Salt and pepper pork chops.Huge portions and an affordable price! Overall they were good, a little dry, but good.Would go back for it again. Great value for a huge portion of well seasoned deep fried goodness!

Crispy gau gee app - juicy and huge. I think it's their pork hash in a won ton wrapper. But it definitely needs sauce cuz it doesn't have enough salt on its own.Garlic chicken wings app - tasty. No batter. Old school kine. My first gen chinese parents liked them.Garlic fish plate - large but thin pieces of battered fish. Tasty plate lunch. Minute chicken cake noodles - noodles were oddly sweet. Caught us off guard. Chicken was super salty. I normally love cake noodles but not sure I'd order again. Beef brisket and tendon funn (gravy) - large amount of noodles with big pieces of meat and tendon. Good flavorOverall, price is decent. Food is decent. The flavors were on the sweeter side. Customer service is good. Restaurant is very clean.

Takeout Dinner in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii...Looking for a quick meal nearby, I searched my Yelp app and found Garden Island Café. I was relieved to see reviews from my friends, Jo Y., Fran C., Gail U., Marisa G., Iris T., Serena M., Julie T., Alice N., and Jace T. They're trustworthy Yelpers!Free parking was a breeze. Inside, several customers were waiting in line for their orders. The competent, friendly cashier interacted with each person politely and efficiently!I got the two daily specials at $10.25 each: Garlic Fish and Beef Broccoli. The "to-go" bag was ready in no time. When I opened the boxes at home, I was surprised at the generous amount of beef broccoli - filled to capacity! The garlic fish was delicious! I was really happy with the food and service! I look forward to returning and getting the next weekly special!

I really appreciate their daily lunch plate specials. Find a day that has the item you crave. Today was cold ginger chicken for me - with tossed salad. Don't forget to ask for extra sauce. Didn't fail. Feed both me and my son. 2 meals in one!

What a deal! Hubz went to pickup a couple plate lunches that were on special this week. Got Hamburger Steak and Mochiko Chicken (packed... they taped it to keep the cover down). Two plates can easily feed 4... and taste was spot on. Portion is great and so affordable. For the biggest bang for my buck, will definitely be back to Garden Island Cafe in Waipahu.

I finally got a chance to try this place after numerous recommendations from friends. All the great things they were saying are all true. Great service. Great food, great prices. It's located in Waipahu. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is small. I always do take out. They have a great variety of local and Chinese dishes. Daily and weekly specials as well. I ordered take out and it was quick and easy. The food came out hot, fresh and flavorful. I like the mochiko chicken , Korean chicken, pork chops and noodles. Everything I have ordered so far has been spot on. On my favorite list for sure.

Great place! So much food at such an affordable price. I did not expect so much food. My parents and I shared this and we still had leftovers after this. Tons of food at such a good price. So hard to find someplace that offers this much food for a reasonable price nowadays. Everything tastes great and was delicious. I will definitely be back!

Minute chicken cake noodle is not good at all. Taste isbon the sweet side. Seems like they use cut up BBQ chicken and then just add the cake noodle. Cake noodle doesn't taste fresh at all. I don't recommend this menu item at all.

Been a regular here for years, and hands down the best quality food with the best prices!Plates are packed with food to the point that you can't barely close them.Never a long wait time. Great customer service!
