Formerly Green Tree Cafe. Located on Ford Island, access is limited to military and personnel working on base. The exact location is the former Green Tree Cafe in the NOAA building. They kept pretty much the same layout. Instead of ordering or grabbing your food and then paying the cashier, here you pay right away. And instead of using food trays when dining in, you get a bag to take to the tables if you decide to eat in. The food in my opinion is taster and more up scale. My favorite so far is the red wine short ribs. There are daily specials and regular dishes. You can also order online for pickup or just visit the sandwich grab and go section. They still have the soup and salad bar. Overall five stars. There's a tasty and healthy selection of dishes you can choose from. Prices are reasonable and if you decided to dine in there's still plenty of seating with a great view. M

Ya know given it's a cafeteria in the NOAA building on base, the food was actually pretty good and the prices were very reasonable! (Darn it for checking in on Yelp too late because they got 10% off!) They have a full menu here, not just sandwiches and wraps! We ordered a loco moco, a burger and some pancakes with eggs and bacon. Yeah I know we're really eating our lunch here lol. Their beef patty had food flavor and the egg was fresh. The gravy was pretty good too. Even though it's hard to beat liliha's loco moco, I'd say this was pretty good and I ate the whole thing! The salad was fresh too. My husband enjoyed the burger, and the kid ate the pancakes. I wish their bacon was fried for a bit longer as it wasn't crispy. The staff were friendly too. Also the seating area was spacious and well-lit with plenty of chairs at long tables. Don't hesitate to try the the food here if you're hungry and don't know where to go!

I was on Ford Island on Friday and saw the sign for Ford Island Bistro, had no idea they were back up. Located in the amazing looking NOAA HQ building is a great little cafe that serves amazing food and they service is absolutely awesome. It is either grab and go or you can sit and eat in the dinning area. The dinning area if very big with lots of table and amazing views of the harbor and Ford Island.Of course you need to have government ID to get on Ford Island and as well as enter the NOAA HQ building but if you can get in, definitely check it out. I had the grass-fed burgers from Big Island and I was not disappointed. I passed on the fries as I wasn't very hunger and only came for the burger. I'll be back on another Friday for Filipino Friday, the menu looked really good and I hardly ever pass on Filipino food. The have lots healthy options and salads as well.Great place and I will be back with my friends. Go check it out!

If you are lucky enough to access Ford Island you should visit the huge, shiny NOAA Pacific HQ and eat at the Ford Island Bistro. It has "grab-and-go" salads, fruit cups, and drinks but also a grill and regular entree items. Don't forget the breakfast served all day!I had the fried chicken sandwich..,instead of a neat little "formed" patty that stays in the bun, this was a huge, chunky breast piece that engulfed the bun. There were pickles and sauce also. For $3 extra you can get crispy, delicious french fries & another $2 for a limited selection of canned drinks or bottled water. Although the previous vendor's drink fountain is still there, they aren't offering it as a choice. The chicken was crispy outside, and who did you see inside although at the thickest part of the chicken didn't feel a little dry. The sauce helped a lot, it was very creamy and good, and the pickles added a nice touch without overpowering the sandwich.I'll be back to try some of the other stuff, including hot entrées, or a breakfast for lunch one day!

I definitely recommend this hidden gem! Food was delicious!! Friendly service. Reasonably priced meals. Ordered a gyro that had a generous portion of meat. Way better than kiosk type Greek offerings.

Low quality food, I've ordered the tofu stir fry 3 times to be sure to give them a chance, and it was bland every time. I still liked the place to occasionally grab coffee, but their prices for a 12 oz black coffee went from $1.80 to $3.80! are you kidding me? This is more expensive than Starbucks at about 20% of the quality. I'm never giving them my money again.
