Hawaii Beach Time

Hands down would use them again. Especially if you can take advantage of the weekly rate. We only needed them for 4 days but it was much cheaper to get the weekly rate versus renting on and off for single days. All of the equipment was good to great quality. We had 5 chairs and they were true Tommy Bahama chairs. Great quality. Cooler was good, not their fault but note you'll definitely need more than 1 bag of ice. Boogie board was solid and the umbrellas were good. Umbrellas came with a spike and screw mechanism to really get them deep in the sand. A most for any beach activity.

HORRIBLE communication. I've rented from them 2-3 times before and had a great experience so I understand the good reviews here but I'm incredibly offended by their lack of communication this time. I wanted so badly to support a small business during COVID but wow this was a level of unprofessionalism I have never experienced. My boyfriend and I have been trying to rent one board since Sunday and today it is Friday and we have STILL been unable to confirm our rental. I called Sunday and received a text in response to my call. They told me to text at this number for questions and reservations. I have been trying to set up my reservation ever since via text but the responses have been little to none. On Wednesday my boyfriend even e-mailed them, but it's been two days and still no response. Their main phone number just goes to voicemail, so then we tried to call the phone number we had been texting but someone answered saying "you have the wrong person", even though hours later they would respond to my text with the same number. We were really excited to stand up paddle board this week but now we won't be doing it anymore. I'm very disappointed. The communication was seriously the most unprofessional I've ever experienced. All I wanted was to rent one board. I don't know why they're not interested in doing so, or it's fine if they are not able to but they should have communicated that to me instead of leaving me on read on and off for the last 5 days.

Just finished our time at Ala Moana Beach Park and we were so impressed with Hawaii Beach Time that we had to write a review right away. The stand up paddle boards we rented were great and Drew provided wonderful customer service. The value that you get for your money is awesome, other vendors charge you to deliver to your preferred location. And the fact that we got to use the boards all day for a great price was awesome! This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Honolulu! Thanks Drew and the other Hawaii Beach Time staff!

We decided to rent 3 double kayaks and kayak out to chinamans hat. Originally we were going to rent somewhere else but we would have had to pick them up and take them to the beach ourselves, but the delivery option was way more convenient! The price is very reasonable also, I don't think you can beat this service. I'm so glad I decided to do some research and found this company. I made reservations about a week out, they take your card info and charge you the day of. I didn't get a receipt, but I didn't request one, and I checked my bill a day later and it was accurate. Our driver Tyler was super cool and the drop off and pick up went smooth even though we misunderstood the drop off point lol. If I ever need any gear in the future I'll be sure to use them again!

I called Hawaii Beach Time to check about rental equipments. No one picked up but they said they'd text me back. I received a text from Drew who told me to text him at this number for any reservations or questions. Overall, response time was extremely slow and when I wanted to make a reservation, Drew never got back to me even though I asked twice.

When you're staying in the North Shore there aren't many options for renting snorkeling gear and/or other equipment. Thankfully a Google search lead me to Hawaii Beach Time.We rented snorkel sets for the week. The gear looked brand new. Everything worked great, no leakage. We also did the Lanikai Beach Value package with a SUP vs double kayak. When we got to Lanikai Beach everything (four chairs, large cooler with ice and the SUP) was set up and waiting for us. We lost out on the umbrella since a bolt broke and there wasn't a replacement.There were a few other people at Lanikai Beach who were using equipment from Hawaii Beach Time. (They had the same chairs, cooler, and umbrella.)The family next to us had a double kayak. Halfway through the day we traded and they used the SUP and we used the double kayak.After they left, the delivery driver (I can't recall his name) asked if we wanted to use the double kayak (for no additional charge) since we weren't able to get one when we called. We opted not to since we already had but the third group of people chose to use it.I would definitely rent from Hawaii Beach Time again. Pros:1) They deliver just about anywhere on the island.2) Delivery and pickup are free.3) They work around your schedule: we had snorkel gear dropped off at 8pm. What other company would do that?4) Delivery drivers are on time, if not early. So you aren't waiting around for them.5) Ryan and the other delivery guys are very friendly and accommodating.6) They have everything you would need for the beach.7) Equipment is in excellent to great shape.8) Prices are very reasonable.9) If you get a beach value package, when you show up at the beach everything is set up waiting for you. Including a large cooler with ice.10) You can modify any of their beach packages.11) Did I mention they deliver? You don't have to drive into Waikiki for your gear.Cons:1) Their equipment doesn't have their phone number or name on it.2) Sometimes they don't have gear when you want it.3) They aren't on the other islands.I have photos on my blog.

Rented from this company a couple of times now. I never had any problems with Hawaii Beach Time. I always got great recommendations on where to go and what to do. The owner Drew, took extra time to go into detail so I always felt safe and comfortable. I have always used the drop off service; he has never been late despite squeezing us in last minute. This company is very busy (for good reason) but if you have a little understanding and patience it is well worth the level of service they are prepare to go for you and the quality of the equipment you rent. Keep up the great service!

Need a paddleboard? Call them up. Leave a message. They call back and arrange the drop. If they are busy, it might take a while (1-2hrs) for a return call and they might run out of equipment. The boards are regular soft foam boards. Not high performance. They were able to deliver 2 out of the 3 times I called for same day service with no reservations. Driver is on time and courteous. At the time of reservation there was a 15% discount with Yelp check in but they claimed they had never heard of it. They honored it on my 2nd rental. For $40 it's a convenient option. Call ahead for reservations if you know when/where you would like to set up.

My wife and I rented umbrellas, chairs and snorkel gear from Hawaii Beach Time during our honeymoon. They delivered the gear to our hotel in Waikiki, and when we left, we were able to just drop the gear back off the bell desk for them to pick up. We scheduled the drop off for a couple of hours after our arrival, and we were able to keep everything until the morning we left for the airport. All extremely convenient.We are experienced snorkelers, and we were a bit worried that masks and fins wouldn't be of high quality - but they are actually very nice and seemed brand new. The umbrellas and chairs were also in great condition, and surprisingly light. Umbrellas and chairs have straps to make it easy for you to bring them with you from the hotel to the beach, or from your car to the beach. Chairs also had a zipper pocket and zipper cooler on the back, as well as a couple pockets on the arm for your phone or a drink. We will definitely use them again next time we are on Oahu!

Hawaii beach time is the best! This company was more than accommodating with our flexible schedule (late flights). They were willing to work around what we had going on. We also had to swap out a piece of gear and they were so helpful with that. We have rented from other vendors on our past trips to Hawaii, but Hawaii Beachtime has been the best so far. If you didn't read it in the description, THEY DELIVER AND PICK UP from your resort,Airbnb, or hotel. No hassling to go and get gear. We rented beach chairs, snorkel sets, a body board, and an umbrella. All in great condition! Thanks Drew!!!
