This is a perfect place if you just want a quick ceremony! We were in & our my. It took about 10 minutes. We called to make an appointment & everyone there was friendly. There was 2 couples ahead of us but the wait was super fast. We brought our 4 girls with us, 3 are 3 and under & they were so welcoming with them. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick marriage

Easy peasy wedding in front of a judge. I was already stressed out with wedding planning (pre-covid) but looking back I'm glad we went this route. Saved a ton of money. It was really easy. Schedule an appointment, but first you have to get your marriage license at the Department of Health in order to get married. You and your soon to be spouse have to go to the DOH together in person to get the marriage license. Then you have to take the marriage license to your appointment (I think it's within 30 days or something, you don't have to go on the same day). When I called to make an appointment, the woman who answered was really patient with me and really helpful. We chose a Saturday in December 2020 since we both work M-F. Got there about 15 mins early, waited in our car and saw another couple go in before us. The judge was able to take us earlier than our appointment time - we were in and out in about 10 minutes! The judge was so nice and took tons of pictures of us using my iPhone. She also let me record the entire wedding (the ceremony took about 4 mins) so I could show my family later (they didn't come due to covid). On Saturdays it's easy because the courts are closed and there is plenty of street parking. It's in a small hole in the wall on the same block as Circuit Court. Just around the corner, or across the street from Nio boba place. Inside is pretty small, because of covid they didn't allow anyone inside (I think it was max 1 or 2 guests). Maybe it's changed now but good to call and double check. Note: lighting isn't all that great inside and the AC was blowing loudly. So in my video it's a little dark and hard to hear but oh well. Had to edit the video to make it lighter. If you are wondering what to wear - I actually came the day before to pay and saw people wearing whatever's. Some wearing all white, some super casual, some in office attire. I wore a casual white mini dress and my husband wore a floral collared shirt with slacks.

My fiancé and I had planned our wedding for Sept 2020 at a beautifulllll venue but had to cancel earlier this year due to Covid. We thought we could wait it out until next year but we thought what the heck let's just do it already. We were tired of waiting around only to see everything get worse. I called about two weeks before the date we wanted to get married and the lady I talked to on the phone was so nice and very helpful. She reminded me of everything that we needed and everything we should have on hand prior to doing our little ceremony there. We were able to get our date without any hassle and showed up about 10 mins prior to our ceremony start time on that date. We parked across the street in the garage and even though there were about 2 couples before us we were in and out within half an hour. The judge who did our ceremony made it very intimate even though it was just my husband and I there. She took some pictures for us and we were able to FaceTime our families while she preformed the ceremony. Thank you Hawaii Civil Marriages for bringing some joy through these challenging times!!

We just recently got married last month and I got to say...it was a lot easier than I thought! My husband and I were looking to do a small ceremony and never thought it would be this easy! It was very convenient and "short & sweet". I love everything about and now my husband and I can be happily married knowing that we won't start our marriage off in loads of debt!

My husband and I had gotten married here about a month ago, on Christmas Eve, one of the busiest days of the holidays. Chickie was so so helpful in answering all of my questions about the walk-in time and who would be officiating the day prior to our marriage. She also took the time to explain to me the process of obtaining our license prior to getting married. On the day of our marriage, Sandy kindly helped us at the desk with preparing for our quick ceremony. We paid $80, which was great! There were a few couples ahead of us and after us, but everyone was helped in a timely manner. Judge Allene Suemori was our officiant and was so kind and welcoming on this special day. Chickie helped me even after our marriage, to make changes to our marriage certificate. She walked me through what I had to do with the DOH and what all of my options were. She helped me get in contact with Judge Suemori, spoke to her on my behalf, and within a couple of hours, gave me the next steps and expectations. After a couple of weeks, I contacted Chickie about the status, and within a few minutes, she contacted our officiant and texted me that the changes have been made on their side. This same day, the changes were made. She is so quick to give answers and contact who needs to be contacted, which is wonderful. Chickie is so thorough and kind, and overall, amazing. I appreciate her and her team for making the process, pre and post getting married, so easy. I would recommend anyone who plans to have a civil marriage on Oahu to come here.

I got married here last week and for me it was perfect. I'm talking no frills, straight to it, let's get married! I called several times before walking in and Chickee was very sweet and very helpful. My only tiny complaint is that because you walk-in it's first come first serve and you have to wait outside in the heat. There is a small bench outside with some shade that sits 4 and I was lucky enough to be second in line so I got to sit, but there were 4 or 5 other couples trying to find shade across the street while they waited their turn. But, what can ya do? The cost is the best, $80 (cash only). Our Judge, Paul M, was kind and perfect. He even took pictures for us since we didn't bring any witnesses. Even in a small room with just the judge, my husband, and I, I was overcome with emotion. I think the intimate setting allows you to feel the depth of the joy and commitment you are making. I cried the whole time, I've never been happier. I'm not bashing a huge ceremony, no not even a little, it's just not for me. I get caught up in worrying about other peoples thoughts and feelings and overlook my own so this small setting is what I needed to focus. So if you're looking a quick no frills wedding, this is your spot. If you want a romantic setting/ambiance ask them about off location weddings (I think they do those?).

Hawaii Civil Marriage is great for couples looking for a quick and pocket friendly ceremony. My husband and I, along with five billion other couples, wanted to get married on 11/11/11. He coordinated the details with Chickie, who was really helpful with answering questions and accommodating our requests (we wanted to invite more than the maximum 6 people and set up computers to Skype the wedding live to family in Chicago). We ended up cramming about 15 people into the room, posting two laptops on podiums (free wi-fi!), while the judge read a quick five minute speech, and we were married! The entire process was stressfree, even during crazy APEC-traffic time!

This is not for those girls (or guys, I'm not judging) who have been envisioning their perfect wedding since they were six. Hawaii Civil Marriage is for the no fuss, pretty casual type of bride and groom.I first tried to contact Hawaii Civil Marriage through their website contact form and received no response. Then I tried calling the number listed on the website and got in touch with Chickie. It was all pretty much duck soup from there. I made a reservation, showed up, met the judge, and got hitched. If you make a reservation for a weekday afternoon ceremony like I did, then the major advantage is that you can utilize the street parking on Halekauwila, which is legal after 5:30. Otherwise you may need to park at adjacent Restaurant Row.Cost is $100 for the weekday afternoon ceremony, $75 for walk-ins. My fiance loved it and I was very happy even if it wasn't the big production I initially envisioned.

We got our civil marriage done here and it was a hassle free experience. Of course this does not compensate for a wedding ceremony at the beach, but if you need the paperwork done quickly then this is the right place. Walk in was very quick. The whole process took no longer than 20min. It is cheap. We payed $80.00.And 2 business days later we had a temporary marriage certificate. They could redo the wedding room however. Just a couple of flowers would make the place much nicer.

Perfect place for anyone who wants a simple and quick marriage ceremony. My fiance and I got married there this past week on January 4, 2017. We arrived about 10 minutes before 12pm for walk-in. When we arrived there were two other couples waiting, but everyone was helped quite fast. Chickie was very helpful and friendly with getting us checked in. Also thank you to Judge Darryl Choy for being so kind and welcoming. He didn't make us feel rushed at all. The service was done in less than 5-7 minutes, and the whole process didn't take more 15 minutes. We were really pleased with the service here.
