Happen to park on the 2nd floor during a weekend visit to Pearlridge, as we were going down the escalator,( see photo taken of Happy Koi Nursery) the other half covered my eyes so I could avoid checking out Happy koi Nursery. hehe. I am a PlantAholic, I have a huge love for plants, no matter how many I have. I loved browsing at all the plants and nice arrangements that Happy Koi Nursery has. I remember seeing the their plants before at the Blaisdell and years ago at Pearlridge. Thought it was a pop up but the owner that helped me mentioned this is her regular spot. Good to know for when I need more stuff again. I didn't buy much plant this visit, I am obsessed with Hoya plants, If I spot any Id buy them in an instant. During this visit I needed soil for my Hoya which I got a special blend of soil ( $3. for a huge container) fertilizer for my Desert Rose Plants, which owner recommends the one she has ( $3. for a small container) cute decoration for my bonsai plant ($4.) and 2 small plants @$3. each for mini anthurium and cute Jade tree. I needed to fill my tiny pots which fit perfectly. I fed my desert rose when I got home. All the items purchased was much needed. The prices are reasonable too. Credit cards are accepted but I believe there is a fee, I could have saved .75 cents if I paid cash, hehe. I need to accumulate those airline miles. Next time you're at Pearlridge check out Happy Koi Plants, I sure was happy, got my plant therapy in! Plants makes people Happy!!

Imagine walking through the mall, with all the usual, busy, frentic energy of a mall and then stepping into a santcuary full of gorgeous plants. A sense of calm awashes me as soon as I cross the threshhold into Happy Koi nursery.Over the years, I have aquired my favorite plants from this little shop. The selection of plants offered in this store seems carefully curated. Every plant, big or small, is special in some way. There are unique cultivars with rare patterns and colors, as well as fruit trees (mini bananas and cherry guavas), culinary herbs, and lei flowers (pakalana, puakenikeni, pikake, and more). The plants are uncharacteristically resilient as well. To this day, all the perenials I've brought home from Happy Koi are alive and thriving. The Bird Fern is among my favorites because it has given so much joy to the person I gifted it to. I especially enjoy the information cards on display because they contain practical care instructions, but are also full of history -- and some are even quite humorous. I found myself chuckling as I read a few of the care cards. There are other, small items for sale as well. Many of the plants are potted in handmade, artesian planters. Each one is unique and has a distinctive style and artistic quality. There are other items for sale as well. On my last visit to the nursery, I took home a beautiful, acrylic blue koi fish, to help usher in the year of the Dragon with good fortune. This shop is a rare find, full of gems. I always seem to leave smiling with my purchases.

9/18/22 Still shocked at the rude customer service or lack of that we experienced this past Sunday. I haven't been to Pearlridge the past 2 years of the pandemic. Some friends and I decided to just walk around the mall and see what new stores have opened up and which ones have closed down since then.We were pleasantly surprised to find little kiosks and pop ups that morning. We stumbled upon this plant nursery because the plants are really beautiful and eye catching. Walking towards the nursery setup we were already saying wow at all the plants. I do not have a green thumb so I asked my friend what do they do to make the leaves so vibrant green and glossy. Since she didn't know she turned to the woman tending to the succulents right next to her and kindly asked, "Excuse me but do you put anything onto the leaves to make them look that shiny?" Without even looking up the woman with short black hair and glasses said curtly "no." She appeared like we were a nuisance to be bothering her with 1 question.Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the idea of any business owner or store worker is to engage in conversation with possible customers with the goal of making a sale? With that sour reply I told my friends let's just leave, they obviously don't want our business and I didn't want to help them attract any other possible customers by browsing their plants.I will not recommend this business to any of my friends and family. And if you've read till the end of this review I hope you consider supporting another local plant nursery with a more friendly and welcoming attitude.

I first stumbled upon this nursery in December 2020 when they had a pop up at Pearlridge. Since then I'm happy to say they have a permanent spot now at Pearlridge uptown! I am too old to know the new name of uptown so oh well. But they're located right next to Starbucks! What drew me to this nursery were their super cool pots! They look like lava , I've never seen anything like this before. Besides the assortment of plants they sell, they also have plain lava pots (without plants) for sale too if you need to repot something at home! I ended up picking up two plants as a gift the other day. The owner was so nice too. She went over tips of care and explained a bit more about my plants :)

Lovely and peaceful. I was shocked to find this little oasis at Pearl Ridge mall. We parked upstairs by Macy's. As you take the escalator down you'll see the little gem on your right. We got in depth information on how to care for the plants we purchased. The pots are hand made and very creative. We were also able to pick up succulent potting soil and fertilizer. Prices are very reasonable. Parking is free. They take cash or card.

Shaken up & rattled by this employee. My 6yo daughter was touching their clay figurines when he said something to her so I asked him what the problem was. He said she shouldn't be touching those things. I told him we're just looking & shopping btw touching is part of that. I told her to leave the janky items alone which he proceeded to get up in my face & tell me my daughter can't touch those items. He used his big body to tell me to get out of the store. This led to my 18yo son getting in between us & telling him to back up & not to get in a woman's face. The employee then told him to back off which my son reiterated to him not to get in my face & try to intimidate us. He then starts to pull for his knife that he carried in his belt. I got in between them to prevent him from hurting my son. Of course I get loud to alert people of this altercation because at this point I'm terrified. He tells us he's calling the police & says my daughter is trying to steal from them! So he scolds my daughter when I'm right there with her, (I'd expect an adult to talk to the parent rather then scold the child), goes from 0-10 in a matter of seconds, tries to pull a knife on us, oh & to top it off he tells my son he's going to throw him over the rail! Of course the cherry on top of it all is calling the cops on his customers!!! What is happening at Pearlridge or Happy Koi that a merchant has to carry a knife on them???? The security of Pearlridge came then the police eventually arrived. No charges were filed but I now have a shaken up 6yo who is terrified & felt like she did something bad. I reassured her that she didn't do anything wrong & that unfortunately some people in the world are insane! That ruined our night & we didn't get our Christmas shopping done because of this lunatic. DO NOT SHOP HERE! If you do shop at your own risk you might get stabbed for being a customer! Do better Happy Koi! Every time I've gone in here, each worker was rude & seemed irritable that you're in their store. I will be filing a complaint with the mall management.

The store owners are both very knowledgable and can tell you what the perfect plant would be for your house lighting. The plant pots are stone or lava rock looking. They are are really unique and ive not seen them sold anywhere else. I have bought two plants on separate occasions. Just like the owner said, the plants need little maintenance just occasional watering and do well in low light that i have in my house. Not sure if they still do this but when i bought my plant they said they would be willing to help me bring my plant back to health if it got sick, or watch my plant if I went on vacation.
