Awesome local surf shop located upstairs from Cinnamon's Restaurant.Nice selection of boards and accessories along with the epic custom air work of Christian Bendo on display.Christian's artwork caught my eye and soon had my full attention.I purchased two of his ocean themes created on local wood, that captures the great mana of these beautiful Pacific Islands and the unique feel of Kailua Beach.There is also a display of many of his unique custom prints, captured on real wood postcards.BONUS! I asked "John" the sales representative if I could meet the artist and have him personally sign his artwork, that I had decided to purchase!Yes! I was able to meet, talk story and even take photos with this magical creative artist.Mahalo for the fantastic five star treatment and amazing artwork that will soon become a family heirloom.I highly received visiting Kailua town and having breakfast or lunch at Cinnamon's and browse the local shops and make a stop in at Gnarwall's Surf Shop to check out their products, good vibes and local feel.I'm thrilled with my unique art purchase and in meeting the artist Christian in person.It's a unique opportunity to meet and talk to the man behind the magical artwork that he creates on the board.

Came to support this local surf shop looking for a board recommendation and some accessories. Came before opening and got breakfast below at cinnamons . Went upstairs after to go check out the shop, and no one was there with door opened, boards all over the floor like a store room. Said hello and no response. Figured we'd come back later. Noticed outside they had some free surf magazines, with about 9 issues on the table. Picked up 2-3 of the 2023 ones. As I walked downstairs, the shop guy shouts at me from the top deck " you gonna take a hole stack bruddah "? I said "yeah, saw 2-3 or three that were free out front in the common area." Told me to "support local " and that those were only for paying customers. At that point I went up and left his magazines back in the common area in front of the store. Went to the men's room next door to the shop and saw a meth baggy in the stall, would make sense for the freak out and freak out this guy had. No wonder they have not had reviews in over a year.There are plenty other local shops in the area. Go check them out instead of this junker of a shop. This place deserves to go under.Go over to Mokulua instead, way better shop .

Ohhh this is a ROUGH review for me!! I LOVE the name since it is a play on words and my family has a whole thing with me and Narwhals ;) but on the other hand, I think they really scour the FB Marketplace and Craig's List to grab up all the good board offers then turn around and sell for SO MUCH HIGHER :( I saw a board that I was trying to get on Marketplace and I know it was the same one because I still had a screenshot on my phone. They had it for $140 more than what they picked it up for so that made me sad. I think that is super uncool. They have a plethora of good boards in there but used shops that grab and hoard - not so into that. And I know they aren't the only ones that do it, just disappointed. Aloha

Best Surf Shop in Kailua. They have the best prices and inventory. Dude was super chill and helped me look for a right board. The people there helped me pack my surfboard for shipping to the mainland. Also the coconut car airfreshner is bomb.

Came here as kind of a beginner surfer looking for a surfboard and bought a used board for about 550$ and when I got a ding in the board and took it to a legit surf shop repair and turns out I was screwed over by the guy who owns the shop who sold a board worth 300$ for 550$, so please stay away from this shop, guys a real scammer and is just trying to take advantage of new surfers, my advice is to go to multiple surf shops and see what boards are worth not the first time this guy does it and won't be the last.

I went in to check out their selection of boards, and was impressed with the quantity and quality of what they had in stock. After telling John what I was looking for, he directed me to exactly what I had in mind. Great service, huge selection, and very reasonable prices. I will absolutely be back! Thanks, Gnarwall!

Great place to sell your boards they even mail you the check . Elijah was very helpful when I dropped off my boards too consign .

Shop owner was absurdly rude. I would never spend a dollar here and would advise anyone that would listen to please look elsewhere for your surfboards.

Owner isn't local, vibe is shady, horrible customer service, zero Aloha. Better shops in the area that care about providing great service unlike this place.
