Wow, where do I begin? Food, ambiance, service all 10/10. This Italian Asian fusion restaurant is located in Downtown Honolulu. If you're from here you know packing in this area is rough. If you're lucky you can find a meter parking but if not there's a few paid lots in the surrounding blocks. We made a reservation on Open Table for 5:45 pm and were seated immediately. To start, we got the Hokkaido milk rolls and onion dip plus the prosciutto San Daniele per the suggestion of our server. The milk rolls were soft and the garlic butter was the perfect complement. The onion dip was served cold with shrimp chips which was yummy. And we were so glad we ordered the prosciutto because it was the star of the appetizers. You stuff the bread with the prosciutto along with the pickles & it made for the perfect bite. The brine of the pickles cut through the fat of the meat and was excellent. As for the mains, we ordered the dan mien Vietnam-atriciana, capellini granchio, gnocchi mabolognese and char siu pork. Everything was excellent but my favorite had to be the gnocchi. The beef cheek ragu literally melted in your mouth. I would come back just for that dish alone. We ended with the tiramisu and that was the perfect cherry on top to a delicious meal. With a bottle of wine plus tip, everything came out to around $350 and was enough to feed our group of 4 comfortably. Definitely a splurge but well worth it for a date night or dinner with friends.

Pros: cute atmosphere, good service, and Hokkaido milk rolls. Cons: Small portions with underwhelming flavor. Grilled Kamalani tasted like gas from the torch they probably used to crisp the skin. Dungeness crab pasta had a subtle flavor. Vietnamese pasta didn't taste at all like there was a Vietnamese influence except for the egg noodles. Nothing really stood out to me flavor wise. And not to mention the prices didn't help. They claim that their dishes are best shared family style...However, one pasta is maybe enough for one person. I don't mind smaller portions but to say "family style" is misleading. I expect something family style to at least be able to be shared amongst 4 people.Came for a friend's birthday and was bummed the meal wasn't what we were anticipating. Probably won't be back :(

Pleasantly surprised on how great the food, service and atmosphere was. From the moment we walked in, everyone was very inviting. We had reservations at 5:30 pm and were seated promptly in the left back corner. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. We started off with some cocktails. If you like Calpico, like my boyfriend then the Sun Chong Spritz cocktail is for you!! Slight sweetness and a very refreshing taste. If you like a little sweeter cocktail with a fruity flavor, then the Chromakey dreamcoat is the cocktail for you. Then, we began our appetizer portion and that's we were blown away by the flavors!!! We had the Nairagi Crudo, Scallop Carpaccio, Prosciutto San Daniele. As each appetizer came out we were so surprised with the flavors and couldn't wait for the next dish to come out. Everything was nice and light and wasn't overpowered by the other flavors in each dish. Next came our entrees, we had the Capellini Granchio, Char Siu pork and an order of the Hokkaido bread which we used to mop up all the saucy goodness from both dishes. We really enjoyed the pasta dish, and had commented on the type of pasta that was used. We both agreed if a different pasta was used it would make the dish really heavy, but the use of angel hair pasta was perfect!!!The showstopper for us was the Char Siu pork. It was perfectly cooked and was accompanied by red wine plums. Make sure if you have this dish, eat each piece of pork with a slice of plum then take a piece of soft Hokkaido bread to mop up the sauce.Lastly, we finished our feast with the Five-spice carrot cake which was pretty tasty. But we enjoyed the ginger gelato more than the cake itself. It had a very light taste, that helped to cleanse the palate. We really enjoyed Glovedi and will definitely be back to try the other dishes!!!

Aloha, our first time to this new location, prior only visited pre fixe pop-up at restaurant row. Pleasantly happy at delicious dishes chef does with a permanent kitchen, nice. I like the use of Thai and Asian spices in the dishes as well as European flavors from caviar in an onion dip on shrimp chips to lemon grass in clams, all so ono. And yes there is still Italian pasta to be had, nice. We had 4 of us which worked well to get a good variety as great for sharing dishes. So bring a date or meet friends, Enjoy!

We first discovered Giovedi during their pop-up at Restaurant Row, where they showcased their Italian and Asian fusion cuisine. We were immediately impressed by their milk breads, salad, and carpaccio--all fresh, flavorful, and creative dishes. Now that they have their own restaurant, the experience is even better! The expanded menu and daily specials offer so much variety. I especially enjoyed the veal tartare, their perfectly cooked noodle dishes, and the carpaccio, which remains a favorite. Each dish is bursting with unique flavors--savory with unexpected spices that make every bite exciting. The noodles, sometimes seasoned with delicious truffle mushroom, are an absolute standout.Overall, we love Giovedi's unique fusion and can't wait to return for more! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a creative and delicious dining experience.

Wow I must really like this place because I went twice in one week! Sunday night :Perfect pretheater venue with great drinks and food! We were able to walk in and sit at the bar which allowed us to see the food being beautifully plated and the prosciutto being sliced. You can also sit at high or low tops for 2 or in the courtyard in back. I got the Sun Chong Spritz because it was highlighted on the menu. It was pretty good but I preferred my friend 's 84 Pontiac Dream. Our other friend got a glass of wine. We all shared a plate of Prosciutto San Daniele which was just the right appetizer for us. Our savvy server suggested we add on another Vietnamese sesame donut since there were 3 of us and only 2 donuts per order. They were kinda like gindui but not sticky or oily. You cut open the top and put in the thinly sliced prosciutto and giardiniera to make a delightful little sandwich. Friday night :Since I enjoyed the vibe and wanted to try more of the food I returned a few days later. We were lucky to get a table without reservations. DRINK :Many of the cocktails intrigued me but I decided to go with the SETEC Astronomy "a curious boozy fusion" root beer drink even though our server described it as "interesting". It was unique in a good way. Mixed with all the other flavors, the root beer wasn't so recognizable. Loved the very thinly sliced lemon peel garnish and the beautiful glass it was serve in.FOOD;*** The Green Salad was a beautiful mixture of of butter lettuce, romaine, endives and some watercress, topped with thinly sliced hearts of palm, parmigiano reggiano, and crumbled croutons (so you get the flavor of toast without the rough texture of huge croutons which can sometimes cut your palate) it was dressed with just the right amount of vinegrette which allowed the natural sweetness of the lettuce to shine through. Chef's kiss! Simple but excellent. This may have been one of the best green salads I've had! ***The Gnocchi mabolognese was also a winner with its soft pillowy flour (not potato) pasta, tender Wagyu beef cheek ragu with a dollop of whipped tofu, perfect for lactose intolerants. A wonderful combination of flavors and textures. The Scallop Crudo appetizer consisted of very thin slices of scallops topped with brown butter crumbles, crispy leeks and bits of fresh orange that brightened it. I liked the flavors of the condiments but if you are hungry I recommend getting something more substantial. Grazie to our knowledgeable and attentive server Jordan and Giovedi for another lovely evening on Hotel St.

Note: Sorry no pics. Device free dining with friends.Every now and then a fusion eatery makes a splash with bold new creation. They shine for a while and just as quickly as they appeared, poof, gone. Chinese pizza, Japanese hotdogs, Korean burritos. Now Vietnamese / Italian.Intro aside, this is a fun fusion. Strong flavors, umami supercharging and the unique effect when you'd say "that taste strange" is dismissed as "experimentation".For starters, the scallop Carpaccio shines. Earthiness of the crushed pistachio nuts plays up the nuttiness of the browned butter that in turn make the sweet oceanic taste of the scallop shine all tempered with a burst of citrus.Do not pass on the Hokkaido milk rolls. Pillowy soft with a good balance of sweet and savory. The black garlic (not to be confused with burnt garlic) butter, adding another dimension. For pasta, the "Dan Mien Vietnam-Atriciana", their take on the classic Roman amatriciana, replaces the guanciale with lap xuong sausage and Italian pasta with egg noodles packs a flavor punch. Sweet, rich, cheesy, who doesn't like that? All is not perfect. The grilled kampachi is presented beautifully with perfectly crisped skin but the fish itself, overcooked and slightly dry. The "Char Siu Pork" featuring a kurobuta rib chop, while perfectly cooked, lacked the expected roasted meat, burnt maltose and umami notes of fermented tofu that you crave from freshly made char siu.Small but well chosen Italian focused wine list. Good selection of spirits including a nice selection of amaro to close the meal.Bohemian chic decor.Friendly, competent service.A fun dining experience that is best suited for good spirited foodies who love to make comments at the table as they sample this and that. LOL!Enjoy Gioivedi while you can because fusion eateries come and go like the blink of an eye and none has stood the test of time.

Our server Tony was down-to-earth and knowledgeable! He also gave us rosé for our anniversary!EVERY dish was delectable. We ordered salted Hokkaido milk rolls, which I enjoyed with the black garlic butter. I also could not stop eating the onion dip with the shrimp chips (I wish they offered more of the dip and chips!). We also tried the dan mien Vietnam-Articiana, which was my favorite of the pastas we tried (the other being the capellini granchio, which had a nice crunch to it, but I just love red sauces more). We finished with the char siu pork, which my partner enjoyed. I can't wait to return to try other items!!!

The food was great. It satisfies my taste buds. We go on Valentines day and they have a fixed menu! The pasta is a bit too al dente for me. Plus the steak and rice does not go well for me but it all boils down to personal preference. Definitely, a must try!
