Hawaii Ono Shrimp Truck

Sooo much better than Giovanni's!! We a got two palates at BOTH places. Both shrimp scampi and spicy (garlic) shrimp HONO's was soo much better on so many levels. Bigger shrimp, bigger portions and the rice for the garlic shrimp came with some amazing nutty topping.

The cashier was very nice and friendly, but not my favorite place to get garlic shrimp. It didn't have as much garlic as I hoped for. However, they do give you a good amount. It cost the same amount as other shrimp trucks. There's an option for 5 extra pieces for $4. In the plate it had 2 scoops of white rice and coleslaw (shredded cabbage w/ a sour dressing). There are many other options at this food truck, such as kalbi that looked good. Next time I'll have to ask for extra garlic!There was about 7 long picnic tables. it's a pretty popular area Parking can kind of be hard to find, but I don't feel like I've ever had a problem. You'll definitely leave with a full happy stomach if you come to this food truck. It also didn't leave my stomach feeling bad bc there wasn't an overload of butter.

This was the best food we have had since we got to Hawaii. We got the garlic shrimp and ribs and it was bomb! A lil extra garlic sauce on the rice and we both wished we had our own. The only thing is they were running out of food by 3pm on a Saturday so get there early.

It's more than just good shrimp, it's an experience!I began peeling and eating...I just dug in, hands, face... it was so good I just didn't care that people were staring!

My first experience eating from a shrimp truck and it was absolutely amazing. The spicy garlic prawns were simply delicious. They were 12 plump prawns with lots of garlic and a sweet and spicy sauce. It came with 2 scoops of rice and a salad. The people running the truck were a mother and daughter team and they were the cutest. We also ordered their Garlic Shrimp and BBQ Shrimp but I just loved the spicy garlic sauce. My breath was kicking after this meal for the rest of the day.This is the truck right next to Giovanni's Shrimp Truck. We tried Giovanni's and their famous scampi platter but after eating the spicy garlic shrimps from Hawaii Ono, nothing compared especially for a spicy sweet lover like myself =). I will certainly return.

So I have to admit...my friends and I were trying to go to the famous Giovanni's Shrimp truck, but they were already closed. But the Hawaii Ono Shrimp truck next to it was still open. I ordered the spicy garlic shrimp plate that comes with I believe about 12 shrimp, 2 scoops of rice and a cabbage salad. I would say that a plate is enough to share with 2 people for a snack, and enough for one person for a decent meal.I was in heaven from my first bite. I was surprised as to how fresh and tasty the shrimp was from this little truck. The sauce was very good as well especially drizzled on the rice.Only one note, if you are hungry like we were, It took a bit of time for it to be ready. It is, however, be definitely worth it!

I'm visiting from Los Angeles, CA...and this is one of the best shrimp plates I have EVER Had. The rice is the perfect pair , the cabbage is a nice touch to make this a fresh plate. The SAUCE IS AMAZING... this food is incredibly FRESH. My family and I initially bought spicy garlic plate and spicy butter plates. Amazing. It was so good we went and got another plate before they closed. They are also really really nice. Good prices for amazing food and they serve big portions. 10/10 recommend

I've been coming here for the past 13 years and it's still is the best shrimp truck in the island. Way better than Giovanni's! I always get their spicy garlic shrimp with extra shrimp. It's really spicy but it's the good kind spice. Every person I brought here with me always loved it!

We went visit another shrimp food truck but decided to try Ono as well. We were disappointed with Giovanni since the food is not delicious at all. But Ono was very impressive. The shrimps are big, the garlic is perfectly cooked, the butter favor is perfect and not oo salty. They have cabbage as well with rice that goes perfectly together. Ono is highly recommended all their dishes are delicious. Will certInly recommend and will come back.

Yummy. Line wasn't too long. Picnic tables to sit at as well. Overall Is was a good experience.
