Today we went on a shark diving adventure. We were asked to come in earlier than our reservation due to the conditions of the water, and man they weren't wrong. It was a great experience all the way around. Our captain and co-captain were spot on and stopped to show us the dolphins, they ensured everyone was safe and okay throughout the excursion and we got to get a great video and picture package so that this opportunity was not missed.

Lono and his partner (can't remember his name) were great and very accommodating! We ran into a lot of traffic on the way there but they were very understanding and called us ahead of time to see where we were so they wouldn't leave without us. Both were very attentive and made sure the entire group felt comfortable. Seeing the sharks and being in the water was a great experience and I plan to try cageless shark diving in the future just because of how good the experience was! I never ever felt like I was in any danger whatsoever. They also gave good recommendations on local dining spots after we were done! If you're on the fence, definitely go for it!

This will be my only review for shark cage diving because I won't be doing this again in my lifetime due to my personal fears. This one hour activity was very exhilarating but quite a scary experience for me. I remember the year "Jaws" came out ... I didn't go swimming all summer! I only did this because I didn't want my daughter to do this by herself. Aren't I the best Mom? * If you get motion sick , it may be helpful to take anti -motion sickness pills/ medication the night before. ( I didn't because I had to drive there. My daughter did though and she survived the rough waters.) The tour asks the participants to arrive 1/2 hour earlier than their booked time. Meet in the parking lot by the two story building. There's time to visit the restroom around the corner in this building too, because the tour starts promptly at the appointed time. We booked our tour at the hotel concierge where we were staying .This tour was a bit pricier, ($142 per Adult ) but had more times available. We booked the 11am. Once you arrive at the location, your tour person will call out your names before you get on the boat. Once everyone is on board you go for a 3 mile fast boat ride to the cage location in the middle of the ocean. (I think the first run they set up the cage. Since we were the last time , the staff hauled the cage back into the boat after we viewed the sharks). Meanwhile, a staff will direct you to put on your snorkel gear which they lend you. I was glad to have put on a sun screen shirt because floating around in the cage you may get sunburned. Also, pay attention to instructions on how you get into and out of the cage. Since the boat is rocking with the waves , it's more difficult than you realize! Don't think too much .. just get your gear on and proceed into the cage. If you are as lucky as we were on this trip you'll see lots of sharks. The staff did mentioned there were more than usual. However, keep in mind that they can't guarantee shark sightings. Since there were only 6 of us signed up, the staff let us all go in at once! ( there's plenty of room the the cage .) That means more time in the waters looking for sharks. We didn't have to look too hard because the sharks were swimming all around us! The staff allowed us to remain in the cage longer because we were a smaller group. ( * when you book the tour, ask how many people have signed up ... the smaller the number the better .) Wow, what an experience! My daughter loved it ! I was supposed to film the go pro for my daughter , but I was too afraid/panic stricken trying to keep afloat. She was able to film it herself. At least , I hope she thinks I'm a "cooler Mom " after this.

Forest & Lono were fantastic! We ended up getting lucky and the other people who booked didn't show up so we ended up having a private charter and the experience was amazing. We got to see lots of beautiful Galapagos sharks in the crystal clear waters of Haleiwa. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for the peaceful experience to see some beautiful sharks in their natural habitat.

Erin and Nellie are awesome! The experience is a bucket lister!! Locally owned and run! IF YOU ARE IN WAIKIKI IT IS AN HOUR TO GET THERE AT LEAST! Plan accordingly and if you Uber it's not a cheap ride (but a nice one!). Highly recommend!! They'll rent you a go pro and give you a card if you don't bring your own. Tip well and buy a shirt too (note to owner - keep those Larges in stock!)

How do add more stars?! No seriously. This was epic. Our captain and crew were friendly and well versed I feel I would of free dove with these guys - and I am a novice. The wild thing is we had zero sharks on our day out. BUT the whales that swam about 10 feet away from us while in the cage was a epic once in a life time dive! Multiple whales. The captain was determined to stay out until sharks arrived, the other divers seemed done so we hopped out.The captain immediately stated we could rebook or get our money back. We choose to rebook and tip heavily. This is a gem of a crew in a beautiful spot. I promise this captain has earned our loyalty and we will be repeat customers.

Alexis and Erin were so nice and knowledgeable about the sharks, area, and culture, you can tell this is a passion for them and they love what they do. The tour was phenomenal and the shark diving experience was absolutely unreal! I will definitely be doing this again with this group!

The ride out to the shark area was spectacular. The rays of light breaking through the clouds at sunrise was topped only by the double rainbow over the sea. The staff were friendly, funny and seemed to enjoy their work. Guide Alexis was very knowledgeable about marine biology and even tiger shark intercept tactics.Didn't see any sharks the first time so they booked me again, for free! The second trip, one day after the first, was more successful--Galapagos sharks everywhere. Highly recommend.

We booked the tour for the last part of our trip on Friday. We booked a turtle snorkle (our very first snorkle!) for Wednesday morning where my husband got VERY sea sick and threw up all in the water. That was not a fun time for him or the rest of the family. After we got back to land I called to cancel the shark snorkel because I did not want to go through that again but they told me because it was 46 hours in advance rather than the 48 hours that we could not have any refund of the over $600 we paid. The gal was somewhat curt with me and seemed really annoyed - which in turn, annoyed me. I asked about barf bags and supplies and she told me that they don't supply them on the boat - bring our own. Really?? After the call we were trying to decide what to do. Leave him behind which defeats the idea of a family vacation. For him to suffer through and hope no puking repeat? Not fun. Or just lose the money and do something else. However, later that day the lady called me and offered some tips to combat motion sickness. She suggested to take Bromine the night before and then again 30 minutes before boarding, don't eat or drink anything the morning of the snorkel and be really hydrated. She also offered to move us to a later departure on a boat that held 6 people rather than 12 people so we would be out in the boat for less time since the 12 person puts people in the cage in 2 shifts. We decided to try her advice and followed it to the "T" and my husband did not get sea sick. The crew were really friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a great presentation on boat safety and cage safety. We saw TONS of sharks the entire time we were in the water. It was a really amazing experience and I am super glad we did it. I would have given 5 stars but my first encounter with them on the initial phone call came across as really uncaring and indifferent to our situation. With exception of that it was a great experience that we all would love to repeat and would indeed book with Haleiwa Shark Tours again.

Trevor, Andi, and Erin were amazing. They were super friendly and knowledgeable. I got my usual motion sickness but it was still worth it to see the sharks. Would definitely do it again.
