, weddings, baby luau, senior tai chi, preschool KK program. As you can read, I can go on and on about why this is my kuleana and how pono the area is.

This neighborhood park is pretty active. There is a baseball field for the little leaguers, basketball courts for the b ballers, and a kids playground for the younger kids and some older kids. The park is also a dog park for all you dog lovers. There are restrooms (clean as one can expect but not hope for). There are sinks to wash your hands but no soap nor paper towels to wipe afterwards. It's situated next to elementary school and right along a major thoroughfare. Parking is very limited for the park however there are a number of stalls at the school and on the street

Came here for the first time this week. Small parking lot (about 8-10 stalls), clean park that's well maintained. The playground states that it's primarily for kids 5 years old and above, but my toddler loves it here! She's adventurous, so she enjoys the thrill she gets from the challenges she faces and the heights that she climbs. There's a shaded area with benches, and a restroom too! It also has a court and baseball field. Wish we came here
