Wagyu? All-you-can-eat? Count me in!As big fans of Shabuya, we were intrigued at the idea of higher end hot pot at a higher end price. AYCE hot pot just warms the soul in a different way, and adding in some of the richest, fattiest cuts of meat? How can you go wrong! For a two birthday celebration, we called ahead of time to reserve a table for six. I had to call a day before our visit to reduce the head count and they were more than accommodating. When we arrived early, they seated us right away, and came around quite often to take orders. There's a 90 minute time limit, but after 90 minutes our server said oh you have 30 more if you'd like. Top notch service all around. Gyu Masu melds right into the architecture of Hilton Embassy Suites, adopting the contemporary elegance of modern hotel styling. It's very clean and quiet. The AC was a little strong, but I can imagine it would be a refreshing escape from hotter Kapolei nights. The little table got pretty tight with a full shabu shabu setup, so make sure you stack up your empty plates for service. Street parking is pretty easy out front, or find the second floor marked stalls behind the hotel. There were seven cuts of wagyu to try, and you can order four at a time. The cuts are much thicker than other hot pot places, which we loved. Here's what we thought:- Top Sirloin Butt - Had a fat line that tensed up and got noticeably tough compared to other cuts. Decent flavor. - Top Round - My favorite, perfect balance of marbling and flavor.- Short Plate - Thick fat cut that was just way too fatty for us.- Short Rib - Wow, very distinct flavor and great marbling that was an overall favorite.- Outside Skirt - Similar to short plate, so fatty and too rich.- Brisket - Fatty marbled meat, thin and tender. A bit too rich for us. - Chuck Roll - The least fatty and beefiest in flavor. Not my favorite but popular with those that like the beef! We skipped the extra cost cuts, which I'm sure are amazing, but the included meats were plenty rich and decadent. We honed in on a couple favorite cuts and reordered those throughout our meal. You can get up to two broths per pot, and we settled on miso and spicy garlic. They add wagyu tallow for amazing depth of flavor, and be careful with the spicy variants - it's got more kick than most places. Loved the broth here. Also note that they add tofu, bokchoy, cabbage, and mushroom to the broth, so you can skip those in your first round. Gotta say, the nabe ingredients do feel a little lacking compared to other places. "Mixed Mushrooms" were only quartered brown mushrooms - would be nice to have oyster, wood ear, or seafood mushrooms mixed in. Ramen, udon, and rice are staple starch options, but nothing special here like fresh or konjac noodles. Fish and shrimp are awesome options, but I regretted getting even one order of salmon, it was way too much (like a big 6in filet). The cooked kitchen items are also mostly a trap. Be very careful about what you order, it's probably better to focus on the shabu wagyu for value. We had a couple of good items but were disappointed in others.- Wagyu Pupu Steak - DELISH. Not the most tender, but absolutely popping with flavor and garnished with zesty green onions.- Fried Shrimp Dumplings - Brah these shumai have big, juicy shrimp pieces and are fried til the wrappers are nice and crispy. Recommend. - Ahi Poke - Previously frozen and stringy. The sauce was good, but the icy, low quality fish was not. - Lemon Ginger Opakapaka - Dry, hard, severely overcooked. The seasoning has a strong artificial flavor. Skip this one.You also get a free soft drink, which includes a variety of lemonade/limeade mixes. The limeades were very sour, and we had lilikoi, strawberry, and li hing flavors. Wonderful perk. They also brought out slices of Japanese Style Souffle Cheesecake, two since we had two birthdays! Very light and fluffy texture with a rich and smooth cheesecake flavor, enhanced by a honey sauce that is brighter and sweeter than most. Very generous, as these are normally $5.50 per slice, but we would absolutely pay full price to get these again. At $65 per person, it's a great deal, considering how many different wagyu cuts we got to try, and how many extra side options they have. It's an indulgent experience that is hard to treat like traditional hot pot, as the meat is exquisitely rich and hard to eat mountains of. I can't see it being a regular dining choice, but it's absolutely a worthwhile journey for special celebrations, or simply exploring high-end dishes at an affordable price.

Ordered 2 appetizers, my husband's lobster tails came out before them, rather dry. We waited over 10 minutes for my Wagu steak and had to cancel the appetizer. The wait staff were very nice and tried.

It was my friend's birthday, and wanted to go someplace new. Seen this restaurant on IG, otherwise would have never have found this place. A hidden gem in Kapolei in the embassy suites hotel. Restaurant is so cute, Asian modern decor. Lots of parking, street and private parking. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Scallop appetizer was so heavenly good. Served on a shell with all the flavors exploding in my mouth, we ordered this twice, my favorite of evening. Gyoza was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Shrimp tempura was not made fresh, frozen shrimp tempura. Wish they made their shrimp tempura from scratch. Salad was very refreshing and strawberries, what a delight. Raw fish was served chilled and flavored on point. My steak was cooked to perfection. I wish they had surf and turf, but bummers no combo plate. For dessert we had Japanese cheesecake, for our friend's birthday. They do not have ice cream, wish they did. Menu is very simple, not to much choices, but was very satisfied with atmosphere, service, location, and last but not least Food!! Maybe they will add more to menu, coming back for more. Love the location, chill, and relaxing vibe of restaurant. Telling all my friends and more celebrating to come. See you there!

Super friendly service! Our server was so fun and really helpful with our questions.Food was good! I got the wagyu striploin. It was cooked really well, but a little salty for my taste. I think I would rather get the tenderloin, which was a bit leaner but still tender. We also ordered the garlic shrimp and that was so good! Super garlicky! We ordered a bunch of side and appetizers. The scallop was so good - the sauce was flavorful and I liked the combination of toppings. The bacon mashed potatoes was probably my favorite side dish! The fried gyoza was pretty good and the sauce was spicy but yummy. If anything, my least favorite side was the broccoli - I probably wouldn't get it again. I also got the lilikoi lemonade and I LOVED it. I was definitely tempted to buy another one. They're located at the Embassy Suites Kapolei and the main entrance is right outside the front lobby area. They have parking on the second floor in the back of the hotel (spots are marked for Takumi, the former restaurant).

Great attentive service. Porkchops seem to be the Best value in my opinion. $19.50 for two generous pieces. Yakisoba's both garlic and shoyu flavors were a bit bland. But it was still a satisfying starch to complement the meats. Everything is Ala cart. Majority of items can be shareable/family style. No one ordered the expensive wagyu, so bill came out to around $150 for 5 people.

(See other reviews regarding location) Plenty of free street parking if not staying at Embassy Suites or living in one of several condos across the way. Otherwise, this seems oddly in the middle of "nowhere", which is not a criticism.Decor is modern, stylish. Ayla's Patisserie is located within the restaurant in the front left corner with 2 glass display cases (not reviewed here). I saw one reviewer had come specifically for the ramen but wasn't able to order it because it turns out it's only available for lunch - I did not know that, so I feel fortunate and am reviewing the ramen exclusively.People were very friendly and service oriented, which was great. The photo attached are four of the ramen offerings that our group chose to try. I'm an "original" or "classic" sort of guy, so my bias is usually that. For the Original, the broth is hearty, savory, full-bodied. It goes beyond "comfort food" in its richness. Sometimes broths are too subtle, sometimes that's what you want? This was anything but, and was deeply satisfying for me. The ramen noodles were FRESH, just what you would want. The wagyu slices were super tender, very savory. But I'll be honest, in a ramen full of flavor and pleasing textures already, any tender meat would suffice/don't hate me. But with that comes my other criticism: I have a hard time spending more than $20 for ramen. Maybe the $$$ is partly due to the wagyu beef? So I would actually rate 4.5 stars because of the price. The other ramen were terrific as well, but Yuzu isn't quite my taste to appreciate. The spicy ramen made me sweat, even though I felt it was highly tolerable, and it was certainly flavorful and delicious. Miso was very good as well despite my miso preference limited to the more traditional miso soup.Gyoza was good too, but I'm not a gyoza connoisseur - when it comes to dumplings of any Asian kind, it's either good or not good (pass/fail), after which it's all about quantity (I've downed 48 in one sitting once. in my youth. homemade at home). So the gyoza here rates Good/Pass. Meat is meaty, savory, not a lot of filler. Skin is thin and crispy-ish, holds the dumpling together well without falling apart. (was there sauce? I can't remember if there was sauce)Will try the wagyu steak when I'm back in the neighborhood! (I like mine medium rare, so fingers crossed)

The place is new and inside embassy suites on the 1st floor so it's really clean. There's ample seating if you have large parties, there were two other large parties there with us. The service was good and we didn't have to flag our waitress down once, she was great. The three stars is for the food though. We all asked for medium rare and got more medium to medium well. I didn't have the heart to send my New York steak back because I was too shame to cause it wasn't my dinner and I was guest to the dinner party. But my steak was cooked well and had no seasoning at all...THANK GOODNESS for the dipping sauces to make it more flavorful and add some moisture to the dry meat. The scallops were overcooked and all you could taste was mushrooms and bacon, the scallops might as well not been in there. The gyozas were good, I think they put potato in there though which was different. My grandma liked her salmon and the chicken was okay, but it was basically just sauced chicken and without the sauce it would be bland since the chicken wasn't even seasoned. I hate writing bad reviews, especially for new places, but their grill guy needs to work on his timing. The kitchen needs to work on timing period. Half the table got their food, and the other half of us just got our rice. While our rice was getting cold it took 10-15 minutes for our entree to come out. We won't be coming back until we read that they've got this down a little better.

First off they charged us a large party fee of $80, where there wasn't any warning from the host that there was a large party fee! Second , we were not a large party we had 4 adults and 4 toddlers , that is not considered a large party!! 3rd I came to this place because Mr Mean gave it a thumbs up. The food was mediocre and way over hyped , food was also way over priced , the wagyu strip and boneless kalbi way to salty, and for 65$ 6 oz wagyu, I expected not to have any hard pieces , but there was and way to salty for all 3 plates we bought..I will definitely not be returning or recommend this place to anyone

If there was a way to give zero stars, I would. We ordered the shoyu yakisoba, bacon bits mashed potatoes, garlic pork chops, fries and the wagyu tenderloin. Service wasnt good even though we were only 1 of 3 tables there. Server didn't check back after dropping food and we had to flag her down just to get her to come to us.I ordered my wagyu tenderloin medium rare and it came out super under done. We asked for it to be cooked a little more and when it came back I could immediately tell that the chef added more salt. It was already super salty to begin with and now it was inedible. My husbands pork chops were also too salty to eat after the 3rd bite. It's sad when the best thing on your table ends up being the fries. This is not a place I'd ever come back to or recommend to anyone. My advice: go someplace else. It's not worth the money.

Horrible. Came here around 9:00 and they were out of all steaks. BRUHHHH. That's what we came for! Ended up with the shrimp tempura, which btw, is the COSTCO shrimp tempura in the box!! The garlic ramen, and garlic ahi steak. Everything was just horrible. Bland, mushy, terrible. Service was fine and she gave us a 10% discount for the inconvenience of NO STEAK. Never going back.
