We were invited to dinner with friends and meet my cousin which was a great surprise! We ordered family style where everyone order a dish we had the beef chow fun which was very delicious. The scallops with Chinese peas & mushrooms also were good except the scallops were so small you could hardly taste the scallops, but the vegetables were nice and crispy. The egg plant and shrimp was really good and not too spicy and the egg plant was cooked just right,The lemon chicken was very good and tasty! The fried rice was good more on the hard side, different.

We live here now, I guess?Sadly, our formerly favorite neighborhood Chinese has been sold and just isn't the same. For you Kaimuki folks, yes I'm talking about Duk Kee, and yes, I understand that the owners of Golden Eagle actually bought out the former owners of Duk Kee.However, the food here is so much better. Which is sad for us because we loved Duk Kee and it's closer to home, etc. But the menu is different here! And there are certain things that are unique to G.E. (ahem, honey walnut *eggplant* for you non-shrimp-eating people). Actually it was the eggplant that brought us back here. It's a delicate, but yet very crispy crunch. We also ordered the sweet sour cabbage with pork and minute chicken cake noodles. These noodles taste good and were pretty crispy even though they were covered in that minute chicken sauce. Yeah, everything we had was good. The staff seemed slammed, though. We went for a semi-early dinner and almost immediately after being seated, like 5 or more parties came in. So service was not the fastest, but still totally fine.Parking has changed here recently if you haven't been to the Old Stadium Mall in awhile. It's a decent sized lot and parking is free in the lot for 1 hour, but after that you have to pay using a QR code? I'm not sure exactly how they're monitoring this, but we've seen an unmarked car come by, take pictures of cars and leave a ticket, so beware. None of the shop owners (I've asked others in the same strip mall and gotten different answers) seem to know for certain whether or not you need to scan that code even if you're only staying less than 1 hour? G.E. has an enlarged version of the QR at the entrance for your convenience.Anyway, definitely try out Golden Eagle! I want to test more of the standards next time - chow fun or fried rice, pork chops, maybe kau yuk or some soup. I heard the gau gee is amazing too.

SUPER-CRISPY CRUNCHY GAU GEE !!! EXCELLENT WOR WONTON MEIN. I haven't been here for a while but it seems to me that the ownership has changed. I usually have the wor wonton mein which is still great. The crispy gau gee is different than what I ordered the last time. The gau gee is really crispy which I wasn't expecting but it was really good ... a pleasant change from the traditional type. The parking has changed so you'll now have to use your cell phone camera to open the QR code which will take you to a site to add your license plate number as well as your cell phone number. The parking is free for the first hour but if you're going to be there longer you can either pay for the extra time or you can wait for the text that will remind you that you getting close to your one hour time limit. If you want, you can click on the link in the text and add and pay for more time ... it's really very simple. The service and the folks here are really friendly and efficient.

First time.Last minute selection to get something different.Service was quick. Casual ambiance.Unfortunately, the scallops were the bay scallop "small" size, very little mushroom, and the portion size seemed a bit small compared to the price.

There was a Frolic article that chose G.E. as their fave Crispy Gau Gee. Couldn't remember how it tasted so decided to try again. Ordered a bunch of other things...was okay. Not my fave. Fried pork chop way better and tastier. Chow Fun bland, but lots of beef. Ginger chicken okay, but not enough sauce for the chicken. Then few nights later friends from mainland visiting and coming over for dinner, potluck style. So got the Gau gee again so they could try. For some reason this time was a lot better. But I got the wrong pork chop and this one junk. Can't win um all...I strongly put them in the "good enough" category. It's never so bad that I won't go back (it's convenient location is what keeps getting me...but prkg can suck if you go when it's busy) but never a place I craaaaave.

We usually ordered take out beef chow fun and fried rice. It's similar to Fairwood Drive Inn in Kaimuki. You get what you pay for, reasonable prices for the food. Two and a half stars!

I live near golden eagle and decided to try out the place with my boyfriend. We ordered General Taos chicken, the crispy pork dumplings (I don't remember what they were called right now) and some fried rice. It was all super delicious, and up to that point I would have given 5 stars. Unfortunately, the next morning, something felt very wrong within me and I was knocked out the whole day with some horrible food poisoning. This was the only food it could have been, and I couldn't eat or drink anything all day because (tmi) I would throw it up. My boyfriend was completely fine though, so it's luck of the draw I suppose. If you are ok with risking it, this place is delicious, but unfortunately I will not be back.

The food is really good I highly recommend it. Their cooks are fast we did takeout and our food was ready in 15-20 min we ordered a lot 9-10 dishes. We're definitely going back. Except FYI.... "Do not call for takeout on Chinese New Years!" No Chinese restaurant answers the phone! We called all the other Chinese restaurants nearby. Only one answered, Maple Garden he said 45-1 hr wait. We decided to order Vietnamese. Took a fast shower I called Hale Vietnam instead dialed Maple Garden the man was frantic started yelling said "we're not taking anymore orders and hung up!" Lol We go to p/up our Pho passed Happy Days Chinese restaurant and it is "packed" their celebrating Chinese NY! Too Funny! That's the reason it went straight to voicemail! We thought they were closed! Since when Chinese restaurants are closed?Chinese restaurants are never closed!!!
