A Magical 10th Anniversary & Vow Renewal Experience! From the moment we arrived at Halepuna Waikiki, we felt like royalty! The valet team greeted us by name, opened doors with genuine smiles, and set the tone for flawless service. Check-in was effortless--every staff member we passed warmly welcomed us, making us feel instantly at home. Why We'll Never Forget Halepuna: Surprised us with champagne + Happy Anniversary Card HERO MOMENT: My wife's vision of a Moana flower crown for our ceremony, two incredible gentlemen (shoutout to them!) called their sister hotel, secured not just the crown but a sacred Maile Lei within an hour--going above and beyond to make her vision perfect! Every detail felt personalized, from staff remembering our names to anticipating needs we didn't even voice. This isn't just a hotel--it's where aloha spirit meets five-star excellence. Mahalo for making our milestone celebrations so profoundly special! We'll cherish these memories forever. The Padillas (10th Anniversary Vow Renewal | Feb 2025)

Halepuna is supposed to be a brand new hotel (3 years old) but when you look around you see things not working quite right. We'll start with the good. The location right near the main strip is excellent. Everything in Waikiki and even ala Moana is walkable. The hotel is nice and clean. They give you nice reusable water bottles at check in. But let's delve into the weirdness and negatives;* They are super cheap with the soap and shampoo. Like you get one tiny tube for each day per room. You can ask for more but really this is annoying. * The coin operated (yes you read that right) washing machine didn't work. I wasted $4.50 and an hour of time waiting for a machine that didn't actually get my clothes wet. I asked for a refund from the front desk but the lady asked me if I put detergent in the machine. Yes I did but why does it matter? They finally coughed up 18 quarters but what am I supposed to do with them ? * The gym is a joke. Tiny and chopped up with minimal equipment. You want water or need to go use the bathroom? You need to go outside. They have Christmas carols playing nonstop 4 days after the actual holiday. The metal fence outside the gym is literally rusted. * The front desk staff is generally rude. They do the absolute minimum with a lousy attitude. Seriously I'm in paradise on vacation and I've had better hotel staff interactions in the Central Valley California. * one day they forgot to clean the room. I called the front desk at 9pm and they only offered to send new towels. Not awesome. * the pool looks ok in pictures, but it's actually small and shaded by surrounding buildings. You have to squint to see the sliver of visible ocean from this poolside. * the phone charger on the clock phone thing will take a week to charge your iPhone. * you need a phd to figure out the light switches in the room. * the thermostat display is almost unreadable. So set your own preferred temperature by pure guesswork.* the bathtub walls are just tall enough to bump into or trip over every time you enter or exit the shower zone. Seriously it's an accident waiting to happen.

We stayed at the Halepuna for 4 nights for our end-of-summer vacation. If you want a quiet, ultra-clean, and relaxing hotel this place is for you. The tradeoff is you get less activities and amenities compared to larger, touristy hotels. Our Oceanside 2-double bed room was super comfy. Reasons we loved this hotel:1. Japanese-style toilets in the room and throughout the property. Super clean bathrooms. The one on the 8th floor unisex gym even has cursors to aim that water jet along with water pressure control, LOLl!2. Nice pool deck on the 8th floor with bar and plenty of seating. For our first night we got free shaved ice!3. The 8th floor also has a nice gym with separate rooms for weights, cardio, and a studio equipped with yoga mats, touch-screen video for workout demos, and exotic equipment like core bags, CMT devices, and kettlebells. 4. Plenty of parking in the large indoor lot. $50/night seems typical in Waikiki. Hotel has ZERO resort fees.5. Proximity to a bakery, Denny's, Roy's and ABC Store. If you want even more food options and a crowded atmosphere with nightly live music, you can head to Outrigger Reef a block away. Also easy access to Waikiki beach despite the hotel being at the end of a street.6. Fast and free wifi.7. Water dispensers on the 8th floor, with icy cold water on the pool deck. The lobby has one upscale restaurant, Umi that specializes in elegant seafood, but no other amenities like gift shops or free coffee/water stations. The hotel does have daily specials and activities, so check out the calendar.

Sister property to the famous Halekulani but newer and cheaper. Very clean facilities minus the left over pubic hair that housekeeping didn't catch. Booked through Amex platinum and should get upgraded, but lady at front desk was kind of rude and don't care to honor it because she said there was not enough space even though the hotel seems empty. Common facilities like Pool are underwhelming pictures make it look better than they actually seem.

Great staff and comfortable rooms with amazing views. The pool is very kid friendly and they also have a great fitness room. You can valet or self park and the location is ideal. Walking distance to all the major attractions in Waikiki. Can't beat the Toto bidget and nicely decorated bathroom with shower and tub to soak in. The best part of the hotel is by far, the bakery on the ground floor, Halekulani Bakery which is one of best bakeries here in Honolulu specializing in amazing croissants and of course, their signature Coconut Cake. The bakery is closed on Monday and Tuesday and only opened from 6:30 am to 11:30 am daily. Highly recommended if you want to do a Staycation or stay in a very comfortable and luxurious hotel in the heart of Waikiki.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Last stay in Waikiki was at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and comparing this hotel, it was much more quiet and modern. The room and balcony is slightly smaller. Swimming pool and hot tub about the same size and can get just as crowded during the day. Staff super friendly. With the ocean view, you can also see the Hilton Hawaiian Village fireworks on Fridays.

Boutique style hotel located in Waikiki. Stayed here during Christmas week to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Service was very attentive and we definitely received the Aloha spirit. My daughter had even received a birthday surprise on her bed upon arrival. As the other reviewers mentioned, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice. Loved the modern mechanical blinds. Ocean views are awesome but we opted for the Mountain View. Although the hotel is tucked in the heart of Waikiki, the hotel is quiet and serene. The only downside for me was that our room was a tad small and the water temperature would not get very hot.

Our 2nd year in a row staying at the beautiful Halepuna Waikiki. This time it was much busier then last year but the experience was still top notch. We had a slight hiccup when we got there as our room wasn't ready and we had to wait for almost an hour but their lobby is a nice place to just relax. What makes the Halepuna Waikiki special is it's size. It's nice and cozy. We spent most of our time relaxing at the pool or just chilling in our room. Can't wait to go again!
