While mostly a Employee Cafe one of the few left around these days. If you have the chance go there. While they usually have only two Main entree's a day there is quite a bit of variety to their menu, items like Alaskan Salmon Steamed Oriental Style, Chicken Lasagna, Steak with Crab legs, Pork Chop with mushroom gravy, Baked Chicken with Marsala sauce and various other things both standard and exotic. There is a Sandwich and Salad Bar and Wednesdays there is a Taco Salad bar. There are Burgers, Vegie burgers and Fries available also.I think the Highlight of the Cafe is the Entree's if you are there on a day that there is something special it is always very good for the price which is around $6.00 Very economical and you get a good portion with it.

Who wouldn't love having a cafeteria at their work place? On top of that, who wouldn't love paying less than 6 bucks for a full lunch with a drink? Doubly on top of that, who wouldn't love the employees/co-workers always talking story, smiling the moment you walk in? Yes, this is what goes down at the Aikane Cafe on a daily basis. Located on the 11th floor of the Hawaiiantel building on Bishop street, you can see the entire city from all angles. From morning to afternoon, this cafe stays open to serve the munchie needs for it's employees or visiting contractors. Breakfast, they serve oatmeal, cereal, coffee, musubis, waffles, breakfast burritos, tater tots, bacon, links, portuguese sausage, eggs, bagels etc..Lunch menu changes weekly. From adobo, to steak, to meatloaf, to chicken longrice, to pork lau lau, to saimin, to lasagna, to burgers/sandwiches, to furikake salmon...they serve it all...seriously. PLUS, there's a salad bar!The staff here is super friendly and work really well together with a smile on their face. OOOoooh...the luxuries of working here =)

Chef Mike and his team hook me up with all my catering events. They do an outstanding job no matter what budget I give.

I've only been here a handful of times with my mom but I was very impressed with the food selection. The plate lunch specials change daily I believe but they always give generous portions and it's very affordable. They have soups, salads and sandwiches if the plate lunch specials are out.

Very high turnover in staff due to mismanagement by the owner. Prices are inflated in relation to quality and taste of food. Menus are so repetitive that it feels employees of Hawaiian Telcom are sujected to eating Spaghetti, Spahgetti, Spaghetti everydaty. The reason AiKane Cafe exists is for the convenience for the employees who can be more productive at work without having to take the time to leave the building to buy whatever they wish, instead of being subjected to such service and quality of food. Highly recommend that Hawaiian Telcom executive management consider to offer other food vendors to bid on replacing the existing contract for the Aikane Cafe which will offer a much better service and pleasing atmosphere.

Can't go near the entrance of the building without inhaling the 2nd hand cigarette smoke. Awful!
