Rev. James was recommended to us by our wedding coordinator (Esselle Weddings) and we were so happy we booked him! He is so easy to work with and his website has all of the information you need which is really nice. James did a wonderful job with our wedding ceremony and rehearsal. He gave the entire wedding party + families clear directions during rehearsal and gave me pointers on how to walk in best with my parents, showed my dad how to exchange hands with my husband/ give me away, gave my husband and I cues for when we should turn and face each other, look towards our guests, etc. He officiated the ceremony flawlessly and he is a really great speaker. I highly recommend him to anyone getting married on Oahu - thanks so much James for officiating a beautiful wedding ceremony!!

When my soon to be husband, at the time, told me that he wanted to marry me, first person that came to mind is to ask James Chun. I know some others that could've officiated our wedding, but based on reviews and how I know him personally, I knew he would be perfect person to officiate our wedding. I went to his website and theres a video, where he explains on how to apply for a marriage license in Hawaii (which helped a lot because I wouldn't know how to do it on my own).I filled out the form on the website, and almost immediately, he replied back. I had a couple questions for him and he responded. We did our wedding ceremony in the courtyard, outside of his office, which was really nice. We had about 20 guests to witness our ceremony. For an extra fee, James will also hire a photographer (for 1 hour) for you... our photographer was really good too!The entire ceremony was beautiful. The way James spoke while officiating the wedding, was very nice. Never was rushed at all. I highly recommend James. He is so down to earth and he will answer any questions you have, and respond in a timely manner. He will also go to any location of your choosing. Check out his descriptive website for more details. hawaiicivilwedding.com

Rev. James Chun performed our wedding. It was very simple yet perfect. I didn't know where to start for planning the ceremony so I inquired about his services through his website and he responded in a very timely manner. He gave me all the information I needed to begin the marriage process. On the day of our wedding we were running a little late due to parking. But he was very understanding. The words he chose to perform the ceremony was perfect. He took a few pictures after and we went back to the office to sign papers and just like that were married! I recommend Rev. James Chun to anyone getting married.

Rev. James Chun officiated our wedding at Halekūlani Hotel. He was wonderful! Our wedding coordinator (A Perfect Day) made the arrangements and they did a great job at finding the perfect person. TIP: His website is extremely helpful! I highly recommending checking out his website and looking under the FAQs page. We met Rev. James Chun a few days before the wedding for Rehearsal. He explained to us where to stand, where to walk, where to stop, the whole nine yards! Which I really appreciated. The day of the wedding couldn't have gone better. Thank you Rev. James Chun for all that you did for us!

Having a spur of the moment decision to elope while on our joint birthday celebration in Hawaii and keeping it a surprise from my family makes it extra nerve wrecking to find a wedding officiant. Here comes Rev James Chun to the rescue! My fiancé originally planned on surprising me by inviting my mother and brother to our planned joint birthday vacation in Hawaii. Due to logistical issues, that plan fell through and their secret was out. So then I asked my fiancé since my family was already coming with us if she was willing to elope while we were there. She said, "Sure, why not?" So we kept that as a surprise from them until the ceremony day. Finding Rev James Chun's website was super easy. His video explaining the process made it really simple to follow, every step of the way. This includes tips on getting your marriage license from the Department of Health. The day of our wedding turned out to be the most memorable, it was at the end of the day during golden hour on my birthday. We chose Magic Island Beach as our event location. There were multiple other weddings happening around us taking all the choice spots, so we found a gorgeous location with Diamond Head mountain as the backdrop. Rev James had very eloquent words for our ceremony and even suggested a flower shop we could go to for our traditional wedding leis. We opted to also hire his recommended photographer who took excellent images of our day. Not a dry eye between all of us during our vow exchange, so this made for a more special intimate ceremony. We highly recommend Hawaii Wedding Studio if you are in need of a wedding officiant and plan on getting married in paradise. Even if you're Mainlanders looking for a more intimate elopement, Rev James can accommodate your every need. This sure beats getting hitched in a courthouse, or a Las Vegas Drive Thru...

When me and my husband got engaged, we wanted to legally be married before the baby came. I did a lot of research on the steps towards getting a marriage license, however, the websites were confusing me. I came across Rev. James' website, and saw a YouTube video simplifying everything that needed to be done to get married in Hawaii. I looked through his reviews, services, and wedding packages and I knew he would be a great fit. I gave him a call and he was able to squeeze our wedding ceremony in 3 weeks from that day. Rev. James Chun did such a wonderful job with our wedding ceremony. Due to the weather I had to make some last minute changes. I called him 2 days prior to the wedding day and he was more than willing to switch venues. On our wedding day he coached us on what we had to do, and gave us cues on what we were going to do next. His choice of words during the ceremony were beautiful, unique, and had so much meaning behind it, both my husband and I got so emotional lol. Highly recommend him as a wedding officiant!! He did such an admirable job. Mahalo!
