Don't let the "Texas" in the name fool you this is delicious authentic Japanese fare. I've actually been here numerous times for Lunch, Dinner and Midnight meals and it was delicious. They are open from 7am till 3am (closed from 2p-5p) They have 4 different menus and they are all different and unique. Unfortunately if you want a specific item you have to order it during the time that its available. I have older aunties that come for breakfast and love the miso butterfish and pork and tofu miso set. For lunch they have excellent tonkatsu sets and katsu curry and udon. Dinner is so popular with Kushi Katsu and other items and the midnight menu beats Zippys hands down for late night munchies! They have a delicious Surf and Turf bowl with ahi poke and beef tataki and my favorite after a night of drinking is their curry udon and beef miso udon. My favorite kushi katsu items are the scallops, prime chuck and onions but everything is delicious. The cooks and owners are from japan and most of the servers are bilingual. If you have japanese guests in town or out of town guests this is a great place to take them. They have fried twinkies that's not on the menu but delicious with a scoop of ice cream (trust me)The servers are friendly and efficient but understand this is not fast food it may take a little while to come but it's delicious! Our server Brayden did a great job of explaining menu items to me and made great recommendations.I recommend reservations for large parties or peak times like weekends. They have a pretty extensive alcohol menu including sake and soju, I saw a table ordering a huge Beer tower. It's a cool vibe perfect for any meal time have fun!

It's not too often I'm hungry at breakfast and think to myself, let's go to Fujiyama. A few days ago, we decided to try their Japanese breakfast.Miso Butterfish: 7/10. Taste, portion, and sides I would honestly give an 8 or 9. My specific piece hard at least 15 bones though. I didn't mind the first few but it started to get old after the 8th and above.Miso Salmon: (Guests score) 9/10. It had a nice miso flavor and did not require any salt or shoyu. The portion was also quite good for the price and really enjoyable. It was a nice change of pace to come here for breakfast and while they do not have kushikatsu options, their Japanese style breakfast options are still good!

Authentic Japanese Kushikatsu restaurant in Hawaii. Cooked by a Japanese chef. We called last minute for a table but they let us in and let us wait in bar counter till the table is ready. We were party of 4 and we ate so much! Everything was great! The waiter spoke Japanese so we ordered in Japanese. Very nice atmosphere. Will go back for sure.

Fujiyama is my favorite izakaya and the food here hits the spot any time of the day or night. So good! Service is friendly. Interior restaurant is tight. You might have to wait but you will always be welcome! I recommend the Agadashi Tofu, Mochi Dashi Soup, beef tataki, Korean salad, and smashed cucumbers.

Located on King Street, Fujiyama Texas is a Japanese restaurant popularly known for their katsu. I have heard good things about their breakfast but ended up going for lunch, which turned out well. There is some parking in the front and the restaurant itself is on the smaller side but has a warm and comfortable ambiance. We went with a larger group and the service was pretty quick. I ended up getting the pork loin katsu, which was tasty. We were expecting a solid katsu option and we got it here. Next time, we're hoping to try the breakfast.

Went for an end of the year breakfast at 8:30 with friends. Loved how we sailed into the parking lot, grabbed a table, and were able to get a Japanese breakfast at reasonable prices! I mean where else can you get a piece of butterfish, bowl of fluffy rice, miso soup, two slices of tamagoyaki, gobo, and cucumber tsukemmono for only $15? My friends both got that while I got the tonjiru , a bowl of pork, onions and tofu cooked until it's very soft. By the time we were done there was a short line forming. The only thing I wish they didn't have is MSG in the food. I felt thirsty and dry afterwards. Otherwise a nice meal.

Sunday morning breakfast. And the combo meals are comfort food to the max.I chose the pork and tofu stew. Sides of white rice, some pickled vegetables, tamago style rolled egg and three cubes of cucumber. Plenty big. Priced at an unbelievable $16.The stew is ultra hearty. The thick liquid is so much more than a broth. I'm sure that the pork bones to make it were boiled for a day or two. Soul satisfying. The port is shredded. There's lots of stewed sweet onions. Big hunk of soft texture tofu.Yes, an unconventional breakfast especially for Anglos. But, wow you must eat the food here. Highly recommended if you are suffering a hangover because you partied a little too enthusiastically last night.Owner and staff are the nicest people. Dining room is a well lived in room. Not quite a dive, a step above that.Come, eat & enjoy.

A Japanese restaurant with Texas in its name. Fujiyama Texas is more noted for their after work, late night kushikatsu and drinking. A place to enjoy with friends after a long day at the office. The Izakaya. So earlier this year I discovered they have a following for their breakfast offerings too. I have been there several times and have enjoyed their selections every time. Every breakfast set comes with side dishes- rice, miso soup, pickled cucumber, rolled omlet and kimpira gobo. Some favorites include: 1) The pork & tofu tonjiru soup. You can get this as a meal or as a soup upgrade from the usual miso soup with other meals. It's a nice hearty bowl as a meal and would be great on a frosty morning or warmed up for dinner.2) simmer pork (Kakuni) set- deceptively simple braised pork belly dish that is flavorful and delicious. More filling than you might think. I really like this dish. 3) yaki-musubi set. Grilled rice balls with the sude dishes and miso soup. Simple dish, good hangover breakfast? Hey, no need be drunk to enjoy. They serve other breakfast sets and also udon sets for breakfast too. Other Japanese restaurants serve breakfasts too but none really compare to Fujiyama Texas' offerings.

Nothing much Texas here...First of all I felt the vibe and asked mom let's go out to eat what you craving...Yuzu Ramen. Knowing also that she don't eat much I didn't want to go to our usual favorite place to k my have her eat half and remembered that they have it here as well.I've tried their udon at the Mo'ili'ili Summer Fest so know that what they make is yummy and after going through their menu we ordered a few items Braised Burdock Root (Gobo) which she also have been craving apparently which was so delicious that came with carrots and lotus root as well and was given a genius portion that really made her happy. Jalapeño Poppers for me which was fresh jalapeños so the heat was definitely there but the cream cheese did balance well but another generous portion of two peppers cut in half. Two orders of Kushi Katsu Oysters as she loves oysters which she says was good but felt it was too small for the price in her opinion but was fried up fresh and and remained hot for quite awhile while we grazed on some of the other items, and our entrees was Yuzu Garlic Ramen for her and Yakisoba for me and as I don't do over easy egg I asked if it could be scrambled which they kindly did and put it on the side but the sauce was so salty I had a difficult time finishing and couldn't while her ramen was nice and refreshing the yuzu broth was so light and spot on I was really impressed and at $12 for this decent sized slightly smaller than the standard bowl was a great deal. These are for dinner and I noticed how each different time of day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Midnight Dinner) some of the menu options and prices do vary which is quite disappointing which though my experience here was good the vibe here isn't quite like the Japanese izakaya as the staff was literally silent and not the usually enthusiastic greet and while ordered just a few items asking for any type of change felt like it was insulting but I do love the decor but wished they had something else on the single tv besides the surf channel as it didn't feel like it matched the restaurant vibe but know that the food was delicious and will be back to try some other items.Thank you!

This place always intrigued me because of its name... Fujiyama Texas Hawaii Kushi-Katsu. What's with the Texas? It didn't matter once we got the food. Everything was very good. As usual, we ordered way too much - sashimi, potato salad, lots of sticks of kushi-katsu. The portions were very generous. The potato salad was a meal in itself (and delicious.)We found parking right in front of the restaurant and service was quick. Glad we finally got to try this place (we tried several times but couldn't get reservations.) We'll be back, but know better to pace our ordering!
