Germaine's Luau

This is absolutely the BEST Lūau on the island of Oahu! We've been to a couple different ones and this is the most enjoyable and authentic with everything you'd imagine when you think of a luau! The location is amazing where you put your feet in the literal sand while you enjoy the stunning views of the ocean. The show is fun and lively and the whole experience feels like a family has invited you to their family backyard bbq Lūau! The menu has everything you can want with a buffet style that where you can go back for 2nds and 3rds and you will! Along with bottomless non alcoholic drinks like soda and coffee and delicious bartender concoctions you do want to miss out on this Lūau!

FANTASTIC $$ for a luau on Oahu. It's not as frilly or fancy as the more expensive hotel luaus but the actual show is just as good (smaller dance team than I've seen at the shows that cost 100$ more per person). It's a great deal for a GREAT show.Think picnic tables and basic accoutrements. Arrive early for the best seats in the section you paid for. The pictures we took near the lighthouse at sunset are the best we got in Hawaii. Staff is super friendly, attentive and funny. Not going to lie, I've never enjoyed the food at any luau I've been to, price hasn't mattered , but as a vegetarian I think it's to be expected. The pig is the star, and it smells dang good. Remember that tips are appreciated.

I has to give one start in order to write a review. This event is a waste time and money my husband and I were disappointed we won't recommend it !!! My husband never writes reviews but he was so upset that he wanted to write about it our experience The bus ride was the highlight, the best part. We were the last table to be excused to go get our food, not a problem someone has to be last. But at the beginning of the food line there were no eating utensils they were all gone no one was keeping an eye out so as to refill them. Next all the coldsaw was empty my wife had to scrape the bottom of the pan to try and get some. We were about halfway thru the line when they announced that if anyone wanted second they could go get some.I'm thinking what we haven't even finished getting our food and others are coming over for a second plate. After someone got us our eating utensils we went to sit down. I started to eat and after two bites of food all the lights went out. Now I'm eating in the dark and trying to watch a show.This event was way over priced for such poor service. My wife and I were very disappointed and would not recommend your services to anyone else. Staff is so friendly and the sunset on the beach is epic! Every table has a good view of the stage and show is top notch. Pork and chicken are solid everything else looked pretty cafeteria style. Brightside they have poi. I'm one of the few mainlanders that actually likes it. Downside mosquitoes so wear repellent!!! It's also in an industrial park so our Lyft driver almost didn't pick us up at the end of the show. They also have cats that wander around. I like them but one of my colleagues is super allergic so bad news for her.

Definitely the best luau on the island. Away from all the crowds with good parking and decent food. The dancers are the best out of several luaus we have tried with all the different friends & families that have visited the island.

I do not recommend this luau. We were a bit late from driving from Turtle Bay and this place was at a cul-de-sac with gates closed. After circling around, a man pops out asking us if we were here for the luau and after we said yes, he opened the fence for us. We parked at the first spot and walked in. Everybody was already seated and watching the show by the time we got our shell necklace and drink tickets. We weren't too sure where to sit down until a luau host lady pointed out that the wristband was color coded to match the table cloth. We had the green one so we had to sit at the green table and those were all at the back or the right hand side with a bad view, but near the beach. I stood in line for the drinks, you get one comp drink of choice. We got the virgin piña colada, as my daughter liked that drink and he got the mai tai rum drink. Most of the green tables were full and so we sat at the blue table and someone told us to squeeze in to sit on the green one. And the one Caucasian lady told me directly at my face to sit somewhere else. She wasn't happy about us sitting there with other strangers. Other people said it was ok for us to sit down, but I got up to leave because I wasn't comfortable with what she said, and everyone on the table was Caucasion. I got up and asked if we could just sit at the blue table where we were and the first gentleman said that he would allow it while the first lady said that we could not and had to follow the color rules. Well, I said that the one lady was prejudice about us sitting at the green one. And the guy named Lawakua, a customer host, said that if anyone asked us to move, then for them to speak to him. We sat and waited for our table to be called for dinner. The two ladies that sat before us already had their food and we were just there, it just felt awkward the entire time. I felt like we weren't welcome. I would have left if I could but afterall, we did purchase tickets online weeks ago, looked forward to this event. Btw, this wasn't my choice of the luau. I only remembered the Pacific Cove Luau long ago and had really enjoyed that and the one from Maui. This Germaine's luau wasn't as popular and had a bad review and I should have known, but I wasn't the one who bought the tickets and couldn't cancel them. I went with the flow and tried to enjoy it, but it just wasn't up to par. And the food wasn't even hot. And the macaroni salad was mixed on with the potato salad and that was strange like I was getting leftovers. I didn't even see the roast pig as I have at the other two luau that I've been. It just wasn't a good day for me. I tried to eat half but it went to waste!! Never again would I attend this luau. I was greatly disappointed. And I'm ashamed of that lady asking us to move to another table. There's still people like that at this day and age?!?! Hawaii is a mixed culture, how dare she? I didn't even care if we had moved to the next table, the whole experience was just tainted and I just couldn't wait to leave. We were one of the first ones to leave. Just couldn't wait to drive back to our hotel to end the day.

On my first visit to Hawaii I knew I wanted to go to a luau! I found this one through locals that told me it was the best experience, food and overall show!They were right, you are given a wooden lei, a complimentary free photo that we took with a beautiful dancer and then we were seated! Whichever package we booked we were given 2 drink tickets, we used them on the pins colada and blue Hawaiian, we went back for Mai Tais and all of the other delicious cocktails! We were seated at a table with the nicest people (picnic style) they had a buffet of food you were called up to get a plate from and then the show began! It went for a couple hours. The food was decent, but I wasn't running back for seconds. You're here for the view, show, and drinks! Couldn't recommend this luau more, they give you the best experience.This was such a highlight of our trip! My bf said he wished we did a luau the first and last day we were there!

Came to Germaine's Luau for my and my son's birthday. On recommendation of comedian Gabriel Iglesias. We got there a little early (30 minutes), and was able to enjoy some time at the beach park next-door. The staff was amazing. From the ladies, working the parking, the ladies working the ticket booth, the gentleman directing us for pictures and drinks. Overall, every person we met, there was spectacularly wonderful. Especially since it was Thanksgiving day. The person who gave us our little tattoos, was also an excellent dancer. The young ladies, who made the flowers for our hair, also amazing dancers. Watching them pull the pig from the pit was awesome, the food was delicious, the pork was tender, the vanilla buttercream cake was absolutely perfect. Just sweet enough. Everything felt like homemade food and it was a lovely experience.

This place should shut down. What a joke of a Luau. 150$ and you get to eat of chinet paper plates with a plastic fork. When you get to the end of the buffet line, there is a woman that asks....beef or pork. You can only have one or the other. They also don't tell you that one drink is two tickets. While you're eating, they have staff roaming with Green trash bags clearing tables. Add in the feral cats and you have quite a romantic time. We bought the middle package. When we arrived they told us it was open seating....well it isn't. You have to sit where your "wristband" color assigns you. Realistically, they are all decent seats viewing wise. The limited food was just ok. The staff was kind of rude and didn't seem to care. The 35 minute ride is not worth it. I would look for another Luau if I were you...we won't be back.Edit: I forgot to mention the dessert was forgotten. They offered a 2 in x 3in piece of yellow cake...nothing else really. I think they had a fruit salad.

My recent visit to Germaine's Luau with my family, a mix of locals and visitors, was an eye-opener, and unfortunately, not in a positive way. As a kama'aina, I expected the spirit of Aloha to shine through in every aspect of the experience. However, the lack of courtesy and respect from the staff was stark and disheartening.There were three particular incidents that marred our evening:When my partner was invited on stage, naturally, I wanted to capture the moment. A tourist family kindly allowed me to sit upfront for a better view. However, a staff member repeatedly and loudly instructed me to move, disrupting the recording and leaving an audio trail of the unpleasant interaction. This lack of understanding and respect was jarring.During dinner, while the bus escort was clearing our table, their behavior was unprofessional. They jokingly referred to discarded items as 'throw away nobody,' coupled with laughter. Their attempt at humor fell flat and came off as insensitive and inappropriate.The final straw was during a hula performance, where women were invited on stage. Instead of politely asking other guests to sit for a clearer view, staff members rudely yelled, "SIT DOWN". The absence of basic politeness was shocking.The theme of the show was Aloha, but the behavior of the staff was a poor reflection of this cherished value. The lack of manners and respect was a total letdown. It's disappointing to witness such a display, especially in a setting that should embody the warmth and hospitality of Hawaiian culture.In retrospect, choosing the Polynesia Cultural Center, with its more reasonable pricing and respectful atmosphere, seems like a far better option for future gatherings. Germaine's Luau, sadly, missed the mark on delivering an experience worth cherishing.
