First off parking sucks but that's not the restaurants fault !This was alot of peoples fave late night spot , they are no longer open to 2 am, most places close by 9-10 pm these days. Prob top 3 Chinese Hk / canto style restaurants on Oahu! Most come here for their lobster special. Roast duck is always solid ! And most of their deep fried items are on point!

Went here for some dinner on New Year's day. We arrived at 5 pm when they opened and they seated us without a reservation. It had an old, hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant feel, and all of the waitstaff wore masks making them difficult to hear in a rather loud restaurant. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, the Capital tangy pork, seafood fried rice and sizzling black pepper beef. The Capital tangy pork was by far the best dish. It tasted similar to sweet and sour pork, but was a little bit sweeter. The walnut shrimp and seafood fried rice were decent as well. The black pepper beef paired well with some extra bowls of rice that we ordered for sharing. My biggest detractors from this restaurant were the waiter, who was wearing a mask, which made him extremely hard to understand, and that the food came out one at a time, so by the time some of the other dishes arrived, we had almost finished some.I also saw a cockroach crawling up the side of the bar from across the room, so they may want to invest in a better pest control strategy.

First lunch after we landed in Honolulu late last night. We are hungry so forgot to take pics!Since they are famous for cheap lobster therefore every table orders them. Years ago before Covid, their lobster was $14 but you also have to order one regular prized dish from the menu. Now it's $24, the critters are all about 1-11/4 lb ones not canners though. Nicely done, fresh from tank.Salt&pepper pork chops tasty done Americano style, not refined at allBeef chow fun not too greasy.Great value for price paid, an old style Americanized Chinese eatery.

A friend of mine that lives in Honolulu recommended this place for their crab. I was so excited to come. I arrived early waiting for the rest of my party. As I was waiting, I notice the fresh lobster tank in the front of the restaurant had nothing but dead lobster. I thought it was odd. Then a gentlemen came out with another man, they were speaking Chinese and then the one man switched to English. He said the water in the tank up front and in the back of the kitchen was too warm. That was shocking for me to hear. When you want to order something, you need to flag down a waiter. They are servicing customers and rushing around. I saw another guest yell and wave for a waiter. I waved a waiter over. The service is very fast and they are quick to take plates away and refill your water.Appetizer: I ordered springrolls as I waited for my party to arrive. They arrived and they were temperature hot and generous size and very crispy. They tasted okay, but the filling was very thin and there wasn't really any flavor. I tried the dipping sauce but it tasted like ketchup diluted with a bit of sugar.Main: I was scared to order seafood after overhearing about the tank water was too warm. We ordered the pepper beef and fried rice to eat alongside the beef. The fried rice was decent, but it had raw slices of iceberg lettuce which I caught was odd, but it did provide crunch. The beef was tender, flavorful, and well seasoned.I was staying on the Waikiki beach area and this was an Uber ride to get to this restaurant. I don't think this place is worth the Uber.

Came for a very early dinner mid week. At 5:30 we were the only table but by the time we left this place was choke people by 6:30. The set meals are great way to go especially with two people. Our set B started with a delicious white seafood soup and fried prawns, Sizzling beef with onions came next with some nice steamed seafood with broccoli. Fried Rice was super flavorful and packed with various ingredients. Couldn't help but to feel like Hong Kong with the smartly dressed waiters, very old school.

Fook Yuen is a great spot for family gatherings and the food is always a hit. However, one area where they could improve is their service. We've noticed that it could use a little bit of a boost.Despite this, Fook Yuen remains a top choice for our family parties thanks to its delicious food and good atmosphere. So, if you're looking for a place to celebrate with your loved ones Fook Yuen is definitely worth checking out.

An oldie but a goodie. Fook Yuen has been a staple in McCully Shopping Center for as long as I can remember, and it's still extremely busy-- a good sign. This restaurant is the perfect dinner spot for a giant family dinner. It's pretty loud and raucous inside, as everyone is having a great time with good food and belly laughs. And the bigger your group, the more you can order and try off their menu. We love the salt 'n pepper or black bean lobster, hot 'n sour soup, honey walnut shrimp, ong choy, sweet and sour pork, house friend rice, salt 'n pepper squid, and more. Even if you go during busy dinner hours, I would say they turn tables pretty fast and it would be worth the wait. The service is also very efficient and you won't be left waiting for long for much of anything. I highly recommend Fook Yoen for a casual family dinner.

Food was great and our server was friendly and entertaining. Got there about 6:30pm, the place was crowded and noisy like a typical good Chinese restaurant. On the down side, the parking is terrible. The stalls are tight and the lot is very busy. I suggest going earlier like 5pm.
