Marc and Dale are an absolute godsend. We are so grateful to have found them. Sweetest people you will ever meet and so good with the kids. My daughter has been taking piano lessons for about 6 years now and loves it. Highly recommend if you have a little one that you want to get started with music (they office different instruments and vocal classes as well).

My youngest daughter has been playing drums for almost a year now and loves it! We started her at a different more expensive school CJMS. Some kid in our church shared this gem of a place with us. Not only is this school awesome, but the teachers are pretty rad too! Not to mention the cost!! I saved almost 50% a month on tuition sending my daughter here! So much so that a month later, I signed my oldest up for lessons. What I pay per month for both girls to attend classes is still cheaper than sending just one of my girls to drumming class at CJMS. Here's the difference:CJMS one on one 30 min lessons about $120-$130/month depending if a month had 4-5weeks in it makeup sessions are easy to schedule.MusicWorksgroup setting option - teachers highly encourage the group setting for youth just starting out. The group dynamic helps keep each other focused and the drive to be better is eminent. My daughter really benefitted from this because she was able to watch her classmates and mimic their movements.one on one lessons are an option but group settings are highly encouraged.one on one - about $95/month for 30 min sessions once a week. duet setting - about $65/month for 30 min sessions per week. 3+ group setting - $55/month for 30 min sessions per week.I'm no math genius but I understand savings!! The difference is pretty clear! My daughters love their teachers and they look forward doing their weekly homework assignments. That's right homework!

For quite some time, I've always passed by this place located in the Pearlridge Shopping Center without knowing what it was. The entrance is right next to 'Gamestop' on the second floor of Pearlridge Uptown (I hope I got that right but for those that remember, 'Phase I'). At first glance, one would think that the entrance is the administrative office for the shopping center although however in reality, this place has studios to instruct various musical instruments including: piano, drums and guitar. This place gets crowded on Saturdays and if you must come here with a stroller, the narrow hallway is almost always lined-up with A LOT of students so use caution! We haven't been coming here very long but if the crowds, the limited rooftop parking at the shopping center during classes, and the reasonable tuition prices are any kind of indicator for quality and value; then this place is hard to beat! I did mention tuition here because when enrolled in classes, the program is structured around the typical school year schedule which will include holidays with classes consisting of students of the same educational grade levels and ages. The class rosters also range from as few as 2 students up to 5. They even assign weekly home work including make-up work should the students miss any sessions! In conclusion, with a friendly staff, assigned instructors and a well structured program, I can't find anything to complain about!Highly recommended! ;-)

Hawaii MusicWorks has the philosophy that "A child learns to talk before they learn how to read, so you can learn to play an instrument before learning how to read music." This philosophy is not something you will find in their Offices or on their website nor did any employee publicly state this. This philosophy is something that I learned as a student there, walking out of the studio on my very first lesson being able to play the first verse of Maroon 5's "Sugar" on the keyboard. I was amazed. My very first lesson and I walked out learning to play without even having a full understanding of how to read music. I was impressed, not by my keyboarding "skills" but at the approach of how music is taught here. Granted, I am not trying to sing in a band or start a music career, I just enjoy music and wanted to learn how to play. And I've been so much fun doing so that after about a year I signed up for Voice lessons too (on top of learning the Keyboard). Also, my daughter saw how much I have progressed in such a short time that she wanted to sign up as well--and so we signed her up for Keyboarding lessons as well. I highly recommend coming here if you or your child ever wants to learn how to play the Keyboard, Guitar, Drums, and / or take Voice lessons.

My 7 year old daughter has been attending piano lessons with Mr. Mark for almost 3 years now and she has come to enjoy and love music with his unique and unorthodox instruction! I forget sometimes that she's playing the piano versus music playing on my Pandora station! We started off on Schofield with the Mini Mozart program but as my daughter rapidly moved forward with her lessons within the first 6-8 months, Mr. Mark offered her a spot at his studio in Aiea. We have not looked back since! The entire staff is very friendly, helpful, and also have a passion and love for the musical arts! If you, your child, or someone you know enjoys music or wants to learn how to play the piano, drums, guitar, or receive vocal lessons at an affordable rate, stop by Hawai'i MusicWorks! Mr. Mark and his staff not only teach you how to play or sing but they INSPIRE you to bring out your inner musical spirit and ENJOY music!

My son goes to Ms Kira whom is a very talented musician. I encourage you to check it out and see for yourself what they have to offer. We couldn't be happier with what my son has learned and how much he has grown as a pianist and a person.
