Nate's customer service is out of this world! If I could give 10 stars, I would. I planned a product showcase at SALT at Our Kaka'ako, a venue I had never worked with before. By the end of my first site visit with Nate, he filled in almost all my dozens of question marks, and as we continued to plan, he was always prompt to communicate with me with any changes or questions coming from either end. His extensive knowledge in the event planning space made the whole process less stressful for me and my team. While customer service is always great, no one forgets the bottom line, and Hawaii Special Events offered very affordable pricing, and he allowed us to make changes throughout the planning process, even on the day of! He kept me in contact with all of his contractors, making sure everyone was on the same page. On the day of, the set up crew was great to work with, and they really turned it into a stunning venue for our 500+ audience members!I would highly recommend anyone who takes it upon themselves to go above and beyond what's expected. Big or small, Hawaii Special Events can do it all! (so clique, but so true!)

Once again, Nate was fantastic! We used Nate's services once before for our older daughter's graduation party, and we were blown away by the quality of his work. So Nate was the obvious choice for our younger daughter's graduation party. Before the event, Nate came by to discuss our plans and executed them precisely as we wanted. He set up everything, from the tents to the chairs and light fixtures, without any issues. We, including the guests, were all very impressed with his work. I would definitely use him in the future. We highly recommend Nate and Hawaii Special Events for any special occasion!

I would give Nate at Hawaii Special Events 10 stars if I could. Nate worked with me for almost a whole year planning the tents and equipment I needed for my wedding. Not only did he work with our budget and revise our proposal several times as our needs changed over the course of the year, he was so professional, communicative, and followed-up with me religiously. Out of all my individual vendors, Nate was the one who took initiative to coordinate a site visit with my various vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page. He worked with my caterer to make sure all the equipment I needed was included so we wouldn't be missing anything - even last minute down to the last tablecloth for my DJ! He also gave me sound advice when it came to my table set-up and chairs, and provided me with perspectives that I wouldn't have thought of this being my first (and hopefully only) rodeo at planning a wedding. He shared with me his thoughts of where we should be seated or where the cake should be placed thinking of the background for pictures, the noise of the kitchen and wait staff, etc. As far as the tents and equipment, Nate kept his word and schedule. His crew showed up promptly on the dates and times he said he would. We had three 20x20 Warner peak tents together so it was a 20x60 together, a chef's peak tent where the food was prepared, a scullery tent, a DJ/Dance peak floor tent, and different lighting in the tents and wedding grounds. We also rented all the tables, chairs, cocktail rounds, bar umbrella, and dance floor from Nate as well. It started raining on the day they were setting up, and Nate said he would come back the next morning to finish the leg drapes and other final touches so the tents and everything looked clean and not muddy from the rain. Also, my wedding was all the way in Laie and not a quick drive and Nate took these additional steps to ensure everything was perfect. In terms of pricing, HSE does cost more than some other vendors, but from all my research and what I've been told, you definitely get what you pay for. THIS IS SO TRUE! If you're looking to have a classy and elegant wedding, I highly recommend paying a little more and going with HSE. It's worth it to reduce your own stress and headache, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Finally, Nate is just an overall great guy. He's friendly, funny, and easy to get along with. He is passionate about what he does and really takes care of his clients. He knows what he's talking about and you'll be in great hands with him.

We attended a wedding at the Waikiki Aquarium and Hawaii Special Events provided the tenting and lighting and it was SPECTACULAR!!! The tent was big enough to hold over 300 guests, a dance floor and the buffet line all under the tent. The bride & groom also had their own tented area (connected to the main tent) that had a clean backdrop and a BEAUTIFUL chandelier!! The lighting for the tent was perfect for the outdoor night wedding, white Christmas lights lined the edges of the tent and lighting throughout the top of the tent was provided. The lighting made the tent very bright and open (you could hardly tell that there were over 300 people under this huge tent). The lighting was also dimmed during the dancing. The tent was HUGE, well put together and very clean! Great job Hawaii Special Events, another great job!

We have done two events with HSE and the amount of professionalism that Nate has displayed during the entire planning process as effortless as possible.Nate's experience in Special Events Logistics shines with every sit-down. He was able to share past experiences with events of a similar caliber as ours, and was able to point out exactly what we needed in order to provide the best possible experience the day of. He ensured that fire codes were met with every tent layout, which is only a fraction of a degree of professionalism HSE has to offer - something I previously wasn't used to. Nate definitely sets a high standard of quality service that anyone would appreciate! Through his years in the industry, he's created quite the network of event planning businesses. In our last event, the tent size that we were vying for was out of stock due to our last minute booking. However, Nate was able to get a hold of another tent from one of his many contacts. This was absolutely above & beyond from any of my past experiences with vendors in my years of event planning. HSE provides more than fair pricing for the offerings that they bring to the table!Event Planning isn't an easy task, but HSE definitely makes that task that much more manageable; that much easier. By giving us multiple layout options to consider to the walkthroughs for each event, it made for the best possible experience I could ask for. Nate is really easy to talk to & communicates well which created such a friendly and pleasant environment during our planning process.One amazing note: Nate even stopped by the day of the event to make sure everything was going smoothly! It was refreshingly pleasant, that displays how thorough and passionate he is. He never failed to make sure we were nothing but satisfied, which again, was something I haven't been used to the past few years. I just had my wedding this past Saturday. I went through Nate for my tents and lighting. He was always on it with keeping me updated with the things I needed and what I needed to do next. Always kept in contact with me and also other vendors. He also recommend me to The Catering Connection for my tables and chairs, which they were very reliable. As this was my big day, I wanted it to be perfect and Nate did an awesome job! His tents are beautiful and well maintained. He also included some lace linen for my bridal party table and also our sweetheart table and added some nice touches to my lighting which matched perfectly for my rustic themed wedding. I would highly recommend this company to anyone!

Nate and his team did such a great job at our wedding reception. We wanted an outdoor wedding feel at an indoor ballroom by having bistro lights strung around the perimeter of the room. When we walked in, we were taken away by how beautiful it looked because they brought our vision to life. So many guests complimented us on the romantic ambience the lights added and it was just perfect.

Awesome customer service!!! I planned an outdoor party and was looking for bistro style lighting. I contacted multiple party rental companies but I chose Hawaii special events for multiple reasons: 1) Nate responded immediately and had excellent communication throughout the planning process 2) he gave very helpful suggestions and sent photos of lighting options, 3) ensured the lighting was exactly what I had envisioned, and 3) pricing was very good.The company is very reliable - Nate is very punctual and will even show up early. They are clean and the set up crew made sure to tie all extraneous wires to ensure the site looked beautiful. Finally, Nate even messaged us to follow up to see how the event went. Overall, I was overly impressed with Nate - he went above and beyond what we expected. I would highly recommend Hawaii special events for any party!!

First off, have no worries when you are hiring Nate & his team. Very professional, on time, easy to work with. Nate & his team have a very keen understanding of weather patterns and the rhythm/natural movements of large groups or parties. They worked very closely with us for weeks in advance to ensure a nice flow for our 40 person wedding party. Nate's suggestions were valid & on point. He has worked in this industry for many years and is familiar with many properties on Oahu. Mahalo,Nate and his team!!
