Capt. John Sheridan: I wish I had your faith in the universe. I just don't see it sometimes. Delenn: Then I will tell you a great secret, Captain. Perhaps the greatest of all time. The molecules of your body are the same molecules that make up this station, and the nebula outside, that burn inside the stars themselves. We are starstuff. We are the universe made manifest, trying to figure itself out. And as we have both learned, sometimes the universe requires a change of perspective.A Distant Star - Babylon 5Sand. Molten glass comes from sand. I was fascinated by the flame. The woman in the window formed fine lines and curves from a blob of molten glass with fire. I speculated on what form the glass would take. A dolphin I think... It's nice seeing art being made. I remember when I was a kid seeing artists painting at the park, the beach, or the bay. At Seaworld I thrilled at seeing divers searching for pearls at the bottom of the sandy pool. Nowadays food is the only thing I get to watch being made... There are many beautiful things in this place. I brought home a glass dolphin created by the woman in the window. The dolphin was clear, cold, smooth, with sweeping curves in contrast to the Manzanita stand which was dark, warm, and held rich details. All the artworks were made by local artists. I was inspired walking about seeing the paintings and sculptures. Perhaps one day the images in my mind will manifest into something beautiful...

We stopped by during the Hale'iwa Art Walk that occurs on the last Saturday of the month. My niece, son, and I were welcomed warmly by a woman named Isabella who explained the history of the gallery and gave some information about the artwork being currently featured. I was so appreciative that she took the time to talk to us because I feel so often at galleries like families with small children are seen as inconveniences. It's unfortunate because art and creativity should be accessible to people of all ages! Anyway, we browsed the different pieces and I settled on a $20 print of a painting of an unconventionally beautiful Hawaiian woman holding a mango in her hands while standing beneath a mango tree. I would definitely encourage folks to check out this gallery with their diverse art work by local and international artists, accommodating staff, and cool laid-back vibe.

This place has some really great art work, and the sales person wasn't pushy at all, but was extremely helpful. I have not been to an art gallery that had such interesting art work like this---and that's coming from a fine arts major. You can even watch the glass making apprentice and master at work when they're there.

This is a must-see for tourists, travelers, visitors, locals... Every body in the area. My friend brought me here because she's obsessed with the silk art brought in from Vietnam in their gallery. Truly breathtaking, although let me admit bias because I'm Vietnamese. Although in any case, it's the largest collection housed outside of Vietnam -- who would have thought the surf Mecca would bring such foreign beauty. There's a sweet docent who walks around -- she's young and friendly, perhaps a little too talkative for someone like me who likes to admire in silence, but I did appreciate how passionate she was in pointing out details within the silk pieces I wouldn't have noticed. Truly, most of them looked like gorgeous paintings that reflects against different angles of light and to think that it's handcrafted by such fine thin layers of silk must be such a painstakingly patient process. But the results are worth more than a passing glimpse. What I also love about this gallery is that whole we were there, a few artists were visiting and even talked more about their art to my friend and I. Super friendly and interesting to meet the creator and to hear the story behind the time and effort for each masterpiece. I recommend stopping by at least once for experience and exposure. Trust me, you'll feel even that much more "cultured" even if art history wasn't really your thing in college ...

A way cool atmosphere and even cooler owner, George. Really, a human being full of love. He understands that while the art and/or the purchase thereof makes us happy, it also spreads needed money to local businesses, local and far away artists and the Hawaiian economy as well. His smile alone is worth checking into this place. The silk embroidery section in the back of the gallery is fabulous-the glass works as well. I was told, "A moth lives but a month, but it is enough time." Aloha.

Wonderful selection of originals and photos, and embroidery art "paintings" by a Vietnamese artist I have not see outside of the Nixon Library (gifts from his China trip). I grabbed up a small blown glass piece, and learned a lot from George Atkins, the owner about the ups and downs of the art business on Oahu.
