The food was amazing, the view is amazing and MOST of the workers were kind. We never write reviews or complain even with experiences that aren't the best but my whole group felt that this needed to be shared. There is a host at the front who was SOOOO RUDE to each and every customer he "helped" (he doesn't even look customers in the eye or acknowledge them AT ALL!!) . He is a tan haole boy with blonde hair and he was awful. He is the first person you talk to at the front and almost made us not want to eat here just because of his attitude. Mind you we were soooo excited to come here for breakfast and try it out! We saw him interact with at least 5 separate customers and he did the same thing each time. Slouched over the counter, would look at them like they were harassing him just for wanting to eat here and looks you dead in the eyes only one time just for him to not acknowledge or talk back to you in ANYWAY!! Terrible service for him and he should be fired! He is the face of the restaurant and that should be someone who is kind, willing to help, and gives a great first impression for the restaurant. We will be eating here again because the food was amazing and the one man who served us was kind and super helpful but I hope to not see this boy here next time!

We had breakfast here on a Sunday and we had a great table with a marina view. It wasn't too busy at 830am. The restaurant has different seating, regular tables and then couch type seating. Food was really good! All of the dishes were excellent. Especially the açaí bowls and the poutine!

Came here quite early for breakfast so it wasn't too packed yet and got seated without a resy. This place has a great view of the water front and the place is super island vibey. Portion sizes were also nice enough to share !Things ordered: Loco moco(4/5): thick and juicy patty topped with a sunny side runny egg. The patty had a nice char on it while still being tender and juicy inside. Rice on the bottom literally soaked up all the meat juices and gravy. The only downside was that the gravy was a little too salty for my taste kind of like Demi glazePoutine(4/5): interesting and not the traditional Canadian way. Fries were nice and crispy while still soft, smothered in khalua pork and cheese topped with a poached egg in the center. Pickled onions helped to cut through some of the fat Beef sukiyaki (3.5/5) was alright, the 10 grain rice that came with it was quite mushy, and the sauce that the sukiyaki was prepared in was reduced a bit too much to were it was syrupy and overly salty. Overall a pretty good breakfast/brunch spot, they have a nice variety on the menu. Would come back later in the day and try their lunch options!

For Heaven's Sake!! Why is cooking short ribs so hard for many restaurants? Many places sets the fire too high, and while there's a nice sear or char outside, the inside is still raw. Unfortunately, Heavenly Island Lifestyle in Hawaii Kai falls into that category...among other things.I had solid experiences at the Waikiki location, and I was pleased to hear that it was expanding to Hawaii Kai in Koko Marina, near Zippy's. This spot used to be Therapy, Gokoku Sushi, etc. There's a decent amount of tight parking out front. It gets quite busy breakfast time, especially on the weekends. Same as the other breakfast place a few spots down. The wait was shorter here! The menu here is not the same as the Heavenly in Waikiki. There are more choices here, but different. They brought the Waikiki prices though! We sat at the bar since that was the next available seats. Our server/bartender was great. She was getting slammed with drink orders and was still friendly and helpful to us. Sure, there were times when I wanted more water, more coffee, and clean utensils and mugs, but she was too busy. When asking another server, they said "ok", but it was the bartender who brought us everything. Not sure why other servers can't assist on simple tasks when the bartender is already busy assisting them making their drink orders. She's doing double duty!Anyway... yes, dirty spoons and forks, and coffee mugs that still had lipstick imprint on the side... What's funny is the next set of mugs had coffee stains on the side. I thought it was from the just poured coffee, but nope! Only clean da inside huh?We started with the Potato Hash/Canadian Poutine with Kalua Pork. This was gooood! Crispy potato wedges with mounds of kalua pork, tasty hollandaise and gravy sauce, cheese, mushroom, and onion. Recommended! The Beef Sukiyaki Combo came with miso soup, poached egg, and white or 10 grain rice. The beef sukiyaki was too much on the sugary sweet side and overpowered any savory or saltiness. The beef itself was bland and succumbed to the sweetness. It also came with two blocks of bland tofu. Poached egg was more on the raw side. Miso soup was good. Eh.The Koko Head Loco Moco... sigh. Raw beef short ribs is not acceptable. The pieces were fatty and oily, never rendered down, and I just ate what I could with a lot of chewing. There was one entire piece where it was inedible because it was too raw. An obvious case where the grill was way too hot and quickly charred/burned the outside and the cook just decided that it was ready... Garlic rice was not garlicky. I liked that it was a little crispy, and the side broth (oh, was that supposed to be the "glaze"??) helped with the overall dryness of the dish. Adding what was cold cucumber kimchee and choy sum into this hot stone bowl with hot rice and ribs made it unappetizingly hot and soft. This definitely was no "loco moco". I would put it more towards as a bibimbap.Overall, this was a below average meal. Poor preparation and cooking--raw short ribs, sugary sukiyaki. Add on the dirty utensils and stained coffee mugs. The plus was the poutine. That was good! And our server was great. Sitting at the bar, I probably didn't get to enjoy the ambiance and environment of the restaurant. No view, a little windy, noisy, and with plenty of people walking behind you. Maybe I'll give this place another try. Just don't order the short ribs.

This is the evening menu of this restaurant. The recommendation here is the mimosa made with fresh fruit. All the other drinks are delicious, so there are many options to choose from depending on your preference. The tacos are very filling. As you can see in the picture, there is a falafel menu, and they also have a vegan menu, which is good. I guess most people come here during the day. It would be nice if you could get a seat on the terrace early in the evening, before the sun goes down. We went on a Sunday evening and were able to sit on the terrace.

Excellent experience here, particularly if you sit by the open windows overlooking the water. It's designed as a comfy welcoming space with multiple couches and small tables with cushy chairs, and the vibe is so refreshing and relaxing, we loved it just for this atmosphere. But then the food was good too, we got the Japanese Bacon & Mushroom spaghetti. It was al dente, smooth & buttery and the mushrooms with nori made it taste so good. We had double chocolate dessert and afogado, they were good. Note: the meal portions for the spaghetti were on the small side but the desserts were large!! Just be prepared if you order dessert, it's a lot!

Just wow! I live in Waianae so my voyages to Hawaii Kai are rare and limited. However, I found myself far far from home and in desperate need of some dinner. Heavenly was the perfect spot. The place has a notable Kailua vibe with its light toned wood, water views, big windows... all that is missing is the sand. I was surprised to sit at a low table with big comfy chairs, like my living room would have. There were other spots with couches and coffee tables. If you have a hard time getting low, or getting up from low, be aware. But for my semi-young self, it was cozy and comfy. The drink menu was quite varied, with lots of classic spins. A mule, a gin sour... but with twists. I had an Elderflower gin sour and it was lovely. Egg foam, an orchid... perfection. The menu was also great! Pasta, steak, lamb, desserts... nice appetizer selection. I want to go back and try the steak and lamb. This time, I got their carbonara pasta. It was more of a cream sauce spin on carbonara than a traditional presentation, but it was fantastic nonetheless. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dish. Quinn was our server and he was also TOP NOTCH. Great service! Thank you, Quinn.I will be back, and you need to try it.

I went on a girls' brunch, and it was my first time at this spot. My girlfriends raved about it and insisted I give it a try.We arrived around 11 AM, and the place was packed! We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but once seated, we dove into the menu. I ordered lemonade and their recommended loco moco--it did not disappoint! I loved the combination with the Kalbi, and the fact that it came with soup was a nice touch. My friends got the sukiyaki combo (which smelled incredible) and the Hayashi rice. Both dishes looked so good, I told them I'm definitely coming back to try the sukiyaki combo next time.Even though we were full, we made room for the green tea tiramisu. It wasn't overly sweet and had just the right flavor. Be warned, though--the picture makes it look big, but it's actually not very large.Overall, the service and food were fantastic! While the prices are on the higher side, it's a great spot for special occasions. Highly recommend!
