Halawa District Park

Guess what I recently discovered? A park right in the middle of an industrial area across the street from Ani's Bake Shop. Yes, this is... HALAWA DISTRICT PARK. This park has lots of parking, lots of grassy areas, a playground equipment, tennis court, basketball court, a baseball field, a gym and restrooms. There are so many offerings here. Bring your family...bring your pets...bring your outdoor equipment...bring your chairs...bring your bentos. Come and enjoy the outdoors here at HDP! You'll thank me for that!

I'm going to have to give 5 stars for the gym. Nice parking lot with plenty of parking. Lots of open gym time and free play gym time.CLEAN floors, nice basketball rims and full glass backboards, bleachers are pulled out to sit on and to put your stuff.I used to play here back in my late teens and early 20s when I used to visit and had a great time back then and am happy that things haven't changed much. There is a good group of dudes not in their 20s (thankfully) that play on a regular basis and who all seem to know each other. I've been three times in the last week and will continue to come here as much as I can for the rest of my time here.I'm thankful to have free gym access. They keep the air con on in the gym to cool it down a bit and there are also bathrooms and a water fountain with a bottle filling option.Mahalo to all who keep the gym in great shape!!

We come here often to work on our kid's sports skills. It's a nice low key park during the late afternoons when it's not hot or busy. There's baseball fields, a bball court, and a playground. The bathrooms are pretty dirty and unsafe to use by yourself because there are homeless that just go in and out. Parking is easy to find.

I've been using this park since 1990 when we moved from the Kaneohe side to Aiea Heights then over a hill to Halawa Heights. The park is used for everything from kids sporting events, tennis, basketball, the gym for voting and community events.I've spent countless hours at Pee Wee baseball, Soccer and football games. Daily practices and weekend games, I've helped man (or woman) the pop up concession stands and helped host the school's Christmas programs. I've spent hours flying kites, planes, helicopters and crashed my fair share of them beyond repair.Lately, as the kids have all grow up, I still come here to walk my little dog Sofie. She loves to come here to chase the Egrets and Mynah birds. Loves to lay in the shade of the beautiful trees and in general, trot with her head and tail high. The park is always well maintained, the grass is thick and green. People who bring their pets are always quick to clean up after them as well as their kids. The community utilizes this park for what it is meant for, family fun.

My in-laws wanted to fly kites on the 4th of July. In our neighborhood the tradewinds were nowhere to be found, so I thought it was a crazy idea. But, much to my surprise, the wind was plentiful at Halawa District park. The park was pretty empty which was great for us because there was a lot of space for us to fly our kites and we also found a great spot under a tree to cool off and just enjoy the holiday.This park also has a multi-purpose gym, outdoor playground, and a couple of tennis courts with lights. And if this isn't enough to get you to come check out this park, what if I mentioned that Ani's Bake Shop is right across the street? :)

Went here for a meeting. I was late for my meeting because of traffic. When I looked at the GPS it estimated 20 min. from where I was at. But when I actually started on my trek, it suddenly said I would be 5 minutes late, then 20 minutes late. Aiyah! Thankfully when I got there, parking was plentiful. Environment; in the middle of an Industrial Park. Location; confusing to find.Bathroom; usable, a little unclean but usable.Meeting room; spacious. Not bad for a City Park. When leaving the meeting, the gym was robust with noise and children. Glad to see children using the park in a productive manner. The gym was joyfully full of children. As I glimpsed in the gym, I saw children lined up ready to take a turn at something. Children from all different ethnic backgrounds. It was nice to see.Leaving the park was a little confusing as well, especially when I hardly go out to that side and live in town. But thankful for GPS and roads that loop and connect. I made it back to town in the traffic .

I come here to take a quick break from the hustle and bustle of work.although it's in the beginning of a industrial area it offers a lot of trees and grass and ample areas for your pets to run. I prefer to think of it as a little oasis of green .There's also a lot of room for the kids to play. Multiple fields and a basketball court , baseball field and ample parking, and also street parking .

Playing in the HGEA League and there's lots of parking and feels cool in the gym. No water bottles in the stands or near the courts. Leave them on the table near the front entrance. Water fountains have cold water so that's good

Love this park, it's huge tons of space little bit of homeless people other than that it's great
