Acoustic guitars
Just a small portion of Good Guys guitar selection. I sooo regret not picking up that red Ibanez Destroyer!!
Koaloha concert
Really nice collection of guitars - this one in the middle looks like shards of mirror were pasted all over it
Thank goodness they are open!

I typically have posted to YELP! like a "Karen", i.e., to rant about being "done wrong " by some company and/or individual. So it pleases me to no end to heap deserving praise on Good Guys Music, and especially Chris, for doing such an OUTSTANDING job on setting up (i.e., lowering from the factory setting) the "action" (i.e., height of the strings from the fretboard) of my new Guild Jumbo acoustic/electric 12-string guitar. They also rescued my Ovation Koa 6-string after having a different local guitar shop do such a pathetic attempt of this same kind of delicate work that I didn't play it for over a year. Since the good guys at Good Guys fixed it, it plays PUUURRRFECTLY! If you're on Oah'u and you need this done, go there without reservation. You will it!

I first visited the store looking into buying an electric guitar. I honestly didn't want to buy a Fender as my first electric guitar and as a beginner because the price was intimidating but wow! When I first played it in this store, I fell in love with the sound. I was looking into more affordable options but I couldn't help but come back for the Fender Strat two weeks later. I ended up buying the same Fender Player Strat, along with a guitar bag on December 2020 and was given lots of complimentary guitar picks with variety of thickness and complimentary pack of replacement electric guitar strings. They even offered to change my strings for me for free if I needed to in the future. Wow! Not to mention how friendly the staff are, very willing to let you play the instruments in store and even gave you space and privacy to play. I was also told that if you wanted something that they didn't have in stock (such as a different color), they can order it for you.Definitely my favorite local-owned music store. I found a business card in my guitar bag, so thank you Chris for the awesome service!

Lots of 5 stars during this COVID crisis! Anyway, these are are my friends, BUT this doesn't mean this review is slanted in any way. These guys are fabulous musicians and when you go here, you are talking to some of Hawaii's finest players. You can trust what they tell you and they won't steer you wrong. They have lots of used and brand new instruments and look carefully because there are a lot of gems in the store. During this COVID time, they are practicing good safety protocols so you can feel safe in this store! If you have time, ask Bryan Aoyagi about Telecasters hahahaha. Quiz Vernon about rock guitar and if you are lucky, you get to hear the mastery of Bobby Nishida. All are fantastic guitarists!!!!GO NOW!

Came here several times, but haven't bought anything yet until just recently. My oldest loves to play the piano, ukulele, and guitar. We were searching for an acoustic guitar and he found one that he likes. Its Oscar Schmidt brand guitar. To me, it looks ugly, but my oldest likes it because the frame is a bit smaller than the usually sized guitars and the neck is skinny for his hands. This place has a variety of instruments to choose from and a lot of them are already on sale. They also sell accessories and parts. My sons guitar was barely used and costs $70. We bought a guitar stand, Cabo, some replacement strings for the future totaling $111. That's a great deal to me because I was intending to buy a $300 guitar, but fortunately, my son had an eye for this particular one.The parking lot is tight and is shared with other establishments. Located on Kapahulu next to Starbucks and Tenkaippin. All the staff are informational and friendly.

I have several ukes and have been doing my own maintenance, repair, and upgrades for 25 years. This was my first time going to any shop for repair help. I expected to get good help based on friends' experience, but even with my high expectations I was still thoroughly impressed with the fast, excellent, and reasonably priced service I received. I also got good advice on a DIY I might tackle next. I highly recommend you check out Goodguys next time you need work on your uke. 10 stars!
