The "North Shore" is a 17-mile stretch of coastline on the north side of Oahu.If you're visiting Oahu and want to visit one of the beaches that comprise the North Shore, you'll probably travel along Kamehameha Highway and pass through the town of Haleiwa."Hawaii Surf & Sail" is easy to find, as it has visible signage. If you're looking for a branded T-shirt or accessories to buy as souvenirs, they have those. But walking thought the shop, I would say Hawaii Surf & Sail is more of an "outfitter". It is a company which provides equipment and supplies for the pursuit of certain activities (in this case surfing, diving, snorkeling, etc.). They stock a lot of premium and well-known brands.

Another great shop on the North Shore that sells everything you need for your water outings! Snorkeling gear, backpacks, bathing suits, towels, tie dye everything! Even casual clothing for men and women. Most with Hawaiin prints. Needed a mesh bag for my own gear but they only sell bags with snorkeling gear. Guy working at counter told me to walk further down the street to Sea N Surf, and sure enough, they had it!Located right on main street amongst the many shops and restaurants, worth stopping in.

Unskilled sales people, they do not take returns even thought their receipts state that it does. Was an old wrinkly lady and a middle aged man. Both have no cashier skills and stated they aren't trained to do refunds and they don't know how. WTF?? So I I'm posting a 1 star because how they presented themselves to me unprofessionally, not fully trained to work the front(which to me is lack of a simple skill), and no customer service etiquette at all. Yet told me to come back tomorrow when the manager is in and they only give store credit. So this the last time I'm buying from them. Not a store to buy with confidence. I suggest Boardriders club, they are skilled sales person and refunds are accepted no questions ask.

We stopped in just before closing and the gentleman working was amazing. He was super friendly and more than willing to help me out. Definitely planning on stopping back when I get more time.

Looked everywhere for a specific freestyle watch that I insisted on having and stumbled upon this great surf shop. Walked in and was immediately welcomed and saw the display of freestyle watches. At first, I was disappointed to see that the watch I wanted was not there but it was difficult to find and I didn't expect them to have it.However, I was lucky to stumble in the shop at the right time and they had just got a shipment of more freestyle watches. They were kind enough to open up each box to see exactly which watch that I wanted. All of a sudden, I burst out with a sense of happiness and relief to find the watch I'd been looking for. They totally made my trip to Haleiwa worth it!!

Do not buy expensive items without giving them a thorough looking at. I made the mistake of taking home $200 sunglasses that had a wobble in the hinge. The no return/refund policy caught me by surprise. I should have known better than to buy from a tourist store but as an island resident I liked the idea of supporting local. They don't need local support, thats what the tourists and their deep pockets are for.

I was looking for an underwater phone case and went to 4 other surf shops before finding one at Hawaii Surf and Sail. The manager was awesome, he answered all my questions and gave me a discount. The case is great and I've already shot a ton of epic ocean stuff, thanks again you guys are rock!

My granddaughter bought a neat shirt at your store while on vacation. Unfortunately her luggage was lost by airline so the shirt never got back home. How can we get this shirt replaced? Can we have it mailed to us if we pay postage?
