Didn't have much time to spend at the Eat the street event, so when I saw a couple eating it and asked how it was, they said it was good, so I picked up the combo rib and chicken. However, I was expecting something more flavorful or melt in your mouth ribs since the person said it was good:Five-0 ribs - 3 1/2- 4 stars - For $10, the ribs were tasty, but a little under cooked and chewy. It was average., but my son liked it a lot.Chicken - 3 stars - a whole leg served with the ribs, but was pink and a bit under cooked. It was a bit chewy also, and I was worried that it wasn't cooked too well either, but I survived.Service - 3 stars - average service. They offered a free drink with the malama card.

tried them at Eat The Street Japan, March 2012... NICE! the ribs were tender, not dry, and the sauce was good too. it is a little on the sweeter side, so if you don't like sweet sauced ribs, you might not like it... but for me, i thought the ribs were good! the ribs plate came with 2 generous large pieces of ribs, 2 scoops rice, and a side green salad = $10. they also had a chicken plate, tri-tip plate, sliders and combo plates. i don't think they have a current location yet, so you might only be able to find them at Eat The Street events....

Wanted to try Five-O Ribs ever since the Dec '11 ETS, when I got to their truck too late to sample the ribs. Got my opportunity during the Mar '12 ETS. Five-O was one of the few food trucks to have mini-plates, so I tried their one beef rib/rice/green salad. Ribs were pretty darn good- nice smoke ring, lots of meat, tasty, good bark, not overly sauced. Can't wait to try some of their other offerings! A new fave!

The first food truck that caught my attention at the New Year's Eve 2012 End of the Year Party. Circled a few times with my brother to see what else there was.I ended up coming later that evening and got ribs. There wasn't a line though it took the cashier a while before she took my order. The food came out as quickly as I ordered. So you pretty much only have a say on the meat you want on your plate.Rice, salad, and ribs.Square... the shape of my ribs... O___O Since it was dark it was difficult figuring out where the bone was with my plastic fork and knife. I got through it though, but as I ate all I could think about was Tony Roma's ribs.

Got their ribs plate while they were at a food truck event at Waialua High School. Sadly, it was very disappointing. The ribs seemed undercooked and tough/chewy. I prefer fork tender, fall-off-the-bone kind of rib meat with lots of smoky bbq flavor, which it also lacked. The rice was so dry and hard that I barely touched it.

I just had their ribs at the waikiki street event for xmas. As excited as I was to get a nice rack of ribs after I had read some reviews I got the full rack and it looked yummy. However when I went to bite in I found that they had been undercooked and had a LOT of pull to them. I continued on to the next piece hoping it had a better cook time and was disappointed. I only ate half at the time and took the rest home to try and salvage myself. Either the meat was of very poor quality or the cook time wasn't enough to tendorize them to be easy enough to eat.

I'm from Boston, these are wicked awesome ribs!! The best I've ever had..had to go back for a second round! Didn't know they were closing part of Kalakaua today for a street festival. Glad I waited until I got to the Five-O rib truck. Two thumbs up.

We had a plate from your truck at the 50th state fair and let me say it was the worst. The rice was super hard or it could be old rice. It was where you can't even eat it because it was gross. The short ribs I had on my plate 1 was small with little meat and the second was all fat! Which was even grosser! They only meat on that one was around the bone! So for the cost of 23 scripts ($11.50) it is not worth it What. So. Ever! Wouldn't go back.

Had the beef brisket plate at the Night Market in Kakaako, and I have to say it was Awful! The cut of the meat was wrong, the portion size was pitiful, there was was no flavor to the beef, and was smothered in a basic sauce. Oh and of the small portion, way too much of it was fat, and not the tasty gristle either. Maybe I caught them on an off night but for $12 I expect FAR more.
