Coworker: Want some Okra?? Me: what ewww... Coworker: DEEP FRIED OKRA!Me: Ok what?? (took a piece) OMG SO GOOD!From then on.... I have been coming here for chicken tenders and one of my sides were fried okra. I've had tried their other sides twister taters, salad, waffle fries, all were pretty good.Their chicken tenders are full of meat! Not all batter which I felt like it was more bang for my buck. They also have chicken sliders. Plates come in option of regular ($10) and mini size($8). Mini Chicken slider small is 2 sliders with one side and one dipping sauce. Regular Chicken sliders is 3 sliders with 2 sidesamd 2 dipping sauces. Chicken tenders small is 3 tenders with one side, regular is 4 tenders with 2 sides. If that's too much they have a keiki menu for $5 and comes with 1 slider or 2 chicken tenders. Sauces to choose from are Hula, ranch, buffalo, bbq and honey mustard. They offer sides only at 2 for $1. They also have tater tray with bacon cheddar ranch.

When your at an Eat the Street event be prepared to buy what your senses see and smell. Of course my kids wanted to be a part of the sprinkles of people holding the spiral thingies on a stick among the crowd. I have purchased different items on different occasions and on every occasion someone asks what we are eating and how it tastes. What is it?TATER STICK:Plain and simple it's a potato cut in to a spiral shape, pinned with a stick, and deep fried. Yeah, you are paying for the novelty of it all. You can choose different flavors. Check out my pictures for the different selections. I tried the tater stick a few times and each time it came out soft. My kids like it but I prefer it crunchy. I tried something like this a few years ago. We have tried the Cheezy Cheeder, which by the way tasted plain. The other flavor we tried is the salt and garlic pepper. My kids and I enjoyed it. This flavor added enough spruce to liven up the potato. TATER TRAY: Yummy! It's deep fried potato chips pimped out with different toppings to choose from. The tater tray chips are crunchy. The names speak for it self.1. Chili Cheese Tater Tray2. Hot Dog Tater Tray (I'm surprised this thing comes with 2 hot dogs on a stick!) Wowzeer :O3. Bacon Ranch Tater Tray My favorite out of the three is the Bacon Ranch Tater Tray. Bacon just makes everything better! It comes with a decent amount of chips. The only down fall is that if you don't eat it quick enough the cheese and ranch make the chips soggy. So plan to inhale this beauty to enjoy it to it's full potential. Your gonna regret waiting to eat at home. PINEAPPLE LEMONADE: It's a good drink that goes along well with the tater stick or tater tray. It's pineapple juice, lemonade (it's powder), and sprite mixed together. LOCATION: travelsThe best bet is to like them on Facebook to start stalking them:https://www.facebook.com/hawaiiantwistedtaterHawaiian Twisted Tater frequents:1) The farmers market located in the Waterfront at Puu'loa in Ewa Beach. From 3-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. 2) The Makeke Farmers Market located at Kapolei High School. From 3-6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Does Hawaiian Twisted Tater accept plastic? Yup!!!!If you like fried food, this is for you : )If you like bacon, cheese, and crunchy stuff get the Bacon Ranch Tater ; )If you need something to help you swallow it down, get the pineapple lemonade : D

Again, it wasn't my first choice, but I did enjoy their fish tender (because they went out of chicken) and green bean for lunch. It was simple and I expected a little more from a food truck.

** UPDATE** This was for the new one in Schofield. Apparently after created the new business, Yelp thought I was mistaken and put it here....Walking by, the twisted chips called to me so I had to try this place out. I was a little disappointed that they only offered chicken as their meat but the sides we good enough for me to give them a go.I ordered the regular chicken tender plates (comes with 4 pcs) instead of the chicken sliders and chose fried okra and their bacon cheddar ranch chips as the sides, cost $10. They also offer southern green beans, garlic parmesan corn, and waffle fries as sides. I chose the Hula sauce and ranch dipping sauces. They just ran out of chicken so I had to wait 5 mins for a new batch of chicken tenders which was okay since I appreciate freshly fried chicken! The chicken was pretty good. The batter is light and the chicken was tender. The pieces were bigger than expected and thick! The chips were on point! They were perfectly crisp and not overly seasoned. I think next time though I will ask for the cheddar on the side just because I don't like too much cheddar... thats just me though. The fried okra was good but I thought it was on the salty side. Some like it salty, but not I. The batter was a good covering, but again just too salty for my taste (as well as some of my co-workers). They also offer drinks to include lemonade and SWEET TEA! I did not get to try it as I had my Starbucks tea, but I will next time. I love me some sweet tea, and you can't really find sweet tea too many places on this island. You can also order just the fries for $7 (which is what I will probably do next time) and a kids plate for $5.All in all, I think I will be back here again although I will skip the okra unless they change their batter. I thought they were well priced for the amount and quality of food. The staff was friendly and they accept credit cards!

Waikele locationCrispy delicious fried potatoes with nacho cheese, green onions and bacon. Seriously, who could go wrong!I ordered the Chicken tender plate. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, just a little bit dry. The potatoes were very crispy and had the perfect amount of cheese, bacon and green onions. Very tasty!

We visited the Hawaiian Twisted Tater truck today at our visit to Eat the Street in Kapolei. We ordered a large cheesy bacon ranch twisted Tater and they did not disappointe! It was loaded with gooey golden goodnes over crispy potatoe tendrils that we devoured in no time flat! I have to take the kids to the next one so that they can try this delicious treat.

I looked forward to seeing this yellow food truck at events or on thursdays when they used to be at kapolei high school. When I saw on their IG that they are now stationed at Waikele next to Leonard's bakery, I made note that I would have to stop there one day. Bad thing about this is... going at an off peak time, means getting twisted taters that's been sitting there for who knows how long. You see, at events, because it was around for a couple of hours, they'd make new batches because people would keep coming & buying them. Now that they stay for longer hours, the food sits there too. There was no one else there when I arrived & placed my order. Also, no wait for a new batch to be made. I ordered the furikake/mayo. I must say the man working put a lot of furikake, but not enough mayo. I did get a lot of potato, mind you, majority of it was burnt! It wasn't hot (def not fresh), some areas were colder than the rest. And, some stale parts as well. I was starving & craving these bad boys for a while so I ate it. Thought I could get past the burnt ones, but no, after so many, it's hard to swallow lol.Let's hope they get it together & find alternate ways to keep their twisted taters fresh & not burnt! I do like this place, so I'll give it another try & update my review if needed haha.

I would give no starts if I could, they don't deserve any star at all(for my opinion) Went to waikele to look at the sales for Kmart, saw a little kid who had twister in a stick, so of course I wanted to give it a try because of how yummy it looked, drove across Kmart, parked in front of petco and walked to the big yellow truck, Hawaiian man and a young boy was inside the truck. Asked if I could get bacon, cheese & ranch($7) in a to go plate instead of the paper plate trays, and he said he'd have to charge me another dollar so I said okay I'm willing to pay no biggie, then I asked if I could get sour cream with it and told him I'm willing to pay another dollar(yes I'm talking business lol) he said alright I put the sour cream, ranch, and bacon on the bottom and the cheese on top, and I said alright thank you, so in total I paid $9 plus a $1 tip. I was stupid not to check my food when I was still there because I trusted them, once I got home I only found cheese on top and nothing on the bottom, like absolutely NOTHING! Just the cheese. Literally, I had paid 9 dollar on cheese and potatoe! Not to mention that their potatoes were really soggy and hard to chew, it was also too salty! Definitely don't recommend.....

I've tried Twisted Tater before at Eat the Street, and I remembered it being delicious, in a stoner-food, need-to-run-20-miles-but-worth-it, type of way.Last time I tried it was at this special event in Ewa Beach in the new Hoakalei area. Unfortunately the batch I got only sounded good in theory (1/3 chili cheese, 1/3 bacon and cheddar, and 1/3 furikaki mayo) First couple bites were yummy! But I soon realized that only the toppings were warm.. The chips themselves were cold and seemed to have been cooked a while ago. So the grease made them soggy and not as crispy..Wish their consistency was better, but I'd probably try them again in the future (I just can't stay away from anything potato). Also, $10 was a little steep...

I've always seen the Hawaiian Twisted Tater tent at events and the Makeke farmers markets but never took the dive to try it. So tonight my family and I finally did and are happy to have done so. We ordered a Chili Cheese Tater Tray for our appetizer. Talk about yum! It's the happy medium between chips and fries smothered in cheesy goodness. Can't get better than that. I just wish they had a permanent location to be able to go to for a fix! Next time we're definitely going to try the Bacon Cheese Ranch tray or maybe the bbq pulled pork tray. Both look deelish! For $7 you get a good heaping tray so that price is pretty good and they don't skimp on the toppings. You won't find naked taters so that's a good thing. Good job guys! See ya next time!
