I was going to start this off by saying "wow, I wish they were in town" but they apparently have a food truck in town!!If I lived out on this side, I'd frequent this place.Service was great. They had seating for about 16 inside (4 tables) and were very accommodating and friendly. Our group got a mix of tacos and wet burritos and they were all so delicious. I will be back!

This place is cozy. I got the classic burrito. 4/5, Mexican rice was on point, pico was fresh, meat was flavorful. They also give you a green salsa to add on-top although i didnt see it until i finished my burrito. On its own its delicious though with spice! Down side of the burrito is it wasnt evenly packed, and the cheese was just colby jack. The drink i got was agua fresca (jamaica) which is hibiscus. It tasted more like juice than water and had a slightly unpleasant earthy after taste but the forward flavor profile was good. This is the first time ive had this kind of agua fresca before so this could be the normal flavor i dont know, overall i would rate the drink 3/5.They also sell a lot of Mexican candies!Overall i would rate the food 4/5-4.5/5. Would recommend!

Mexican cuisine for lunch in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii...I wasn't sure if Frida was open. I pulled on the door, and it opened up into a colorful, festive environment with welcoming, cheerful service!Rozzelle was at the cash register, but she came to my table several times to check on me. She was very thoughtful as she brought me a fork for my shrimp taco, which spilled out onto the plate because the toppings were generous! When I ordered at the counter, I was looking for horchata. Rozzelle pointed to the blackboard where it was written... yay! The horchata was rich and cinnamon sweet... not watered down like other places! The shrimp taco had one flour tortilla, veggies, and grilled shrimp. The smokey flavor was much appreciated because there was no spicy sauce covering up the sweet, firm, fresh shrimp! Yummy! The desserts looked so good that I had to get the Berry cheesecake... Too bad they were out of flan. I would return for that!I looked at the reasonably priced merchandise and almost got a pair of earrings for $3! Instead, I got some cute Frida coin purses. The aprons and towels were tempting, too. This is a great little restaurant! I appreciate the free shared parking lot and complimentary chips and (spicy) salsa! Rozzelle gave me the key to the restroom and walked with me outside, then pointed across to the next building where the restroom was. Thank you!Note: Frida Kahlo is a famous painter from Mexico. I first learned about her when some LA Yelpers and I flew from Los Angeles to Mexico City and visited Frida's home, which is now a museum.

Really good food. I'm not a cilantro fan but the way they blend it makes it SO FRIGGEN DELICIOUS . Kind of small and homey feeling. But the food is the best. I'm so surprised.

The barria tacos are so good that I have random cravings that have me getting them in the middle of the night. They are so meaty and delicious. I love the cilantro in the consommé. They also have an Oreo cheesecake that is to die for!

The food is good but not as good as I remember. Portions are good for the price. You cam get fries with the kids meal and they are delish! The hidden gem here is the horchata. Probably one of the best I've had on the island. It's smooth, flavorful and not gritty. Service is meh. Employees wernt that friendly but they were not rude either.

If you're on the hunt for authentic and delicious Mexican food, look no further than Frida's Taqueria! This charming hole-in-the-wall spot is an absolute treasure trove of flavors and an experience you won't want to miss.We indulged in an abundance of their street tacos, trying a variety of flavors including lengua, carne asada, fish taco, pica dillo, and chorizo. Each taco was a bite of perfection, bursting with authentic taste and perfectly seasoned meats. The combination of fresh ingredients and expertly crafted recipes made every taco a standout. For all my spice enthusiasts out there, you *must* try their habanero salsa! It packs an incredible punch and is loaded with flavor. It's the perfect addition to kick your meal up a notch and leave your taste buds dancing. Seriously, this salsa is a game-changer and a must-try for anyone who loves a good spicy kick. And let's talk about Nessa's Nachos - they were beyond amazing! These nachos come absolutely loaded with chorizo and steak, creating a flavor explosion in every bite. The generous toppings and crispy chips made for a dish that's both hearty and satisfying. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on these. The service at Frida's Taqueria was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving, which made our visit even more enjoyable.Overall, I can't recommend Frida's Taqueria enough! The food was easily a 100/10, and the service was a perfect 10/10. Whether you're a taco lover, a spice enthusiast, or just someone who appreciates great food, this place is for you. Do yourself a favor and pay a visit to Frida's Taqueria - your taste buds will thank you!

Came here for Cinco de Mayo and ordered the birria tacos. Being from Texas I have huge expectations when it comes to birria tacos. The customer service was friendly - I wasn't sure why I can get chips and salsa for free if I dine in but if I'm taking my food to go I have to pay for them. Ended up with a small bag of chips and an even smaller container of salsa but I won't lie, the salsa had good flavor. This is a small spot with limited seating so if you are taking your food to go you may find yourself standing outside while waiting for your food. Those birria tacos didn't have the rich flavor of the ones back home but they were sizable tacos and worked for the event.

Legit quaint taqueria with a cool Frida Kahlo (Mexican artist) vibe. It's nice to see more authentic Mexican food places sprouting up on Oahu. We tried their Asada, carnitas, and chicken tacos and they were all very good. I judge Mexican restaurants by how good their asada is, and this place has very good asada. Not chewy, not dry, and full of flavor. I would give this place 5 stars but parking is scarce, and there are only 4 tables inside to eat at. Service was outstanding.
