Beyond helpful - I needed to furnish my office space, and thought it would be convenient to start with the place I'd walked past several times on Bishop Street - at Furniture Plus. I rely on Yelp quite a bit and nearly didn't stop after reading the only other review, but the showroom looked clean, professional and full of interesting office ideas, so I went in. Really happy I did! The sales people Beverly (?) and Nick met me at the door and walked me through several ideas for setting up my office space, and really worked to give me several options that fit my budget. I had no idea how many options there are and how radically different designs could add to the efficiency of my office - ergonomic chairs, computer set up and key board options (that might finally get rid of my tension headaches during marathon days at my desk), and desk / filing arrangements that are really customised. After a painless installation, I have been using my new office space for a week or so and am very happy. I was surprised that the installation, done by another company that subcontracts to Furniture +, was supervised by the sales person Nick. I did not expect that! That fact alone made it worth going to this place - I didn't have to worry at all about the office being set up right, or whether or not the furniture had any shipping damage - I just walked into my new, organised, comfortable, and cutting edge office space - ready to handle my clients. Huge relief. Definitely recommending Furniture + to everyone.

I work a lot at my desk and a couple of years ago I talked with one of FPD's employees, Matt, about preventing carpal tunnel, he suggested a particular keyboard tray and I purchased it and it has been great. Just a couple of months ago I went into the showroom to look at one of those desks that you can raise up and lower so that I could stand while working. I saw Matt again and he showed me the different makes and models and how they work. I also told him that I wanted dual monitors and he gave me several suggestions on what to look for when I'm out shopping for a new set up. I ordered the Humanscale desk top version and purchased my new computer and monitors and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new set up!Actually, there was one glitch that I had with my new Humanscale stand and I called Matt to ask him about it, he told me what to adjust and how to do it and my hubby adjusted it and it was fine. Matt even called me back to make sure that we were able to adjust our stand and said to call him if there was anything else I needed. I am very happy that I can stand at my desk and encourage anyone who sits for a long time at their desk to buy one of the stand up desks from Furniture Plus Design, you're body, and mind, will thank you for it!

I just wandered in off the street to try a few office chairs and got an amazing welcome from sales administrator Luke. He did a great job explaining the various features of the upscale office chairs and ergonomic tables including standing desks etc. Really top notch sales--- thorough and engaging but not obnoxious in any way. The kind of sales that makes you feel OK about spending a little more locally to get better quality and service than if you order online. Well done.

I just bought a stand up desk from Furniture Plus Design and they have extremely good customer service. They genuinely want to fit the desk to you. I worked with Matt and Nick and they delivered on what they said they were going to do. The desk fits well and they have lot of other furniture that will match and expand upon the desk should I ever want. They definitely have a leg up over buying online, because they have a showroom where you can get fitted and design your office.

I have used the designers at this company several times over the past 7 years for helping me to remodel my office space. The designs were creative, professional and provided in a very timely manner. I have used their advice on how to arrange my furniture and am very satisfied with their service. I have also purchased equipment from them to help my office space be more ergonomically correct.

The first person I encountered on entering the store was rude. Not just rude in a "I'm busy unpacking a chair right here in front of the only entrance to the store" way (instead of, oh I dunno, anywhere else in the giant showroom), but in a "I'm clearly so busy doing this that YOU'RE rude for coming in and interrupting me" sort of way. Then he took it to further by making a disgusting face and acting like he'd never heard of the chair I was looking for. You know, the chair made by one of the leading business furniture brands, a brand that I'd spent over $1 million on when moving into an office space a few years back. So it's not like I was asking for something out of the Botswana Furniture Association catalog. This is an industry standard brand and the chair is a popular one.I was passed off to someone else who clearly wasn't as busy as Mr. Unpacker and she was helpful, showing me about a dozen other chairs in the store. Unfortunately, they all seemed cheap (despite their $700+ price tags) and weren't even close to the chair I intended to purchase.The review in my head went from a two star to a one star as I exited the store, only to have Mr. Unpacker actually force me to move out of his way as he lugged the freshly unpacked chair from the doorway entrance (where everyone unpacks stuff) to some fake cubicle display. He didn't move to the side, or wait for me to pass. He would have either hit me with the chair or run me over had I not stepped away.Which makes me think about forming a White House petition to have Yelp institute at long last the Zero Star review.

Very disappointed. After providing my office measurements to the designer, I then spent the next 3 weeks waiting for a promised first draft of the office design. I called 3 times, and was told each time, "I'm working on it now; I'll have it to you this evening." The fourth time I called, I was hung up on. It's not a difficult project; only 2 desks. I have given up on getting any kind of customer service from this store. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
