It's not just books...Located right on the curbside of Aloha Tower Marketplace is this shop that's filled with all sorts of items you wouldn't imagine to find as bookstores are basically books of course and various accessories in relating to books though the sign says Barnes & Noble which is more a student supplies shop where it's filled with all things "Sharks" all sorts of outerwear from hats, shirts, decals, mugs, blankets and more along with a bunch of items every students need at their convenience as well.Remember this is part Barnes & Noble so there's a section filled with books of all kinds and a bunch of games...jenga, scrabble and even Monopoly lol! With that being a student does have it's issues...for me there always is and I noticed a section that's all things Essential Oils with individual various scents I was excited and intrigued the variety they have and actually picked up a Pen Diffuser which is nice and portable as you can open one or all four scents (Joy, focus, Energy and Calm) now how cool is that!Staff here is just a delight and told me that it was the first pen diffuser sold lol and they do validate parking (which is free for the first hour) so you can shop guilt free which creates more calmness as I shop and find unique items that makes me find my zen.Thank you!

Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii...Once in a while, Donna O. sends me photos of things I might like. For example, pictures of Hello Kitty face masks, scrub tops with cute prints, and Cony items (the white bunny from Line Friends). Thanks, Donna! Most recently, Donna sent me a photo of Line Friends items at the Ala Moana Shopping Center location of Barnes & Noble. I thought that I would be smart and go to the Barnes & Noble at Aloha Tower Marketplace for a better selection of Line Friends products. This Aloha Tower Marketplace location is closer to me than the Ala Moana store. However, parking is in a paid lot. Luckily, I found metered street parking on Bishop Street about a block away and walked over. This particular Barnes and Noble is more like a bookstore for Hawaii Pacific University (HPU). There were many items with the school logo: a shark! Isn't that kind of cool? Besides having books and school supplies, this Barnes & Noble carried HPU Aloha Shirts, t-shirts, jackets, hoodies, coffee mugs, key chains, lanyards, koozies, face masks, caps, etc. There were no Line Friends products. Shucks!I did enjoy the air conditioning, pleasant decor, and looking at the cute plushies, greeting cards, and other merchandise. I guess I will have to go to the Ala Moana Shopping Center location of Barnes & Noble for Cony items. I did look online, but I didn't want to pay for shipping. I should just bite the bullet because online shopping is more convenient in the long run, right?

Ok I am playing a gig at Gordon Biersch and I cannot find my clip to hold my massive iPad to my music stand. I use one of those clips that hold a bunch of papers together to clip my iPad's case to my music stand. So after frantic searching, I started walking to my car. Then it starts to rain.... Ok maybe not.I start to think, all these students.... Where do they get their supplies???? Then I look to the right and see Barnes and Noble. What? No way!I peek in and see STUFF! Stuff that looks relevant to me! After looking around I SEE THE CLIPSYes!Right then the worker asks me if I need help. I tell her, no, I found what I want! I bunch of clips! Priced at a reasonable $4!I tell her how great this store is, and how useful. I ask her how long it's been here? I say "when did you open? Please don't tell me one year!"She says they have been open for FOUR! OopsTo cap it off, YES, they take Apple Pay! I paid with my watch and walked back to Gordon Biersch to start set with Ben Vegas and Maila Gibson YAY!!!!!

Surprised to be the first to review this Barnes and noble, which is actually more of a student book store for the pacific university of Hawaii. This is the place to go if you want PUH gear, they also have some other random books including kids' books with hawaiian inspiration (for example we purchased an adaptation of the gingerbread man, 'cept he's called musubi man). Definitely appreciate the parking validation, surprised that the staff person working there was a student from a different university

After being unaware of textbook prices my freshmen year in college, I avoid buying textbooks from here. So expensive! If you can, try to purchase your books online or ask other students before purchasing. It could save you money. Be sure the items are what you're looking for--you wouldn't want to come back again if there's a long line to do the same thing. Before classes start, first weeks of classes and the ending of the semester are times I'm usually in for books, my U-Pass and occasionally shopping / order pick-up. Also during those times the bookstore gets packed and there's a long line. Ugh.I like some of the merchandise and usually buy items that are on sale or if I can use the coupon stamp thingy they provide us. Merchandise are always changing. It's quite small though and when lines get long it's wrapped around the store and out the door.

Good place if you have to get supplies and books at HPU. Some of he prices for materials is cheaper at other places but it's very convenient for a one stop shop for all your class needs.

They recently moved to Aloha Towers. I wish I knew this earlier but it's ok. Bigger parking at the new location, however they do not validate your parking tickets. So it's $5 dollars after 4pm, and $1.50 to the hour before that. New location is tailored for the students who accommodate the dorms there. Renovation seems to be ongoing. I like the less busy area, so it's a plus. It also feels bigger in there.

I'm so glad that HPU decided to renovate and relocate the bookstore. Before it was super hot, I always end up sweating a ton and carrying books on top of that AND climbing up and down those stairs in the BH building.NOWWWW it's air conditioned (YES!!!!), spacious, and located in a great building. Everyone there is super helpful, during the beginning and end of the semester it gets crazy cause duh, the whole student BODY needs to buy and sell their books.Textbooks WILL ALWAYS be expensive and yes there are other options but since there is a great system here and it's fast to order your books and pick it up online, it's a lot more convenient.Waiting in line isn't as slow as how it used to be.There's lots of products and unlike before, they now have the space to present their merchandise. My only problem is that sometimes it's difficult to move around, especially when there is a long line. I feel like this store can't handle people with junk in their trunk if you catch my drift hehehe.Yelp 365 Challenge #43/365

When I started my education at HPU the bookstore was located in the Bishop Hotel building on the second floor. It was always crowded, always hot in there and when selling books back they had a little room in the hallway that they opened up for that. Since they moved to the current location it's nicer to go and buy books. Yes, the place still gets crowded but hey, what would you expect when all students need to buy books at the same time. They have more things for sale, more clothes and HPU items. The website also works which I enjoy. I usually get my books online, pay for them there and them pick them up. I have never stood in line to pick up my books from the pick-up window. The people that work there are always polite and have always helped me the best way they can. The only negative thing are of course the prices, both for books and for merchandise. But I can live with that.
