We chartered a Full Day trip (8 hours) on the Mazel Tov thru these guys.Boat was a wreck. No running water in the head or galley. Head barely worked. Trolled all day and got one bite. 5 lines in, no live bait, lures only.Owners should be ashamed of this boat. Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing should pull it from their fleet. $1300 pissed away. 3 very experienced deep sea fishers in our group. Worst trip ever.Don't use these guys.

I missed the boat and lost $300. Part of this was my fault. But much of it was the fault of the company, for emails that were badly designed and for leaving the dock before the departure time.*Some background: After booking over the phone, they sent me a text and email confirmation. Both said 7:00AM**, without any indication that this was a departure time. Later in the email, in a visually clear area, there was a section that indicated that 7:00AM was a departure time. Further down, in a less visually clear area, there was a note that check-in time was 6:30AM.With that background out of the way, I have to admit that I messed up. I didn't see the section in the body that said 6:30AM check in and I assumed that the boat would probably depart around 7:05 or 7:10. However, even though I am partially at fault, I also think the company is partially at fault for a couple of reasons:1. From a user design perspective, the email and texts were badly designed. Realistically, customers often skim over emails, and so it's the company's responsibility to make the important things clear and visually apparent.2. I still arrived at 6:58, believing that I still have about 10 minutes. But the boat had already left, i.e. before the 7AM departure time.* Perhaps others may disagree, but I think that leaving exactly on time -- let alone 2 minutes before departure time -- is overly strict for this type of business. If I were running a leisure sport fishing business, where customers are spending hundred of dollars and arriving at locations that they might not be familiar with, I would probably give a few minutes of buffer time as a reasonable courtesy. And I certainly would not leave before the departure time.* They dispute this, but I am quite confident I arrived 2 minutes before departure time.** To be fair to them, the top of the email was a calendar panel automatically inserted by Gmail indicating 7AM as the event time. However, when I pointed this out to the company, they didn't show very much interest in making the email clearer to compensate.

When I booked the trip I had no misunderstanding that anything over 80 pounds was not being split with me. The reviews clearly had people who didn't read the website. You keep a portion of the smaller fish. The website also tells you not to bring bananas but they don't tell you why. It's considered to be bad luck. So we ate bananas on the way to the harbor. What they mean to say is for good luck, don't bring bananas or eat them before the trip. Crew was excellent, helpful and friendly. Everything was explained well! We had a good day, catching a 100 lb tuna. Knowledgeable crew that always wanted to help and had great attitudes. Beware of the Grays Taxidermy brochures on the boat. While our crew was honest and told us that they don't mount our fish, we were recommended several times to have a fish mounted. Read the reviews of this before you pay for Grays. They have terrible reviews and some call it a scam. The boats on this tour website try to sell you the service. Google "Grays Taxidermy Scam". Know what you are buying!! The Magic is a great boat, large, clean and great AC. Definitely a great excursion.

I decided that for my dads birthday I wanted to take him on a deep sea fishing charter since he loves fishing and probably hasn't gotten the chance to in about 8+ years. I dropped by the Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing office conveniently located right in the middle of Waikiki and was able to get some really good insight from their friendly staff as to which potential boats I could go on, pricing, availability and also what kinds of fishing they are catching now. They booked us on a charter for the following day and everything went accordingly! We were even lucky enough to catch a nice Mahi Mahi! Dad and I are firing up the grill now. Thanks, Hawaii Deep Sea Fishing!

Booked through Hawaii deep sea and got put on the boat play n hookie the crew was nice but not one bite and then told that this time of year you should never book a half day trip by the captain! So 550 later plus $75 expected tip was a complete waste of money - day - and when we called to share our concerns the guy spoke over me and wouldn't let me talk and then said he would call back by 10 and never called back. Do not use this company. I wish we would have read yelp before booking but we trusted a local. Unfortunate on our part.

Just booked a charter with them last week. Everything went ok. Easy to deal with. The boat was on time. People very nice. The only issue, I caught a 411 pound fish and the charter "Reel Intense" keep it. According to them I had zero rights to it. They sold the fish at Auction and I didn't even get a fish stake to take back and cook. They said if they cut it, they could not sell it, so they said sorry. No where on there web page or in the info did it say i did not own what i caught. So Paid about $1,100 for the boat. I was by myself and tipped 200 bucks. They sold the fish for over 1000. Not sure the total amount, they said it depended on the market. BTW loved the capt and his mate, could not have done it without them, but come on. I pay 1000 and you sell the fish i catch. This should of been listed on your page or the info you sent me.I feel like i should get my money back, or something. Why would someone pay for a charter so you can sell the fish. Its stupid.

I booked my trip in February, for September 2023 one week before my reservation they email me saying our vessel no longer has a captain. No worries though they have 2 other vessel available for an additional $500. Completely ruined our dream plans for our 14th anniversary. Thank you Hawaii deep sea fishing for the weeks notice to figure out something else to do on our anniversary.

My husband and I enjoyed a private deep sea fishing trip on the Wild Bunch boat. It is a 53' Hatteras with a beautiful wooden interior. Our captain, Mike, and first mate, JD, were the best!!! We had so much fun catching Mahi Mahi. We are definitely coming back and bringing others. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. Best deep sea fishing experience ever!!!
