this is a beautiful interpretive dance based on the Hawaiian culture and rest of Polynesia. It tells a story of a little boy growing up, loved in his village and slowly turning into a man who also deals with complex life events, such as death, life, marriage, and how the cycle repeats. Ha means breath of life.Wai means breath of water:: Hawaii - Life/waterI was unable to take any photos because they requested we did not, but they were very generous towards the end where they offered anybody who wanted to come up on stage and take pictures with some of the dancers and actor The actors and dancers were phenomenal

This was absolutely the best show i have seen so far. And i have seen a lot of shows! Visuals, the story, the culture, the dancers! Wow epic! Definitely worth every penny! You need to plan it eight tho! It ends around 9pm and it's a long drive back. We stayed at the Marriott right next door.

Really enjoyed my visit to this show. The most exciting part was the fire scenes but enjoyed learning about the cultures. They do not allow any photography or recording during the show. It's quite amazing most of the actors are college students from BYU.

WOW WOW WOW! Took my breath AWAY! I am a show girlie and have seen everything from smaller plays to broadway musicals. I know a good show when I see one and this was definitely it. Cannot say enough good things about it. It was amazing to see the whole story unfold, the music, vocals, dancing, just everything. I think the fire dancing alone was the best thing I have ever seen. The fire dancers were simply amazing. So much talent. If you go to the PCC for anything make it be this! My favorite part of the day. I will say if you plan to open PCC then it is kind of a long day, but you can sit and relax and enjoy this show. It's an amazing way to end the night. (Will also mention all of the seats are good viewing. We sat halfway up and could still see everything going on and it wasn't too far away.)

This show was wonderful. We bought it as part of our Polynesian Cultural Center tickets - expensive, but one of those "once in a lifetime" kind of things. It was so neat to see how they wove facts/history into a story that connected all the polynesian islands. The actors/performers did an excellent job and were extremely talented. The special effects also were really good. So glad we did this and I'd definitely come back again.

This place is EXPENSIVE. $200+ per person if you want the higher end buffet and better seats... I still ended up with pretty terrible seats. It was raining when I got here... stayed raining pretty much throughout the entire stay. I couldn't even see anything because the rain kept getting in my eyes. I somehow had a piece of plastic in the guava chocolate cake slice that I got from the HIGHER END buffet?!?! I didn't particularly enjoy any of the food (i tried a little bit of everything) but the kalua pork was pretty okay. the sauces were too sweet and wished it was a tad saltier but maybe they don't salt the pig while its cooking?so this place is owned by the mormon church / affiliated with BYU. If you want to go to byu, you have to work at the polynesian cultural center? The employees are all students and they get paid $14 / hour. I wonder at what point of it is exploitation vs what point is promotion. I get that Hawaii is a tourist destination and so much of the island caters to that which leaves me wondering... how much of the performances are authentic and what is not. I wonder if the islanders appreciate PCC showing off their culture, or if it more so feels like they're pimping out their culture. Something to consider I guess. It'd be crazy if the performers are also being paid $14 an hour... I would rate this differently if I had just purchased tickets to see the show but i don't think that's even an option.

PAGENT describes this theatrical presentation of the "Story of Island Kings" and the breath of life in an outdoor theatre. The production is amazing. Our daughter surprised us with tickets and we got to see the show from a lovely location. People are asked not to take pictures or video during the show. The story has something for everyone including the children. It is tropical with adventure, and battles, and the birth of a King. The soundtrack and the staging were amazing, taking place at a Pacific Island village. Great story. Full of singing local songs, and dress. An abundance of high energy dancing and fire dancers. Volcanoes and young love. It had it all.The energy level was off the hook and everyone in the cast was invested. We loved every second of the show. There was also a storyteller's narrative in the background to keep you up with the action. Brilliant. This play is a great way to end your day.

A beautiful show. The special effects they can provide in a theater setting were amazing compared to a small local show. Beautiful story and the little guy, something else kind of acting, even from the upper deck seating.

Our hotel had a deal for tickets and we walked over to the show. The parking lot is huge but it gets full so if you drive come early or be prepared to walk from the far corners. The show is about 75 minutes long and it's a visual show. Worth the $70/ticket price and walking around their little shopping area beforehand is fun. If you have extra time on your trip, it may be worth checking out the Polynesian Cultural Center when they're open and adding on this show at the end of your day.
