Hawaii Waves Surf School

Ash is an amazing surf instructor. I called him last minute as I had an 8hr layover and wanted to get some surfing in. He was flexible and kind enough to fit me into his schedule within the next hour. He prepared three boards for me to use.Ash taught me things that I didn't even know, despite having surfed many times for many years. For example Ash taught me how to line myself up with a marker on the land, taught me how to paddle more efficiently, and how to turn in the water. Things that I didn't even know I could be doing better.Before even getting into the water, Ash was teaching me things to look at and watch out for from observing the ocean. Ash also has a zen about him, and mentions fun analogies of surfing to yoga, meditation, and even crypto trading. Thank you Ash!

Wonderful experience! All the instructors are great! Everyone got up and loved it! Uncle Tommy, Jacob and Gerry were so patient with our 5 Wild boys. The owner Ash is helpful and so organized with his communication. 5/5 I totally recommend!

I had an amazing time with Ash! I had a bit of previous surfing experience but I treated this as my first surf as I needed guidance. Ash was a great instructor, he is very knowledgeable and was able to break everything down really well from concept to execution. He spotted out exactly what my issues were and coached me through it and from that I was able to catch several waves. A lot of really great takeaways! Booked a private lesson for two. Online website was easy to navigate and instructions on meet up spot were easy to follow. Our surf instructor was Ash. He was punctual and easy going. He is a great surf instructor and was very patient with us. He also informed us a lot on surf culture and ocean safety. He gave us feedback after each catching each wave as well. We were able to get a lot of surfing in and had lots of fun without being overwhelmed. Would recommend him to anyone!

We had an awesome time surfing with Ash! our group of 3 had a private lesson-- first part on the beach to learn the fundamentals and safety, second part in the water riding waves! We were all able to get up and ride waves right away, and got several waves in each during our time on the water. It was a successful day and we all felt very safe the entire time, despite the ocean being very crowded. Definitely recommend surfing with Ash!

My husband and I took surfing lessons with Ash and his team on 3 different days over the course of our trip. They are all absolutely amazing! They spend lots of time explaining everything and ensure that you feel prepared, safe and most importantly have fun. Ash and team are really great instructors, you can't go wrong with any of them. If you're a little nervous or hesitant, don't be. They make it so calm, relaxed and fun... Don't hesitate another minute to book your lesson. You'll be so glad you did! Surfing with them is a really wonderful experience you won't want to miss.

Wonderful and fun staff. My kids loved the lessons and the time Chris took to explain techniques. They had so much fun and the cost for the service was great!!! Other services offer a free T-shirt but the cost is more. Hawaii Waves was perfect for us and the service was exceptional!!

I had the absolute best 3 days out in Haleiwa with Ash and Josh. They were incredibly helpful and got me to ride my first waves!!! Being out there felt comfortable knowing I had these awesome coaches with me. Definitely recommend no matter if you've never surfed before!!!

Ash was a wonderful instructor! My friend and I took a semi private lesson from Ash and he did well tailoring his teaching style to our individual needs. We both appreciated the on shore portion of the lesson and felt comfortable to get out on the ocean. Ash connected with us by checking in with how we felt physically and mentally. Ash pushed me to improve on each wave and used words of encouragement to remind me to be practical and intentional on my surf board. It was a very positive experience!

My wife and I got a private lesson from Ash. He was fantastic!! We were beginners and he was thorough and patient. He clearly knew what he was doing. He was also friendly and outgoing. I highly recommend taking a private lesson from him. You won't regret it.
