We had the most incredible time on our private trail ride with our family of 5. It was the first time all of us had experienced horseback riding together & it was unforgettable. The trail ride was about an hour from Waikiki, heading towards the North Shore. Our two guides were fantastic - they were not only friendly but also very knowledgeable. The entire ride lasted about 1.5 hours. No cantering, No galloping, No splashing in the ocean. It was a peaceful & an enjoyable experience. The horses are well-trained & have a gentle friendly demeanor. We learned that they are all working polo horses.Toward the end of our ride, we became aware of a nearby wildfire. The guides handled the situation with utmost professionalism, ensuring the safety of both the riders & the horses. Despite the smell of smoke in the air, the guides remained calm & focused, reassuring us all.The cost of the ride was around $700, and we made sure to show our appreciation by tipping the guides. Although it was a significant expense, we all agreed it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience worth it. Check out some of the photos & vids I shared here! One tip for future riders: have a light meal before the ride, as the site doesn't offer food, only cold drinks for purchase.

I'm surprised there's only 1 other review. This place is after the Polo field near Dillingham airfield, so it's off the beaten path but if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and see a different side of the island, this is great. It will take about 1-hr to drive from Waikiki so I suggest you make a day trip out here and explore Haleiwa/north shore. Each guide can take 4 guests so the group is small and the sunset ride we did was so pretty and peaceful. You can even do private rides if you want more interaction with the guide.

Per the landing page, "Oahu Horseback Riding on the North Shore". Take note - NOT true. The "Mountain Vista Tours" are on the west side of the island accessed from the south shore. We were a last minute booking for the next day. We went back to the stables we passed on the NORTH SHORE. Figured out it wasn't there and there was no way we were going to make it an hour away. There is 1 very small sentence on a click thru page which is at the end of a paragraph that states, "Mountain Trailrides are not located on the Northshore." (Had to go back and look for it). It's on one of the 5 screens you need to click past to book. So my fault for not being more careful. BUT - we called, told them the issue, and asked to be rescheduled; we were bluntly told - NO. Doubtful this is their first rodeo with this very deceptive web booking. 1 star for no ALOHA.

My wife and I had scheduled a private trail ride on our anniversary on May 1st. The two young ladies getting everything ready were so professional! Ella and Frieda sure were pleasant and informative as to what to expect during the ride. Frieda was our guide and such a polite and friendly young lady! On the way back my wife got severely overheated and had to get off the horse and sit in the shade. Frieda immediately went into action and called the stables and had them send a car for my wife. All in all it was a VERY enjoyable and stress free ride and once again thanks to Frieda and Ella's professionalism my wife was ok! I can't recommend this business enough! Thanks girls for a very memorable anniversary!

Phoebe was awesome!!! From the moment we arrived, she was extremely welcoming! She introduced us to the horses and let us know who we could pet while we waited! We absolutely loved the horses we rode, enjoyed the beautiful beach views, and the friendly conversation! We would 100% recommend Hawaii Polo Oceanfront! Sarah was also friendly and welcoming signing us up to ride!

My 11 year old daughter loves to ride horses, so when we went to Oahu, her one dream was ride horses on the beach. So that's what we did. We were staying in Honolulu, and it was about a 45 minutes drive - which was great by itself. Hawaii Polo Oceanfront was fantastic from start to finish - booking online was easy, the horses were gorgeous and already tacked when we got there, and we received a quick safety lesson before getting on the horses. The horses were so gentle. Phoebe was our guide and she was a ray of sunshine - engaging, funny, and provided a lot of information about the area while riding. She also took time to get some beautiful pictures of us! The ride was about an hour long, and we got to see both the beach front and mountain views. I highly recommend this for a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Experiencing the beauty of the north shore from horseback is truly a pleasure. The ride takes you very close to the beach and you can admire the ocean on one side and nountains in the background on the other. The place is pretty secluded and it was just the two of us and our guide. The horses are beautiful and well cared for. The guide was knowledgeable and very nice. There are also a couple of friendly goats roaming about. At the end of the ride you can feed your horse some snacks and sneak one to the goat too. The entire crew at the ranch is friendly and pleasant.

My group (all family and friends) were all novice riders, some having never been on a horse before. We opted for the Sunset Ride, which was a great choice. Despite being novices, the guides and other employees did a great job of making everyone comfortable with the experience. Instructions were provided and expectations for how horses might behave were very helpful and eased the apprehension that anyone might have had. Through conversation, it was obvious that those who worked there really loved what they were doing. You get the distinct impression that the horses are well-cared for and very comfortable with trail work. The setting is so tranquil and quite beautiful. The greatest advantage of this particular location is that you have a view of the green mountains and of the white-sand beach and blue ocean. The length of the ride is really perfect. It turns out to be about an hour and a half, give or take. You really lose track of time as you walk along the beach, through the trees and past the polo field. The guides, Gina and Adrianna were very conversational and stayed engaged throughout the ride. Both gave the impression that they were professional at their job, but still able to keep everything low key. It was interesting to hear them explain the different personalities of the horses. We did have one "event" during our ride. Two of the horses got a little scrappy, causing one of the horses to rear up a little and the other to react suddenly, leading to a wardrobe malfunction - one of the saddle straps broke causing the saddle to become loose. The rider was able to fall free of the horse and Adrianna, the closest guide, quickly made sure that everything remained under control and that the rider was fine. The fact that we were on the beach helped cushion the fall. Sounds more dramatic than it really was - it was over within seconds. A new strap was retrieved, the saddle was set back up and the rider was able to mount up and continue the ride. I would definitely do this ride again and recommend it to others. It did not seem like a typical touristy attraction, but more just of people sharing something that they love to do in a location that they love. It is a preferred alternative to staying in Gucci-town, which it appears Honolulu has become.
