I spent the day at Hale'iwa Ali'i Beach Park and noticed "Hale'iwa Surf Shop" across the street.I visited three surf shops while exploring the North Shore, and this was my favorite of the three.It is located in a house that has been converted into a retail shop. It is quaint and unassuming.It has some major brand inventory--but the majority of its stock is clothing and accessories of their own design.They have some designs that feature a "bridge" (a nod to the nearby bridge that crosses the Anahulu River), and some designs that feature a rooster (a wink to all of those feral chickens that you see running around). You can go to their website for online shopping--but the online shop does not have all of the items available in store.Sometimes I think the term "authentic" is overused nowadays; but the shop does feel "of a place".

Adorable surf shop with all the necessities!!They just open today, and we happen to walk past it on the way back from shaved iced!! Rain and Steve were so kind and welcoming into the store. FIRST CUSTOMERS!!! The apparel for men, women and kids are super cute for everyday or beach/ swim attire. They're also going to get surf snacks and togo snacks!!

This shop is right across the road from a sandy surf spot which makes surf board rental quick and easy. The employees were knowledgeable and kind. The store sells a variety of branded T-shirts, greeting cards, etc. for a bit of a price, but I thought the prices were worth supporting the small business. The garden and bus in the front of the store are cute. The store has a small parking lot.

Best surf shop in the area hands down. Rain is the owner and we'll worth the visit alone. His shirt designs are some of the best in the area and should be a must stop for anyone that loves to surf. Will 1000% be back again. Loved the vibe

I would not recommend renting from Haleiwa Surf Shop. We rented surfboards and walked across the street to use them, but quickly realized that the waves were too advanced for our skill level. We returned the boards in less than 10 minutes, untouched, not even removed from the car. We expected at least some level of understanding, however, the owner flat-out refused to refund or offer any kind of concession, despite never informing us of a strict no-return policy due to wave conditions. When we politely questioned him about this, he became agitated, aggressive, and even attempted to escalate the situation into a physical confrontation.This kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially from someone running a business that caters to visitors. If you're looking for surf rentals in Haleiwa, I highly recommend going elsewhere to avoid this kind of treatment.

This shop was awesome. They have a great selection of shirts, and other misc items you may need for a day on the beach, sunscreen, hats, snorkel gear, etc. The guy who runs the place is really knowledgeable and helpful. Very much recommend this shop.

What a wonderful staff! Very friendly and accommodating. Love that you are open earlier than the other stores. Keep up the Aloha
