Incredible beer. Why waste time use lot word when few word do trick. I've been on the craft brew train for over a decade now, and Hana Koa has had the most exciting, refreshing takes that push the boundaries of expectation. They're trying new things every few weeks, so if I'm not feeling a taplist, it's not long before something fresh is available. They've recently started to expand distribution too, so I don't have to fight town traffic to pick up some cans. Here's some of my recent favorites:- Moose Track Mochi - A stout with Mochi Rice, Cacao, and Vanilla. - Mochi Daze - Hazy IPA with Mochi Rice, matcha, and vanilla. LOTS of seasonal variants, including Mango, Strawberry, and Ube. They're all sweet and creamy in the best way beer can be. - Guava Drip - Sour ale with Guava, Lemon, Coconut, and Purve donuts. Surprisingly sour and zesty. - Darker Depths - Barrel Aged imperial stout, dark and strong. Loved the last run of cans. Looks like they're getting a new variety of bourbon barrels to experiment with: Wild Turkey, Raspberry, and Lilikoi bourbon. The pub itself is an oasis in the heart of an urban jungle. Stepping out of Kawaiahao's industrial visage to Hana Koa's woody and warm interior is a pleasant shock to the senses. Vintage bulbs cast a soft, ambient glow on an open, modern design. Local ingredients comprise nostalgic specials such as pastele stew, kalbi, and garlic shrimp, the perfect accompaniment to lingering conversations and leisurely sips. Service has always been prompt, friendly and attentive. Parking may be the most difficult aspect, as the lot is small and the joint can be bustling. Fortunately, you can check with the hostess for allowable street parking, or in the most dire situations it's a short walk from Ward Village parking. Glad I had to look up some beers for this review, I'll be back soon for some new barrel aged stouts!

I've been there several times and I really want to love it. Unfortunately, I don't. The ambience is there. It's very clean, open and spacious. The service wasn't that great. We got there and waited a while for anyone to come to our table. The food is okay. We got the onion rings, arugula and beet salad, and the prime rib. The arugula salad was so vinegary that we couldn't eat it. The onion rings are called pickled onion rings, so they're also sour, but, again, it was a little too strong. The prime rib was good but they give very little mashed potatoes that the ratio to meat was off. Hawai`i has many options when it comes to restaurants. They've got to do better if they want repeat customers and not just rely on tourism.

What an unforgettable Sunday fun day! I had the absolute pleasure of brunching with my fabulous friends at Hana Koa Brewing, and let me tell you, it was a blast! First off, there's a convenient parking lot for the brewery, which makes it super easy to get in and get your brunch on.Once you step inside, you're greeted by a spacious, vibrant atmosphere with plenty of bar seating and a cozy dining area that sets the perfect backdrop for a leisurely meal. Now, let's talk about the food! We kicked things off with some delightful mimosas, paired with a flight of assorted juices that really elevated the experience. And trust me, the crispy fries were an absolute must-try! They were perfectly golden and crispy, especially when dipped into that creamy BBQ aioli. So good! For the main event, we savored:- Brunch tacos that were bursting with flavor- A mouthwatering Brisket Sando with a side of pickled sweet onion rings- Delicious Pork belly sliders that were simply irresistible- And the classic beer-battered fish and chips that hit all the right notesEvery bite was a joy, and we truly enjoyed every moment spent indulging in good food and great company! Can't wait for our next visit!

Always a hit here. The bartender, Nicholas, is awesome. He's a pleasure to talk to and always so quick to make sure I always have a cold beer! Their food options are great, this time I went for brunch and got the brisket loco loco - the brisket is so tender. Everything was flavorful and fresh. 10/10. I love the different beers they come out with and they have the best sours on island. I only wish I could bring my dogs with me to hang out! My favorite beer (right now) is guava drip and basic witch!

I LOVE hana koa! they're the best spot to get dinner and a drink with really reasonable prices and variety. they're able to accommodate group sizes even up to 16 people and the service is still attentive. all the food I've tried has been great but I always love the farmhouse burger. they're generous with the fries and the burger is perfectly cooked. favorite beer has to been whichever mochi beer they have on rotation but I also enjoy their hazys. if you want to book the moon room upstairs for a private event on the weekends, it's super easy and they're really accommodating. otherwise it's also fun to get a table up there (when there isn't an event) and they'll stream movies on the projector!

The food and drinks are good, but the manager's behavior was completely unacceptable. Instead of addressing us directly, they lacked the courage to speak to us themselves and sent a server to tell us to stop playing Uno with our child, claiming it was 'gambling' under Hawaii law. It was clearly Uno a family card game and the manager's inability to handle the situation professionally was both embarrassing and insulting. If they have an issue with customers, they should have the decency to address it themselves instead of hiding behind their staff. This kind of poor management ruined what could have been a pleasant dining experience.

Awesome services by server Jen. I would return again just for her! So upbeat, knows the menu well, and she's the expert in beer selections. Burgers were exceptional. Fries were perfectly crispy. Lots of free parking on site. Restaurant is impeccably clean! I will be returning soon!

A great brewery with a great kitchen - this is an establishment where its difficult to decide whether it's a brewery with a kitchen or kitchen with a brewery. In Kaka'ako, close to Ala Moana, it was a choice to visit after an afternoon at the beach. A great open warehouse atmosphere, it's not quite the micro-brewery I visited elsewhere - they have a/c so it's not hot and humid.Plus:* Great selection of beer (it's brewery!)* Great restaurant - the food is fabulous! In fact, the food selection is awesome* Great service as the staff are very knowledgeable about the beer & food* Great selection of SWAG in the back (by the bathroom)* Great selection of whiskey on stock; in fact there is a room upstairs (for special events) available for special events Minus:* Parking may be an issue - there is some available on the side, but it can quickly get crowded, so you may have to park around the placeAwesome beer + food + atmosphere - a great combination worth visiting.

Nice neighborhood brewery. They have good selection of draft beers and seasonals. Food selection is pretty good as well.Been here a few times, but first time at the "Moon" room, which is the upstairs area. Nice change of ambiance - more of a wine/cocktail bar feel.Had their specials - campfire old fashioned and pink pony. Good presentation. As expected in terms of the drink itself. I wasn't disappointed.Fried chicken sandwich was good. Big portion and we'll seasoned. Service was excellent. We'll be back.

Cute little spot and has nice parking in the back. Came in with a friend who wanted to buy beers to go. Walked in and it's spacious with tall ceiling. You can sit down and have a burger or a ramen!! Heard the food is just as good as the beer and who doesn't like the combo of all??I was trying to buy myself some beer and didn't know that they can give you a little sample of any beer you want to buy. Unfortunately I didn't end up buying any, but my friend got a case of beer and said he's happy with them!! The cans are taller than a normal beer can. The ladies behind the counter were so sweet and accommodating. Knowledgeable staff. The food I hear is delicious so one day I will have to try to return to taste it for myself.
