Fighting Eel - Kapolei Commons

First Time, But Definitely Not the Last!I had my very first visit here, and what a memorable one it was!I flew all the way to Alaska to surprise my friend's sister for her 30th birthday celebration at Veranda at the Beachhouse--an elegant afternoon tea with a Muʻumuʻu and aloha attire theme. Naturally, my friend wanted to find the perfect muʻumuʻu to wear, both for the event and beyond.At first, we planned to check out Ala Moana for Hilo Hattie's, but after some quick online searching, she discovered Fighting Eel--a name that instantly rang a bell for me! I told her that my co-workers raved about this place, and that was all the convincing we needed.Before my friend flew back home, she called Fighting Eel to check if they had a specific muʻumuʻu in stock--and they did! They also confirmed they had dressing rooms, so we were all set for a shopping trip.When we arrived, we were greeted by the sweetest associate who truly went above and beyond. She made sure everything fit just right, even bringing out another muʻumuʻu for my friend to try--which ended up being an even better fit! Talk about great instincts!To top it all off, she steamed the muʻumuʻu before we left, making it perfectly ready to wear. Such a thoughtful touch! As we were checking out, the associate (I wish I remembered her name--she was wonderful!) mentioned a special Chinese New Year gift with purchase. It was the cutest necklace tucked inside a festive lai see--such a fun surprise!But the real shocker? As my friend and I were chatting with her, we realized we all shared the Year of the Snake--same birth year and everything! What are the odds?! It was such a fun and unexpected moment that made our shopping experience even more memorable. Thoughtful service, a perfect muʻumuʻu, and a surprise connection--Fighting Eel knows how to make customers feel special!

I came to this location because my coworker said that she loves the staff and how friendly they are. They also have a decent sized store with lots of product. I made the trek out to Kapolei on a weekday. Thank goodness for winter break! They are located next to target. The shopping center itself is bustling with lots of new shops. There's ample parking right in front.When I entered, the store was clean and organized. I was greeted right away. I picked a few items to try on. I ended up getting the last overalls in the blue fish. I was super lucky because it's sold out online and not in any other store. I will definitely make the trek out here again.

I love coming to this location. The girls here are ALWAYS so friendly and the AWESOME customer service is consistent with all of the employees. You can tell that they are happy to be at work and love it.The store isn't very big but a decent size which holds a lot of their merchandise. The sizes go quickly especially after new items come out, so keep in mind that if you need a certain size, you should go in or order on-line right away.The merchandise are boutique prices which is understandable. I love that the quality of the material and fabrics they use are good and worth the money.Great location, awesome service, and great merchandise with cute prints and styles. I will definitely return to this location.

Fighting Eel is known for their local inspired prints on everything from clothing, bedding, bags, and I have personally had my eyes on their beach chair for a long time! There are a few Fighting Eel stores on the island but this is one of the most convenient locations. I believe it's one of their newer locations as well- tons of parking, great layout, and comfortable changing rooms. Since this is a local brand some of their items are on a limited run. If you're looking for a size that isn't on the racks, they can check other stores but if it's a popular print/ item you may be out of luck. That seems to be me with everything that catches my eye :( The last thing I picked up was this amazingly soft extra large blanket! It's reversible with two super cute floral prints. If you would have asked me about fighting eel 10 years ago, I would have been excited to tell you all about how much I loved the styles and prints. Now that I'm getting close to my mid thirties, the short dress styles are a little too short for me to wear to work and I'm not as excited about the prints as I was before. Maybe I'm just getting old. I saw on IG that this kapolei location opened and even though I found myself in the area a few times with one of my friends who used to shop pretty exclusively at FE, we both opted to walk around target instead of going to FE. Today I went in looking for something specific I saw at the Kailua location. They didn't have the item I was looking for and I didn't have time to ask about it at other locations because I know they only hold items for like a day. Speaking of policies, they used to have a stamp card system a long time ago. Then they went to a computerized points system. Now they're back to the stamps. I wonder if they'll accept stamps from 10 years ago lol. The loyalty program isn't very exciting anyway..., you have to spend hundreds (maybe $1000) of dollars here before you can get $10 off. I never was able to use any points when they had the computerized system.It seems like Fighting Eel is trying new things with lunchboxes, beach chairs and stationary. It's cute, but so pricey.

This was introduced to me by my neighbor and I decided to check it out. Apparently I went on a day when a new collection dropped because the store was packed and the lines were super long for both the waiting room and check out. All the employees were super friendly and the clothes all looked fun and color and full of aloha. Unfortunately because it was so busy, I couldn't find anything in my size and everything is also a bit pricey as well. Definitely would be a cute fit for the islands but not sure how much wear I would get in the mainlands.

Located near Petco/Ross side of Commons. Which is so perfect, because it's away from the craziness of the Target area parking lot. LolAlmost all the employees here are extremely welcoming, it's different from the town/Kailua locations. In a good way! When I first started shopping here. I would only shop for my daughter. Their bamboo onesies are amazing for her sensitive skin, and the prints are super cute! But one day I popped in for a last min outfit for a wedding we were attending. And I instantly fell in love. The store manager Leisha (I Believe) was there that day. And she made the shopping experience truly so special for me. I tried on so many styles/prints and she took the time to ask how I liked them. And made a few suggestions. They are on the higher side as far as pricing for clothing, but honestly I know and love the fit! So why not?! The prints are the cutest, and if you're keeping up on socials with them. You might catch one of their sales. 1000/10 recommended

FINALLY a Fighting Eel in the Westside in Kapolei!! I'm definitely a fan of FE, and this location and staff make it even better! The girls here are so nice , friendly and helpful. I'm greeted every time I come to visit...almost welcoming me like a friend coming over to their house. Thanks...truly appreciate the awesome staff!! Love the quality of clothing, accessories and home items. Although it is on the pricier side, wearing it makes me happy. Even better when you see other FE fans or even strangers who love the prints/styles. Keep up the great work, and once again, thanks Lan and my Fighting Eel gang on the WESTSIDE!! If you haven't visited the Kapolei location, take a drive out, and you won't be disappointed.

Located in the Kapolei Commons outdoor mall next to Office Depot is a welcome addition to the locally owned companies. Large selection of stylish prints for your whole Ohana. You can also find the awesome covered chairs, matching umbrellas and backpacks. The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable, the service is great.

I will shop at this location any day. And to tell you the truth this is the furthest from my home. Customer service FriendlyI enjoy the service I received. I knew what I was getting which made the trip much quicker. The Kahala store employees need to learn from these employees because they lack all of the above!
