Hawaiian Princess Makaha

The following is a copy of my email to management.To Whom it may concern,We have absolutely enjoyed this beautiful location and building here at Makaha Hawiaain Princess here in Waianai, Oahu. However today, when we had a few issues to take care of, our experience with your staff was terrible. I don't understand how people that are working in a service industry based job have absolutely no clue as how to provided decent customer service. Namely Kim and Penny.We called earlier today to ask if someone could look at the dishwasher as it was not functioning properly and Kim just told me to wash the dishes by hand. She was very unpleasant ( I am trying to use nice words here, but you know what I mean by that). When my wife went down to register, she was dismissive and rude in communicating and told her that "In Hawaii, we don't use dishwashers". Mind you, we've been doing dishes manually up until this point and after a big dinner, we wanted to use the dishwasher.This afternoon, I went down to the office and as I walked in Penny was in the room outside of the office and didn't even turn around to see who was there. After standing there for a couple of minutes I had to literally interrupt her to ask her how to leave our keys as we are leaving early and to get a coffee packet. She was obviously put out that I interrupted her to do her job. She seemed a lot more pleasant after I asked her what her name was as she was not wearing any kind of badge or name tag. This is absolutely terrible customer service. I have never been treated with rude disregard over the last eight years that we have bought our timeshare. We travel several times a year and will probably not be choosing this location just because your customer service and management here is so rude and bad. What happened to the Aloha spirit, and good happy customer service?On the other hand, the security staff here have been amazing. No complaints whatsoever. But your office ladies, Kim and Penny have unacceptable communication. As a suggestion, maybe hire a young happy person instead of some moody, unsavory people to manage your customer service. Unfortunately, I will be posting this review a copy of thisIf you would like to discuss this further, feel free to return this email.

Just spent 4 wonderful weeks at the Hawaiian Princess. It's a great timeshare location! Rooms are always clean and well maintained. Staff are helpful. If you like remote Hawaii without masses of tourists, this is a great place to vacation. On the other hand, if high prices, small rooms, thousands of tourists, crowded beaches, and overpriced Waikiki restaurants are your liking, Hawaiian Princess ain't your place I love the peacefulness of Waianae. Glad it's got a bad rap so masses stay away

I have been a timeshare owner at the Hawaii Princess since 1981. It has always been well maintained and clean. The beach is always clean, not crowded and, easily accessed.It is a great escape from the masses of people in Waikiki for a quiet vacation.

Great building to stay at- has a nice private pool and hot tub, rec room with ping pong table, and grilling area.

Beautiful scenery. Security on duty. Close to local businesses. Highly recommended. Snorkeling is amazing here

First of all it's a beautiful section of the beach, however the hobos are bad, they have permanent camps right on the beach beside the resort. Secondly they do not allow you to turn the air below 70, so with the sun shining in the window get ready to boil alive. Third, there is pigeons that hang out on the balcony and crap all over the outside chairs, once we left the cleaning lady's blamed us for the crap outside. Also I think the resort is trying to get extra money from us by saying the rooms were a mess. We washed all towels we washer all dishes and picked up everything on the floor, we took out all the garbage all we left was a pack of water and some snacks on the counter. By the way there are bugs in the bathroom. Do not recommend this resort.

Paradise. It's private, modern, clean, the staff is friendly & always helpful . A ways from anything, but what do you need with a white sandy beach at you fingertip? Grab your groceries & make yourself at home. Once you stay here, you will never want to leave. It's my home away from home!

Well to start on the way there for the majority of the drive down the west side of the island it is literally all homeless people and encampments. No this isn't the resorts fault but I definitely will not be staying here or on this side of the island again because of this. We didn't feel safe going anywhere close for dinner as there were druggies everywhere. The only thing that helped make you feel "safer" is that it is gated where you park your car but even then there were homeless people on the cliffs near the hill to the left of the resort. It's nice because every unit has a beachfront view (minus the homeless people walking) along with chairs and beach gear you can use. The unit we were in was awful though for numerous reasons. Never have I had so many ants when staying in one of these timeshares. They were all over in this unit and were a pain as we had to hide food and put it all in plastic baggies to keep them from ruining our food. The ac unit in this unit didn't work either and when you're out and about all day you just want to come back to a nice air conditioned room. Nope it was busted in the entire resort supposedly like a month before we arrived. The traffic trying to get back to the hotel DAILY was a nightmare and took us over an hour everyday just to get back. I will not be staying here or anywhere close to hear in the future.

I know this is not the fault of the resort but it isn't a very nice sight. I would say stay somewhere else. If you stay here there is one person that greeted us and was the nicest man Tom the maintenance guy. They will only supply you with some bare minimums like a few rolls of paper towels and toilet paper. When you ask for more be prepared to go to the store to purchase some. We never had to do this at our other timeshare property. This will be the first and last time we will stay here. They also wanted us to take out our trash before we leave. I'm sorry but maybe next time I will go somewhere else. The security guard told us to make sure we don't leave anything on the lani because it can be stolen. We live in crazy times and visit crazy places. Trading Places should not be part of this. The beach is good, the room was clean, gated parking is very appreciated, security was friendly and the price is great.
