Fatboys

If you have the local plate lunch craving and planning to be out passing thru the Hawaii Kai area, this should be a must stop for you. They have a set menu but also offer daily specials. Clean and spacious, with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking in the shopping center.I ordered the garlic chicken plate and was pleased. Totally LOVE their Mac salad. We also tried their Lechon Kawali, which was their daily special, and that was delish as well. Ooh and the garlic fries was garlicky and yummy.Service was good n quick and food came out with very little wait. I'll definitely return should the craving kicks in.

What happened to this Fatboys take out food. The food was not so great looks like precooked pork chops and chicken katsu with almost cold gravy. Be aware when you order online from the grub cause it doesn't match prices at the counter receipt. The counter receipt is cheaper than Grub online which Grub has many optional selections on side orders. The person I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant and he said they're in the process of ironing out some of the ordering issues. I was told Grub will make the necessary changes to my order.

It has been years since I last visited Fatboys, I forgot the reason why I didn't visit again- getting old, & the memory is too! Lunch time at work and I usually pack my salads for lunch but during the last week of December of 2024, I was eating so bad during the holidays, I've decided to start eating healthy when the new year starts, so that being said, I went ahead and ordered me a 2 plate combo, and my co-worker kindly picked up our lunch. Glancing at the on-line menu, it was hard to decide as everything sounds great and Fatboys had an extensive menu. My co-worker's favorite is the pork chop, which sounds good but I already had the same thing the night before. I opt for the 2 item combo ($18.) Chicken cutlet and shrimp, got rice and tots as my sides. Not healthy choices, so good but so bad for you! The plate was packed, after making myself a plate, I had leftovers which my son finished later. This plate can sure feed 2. Taking a bite of my chicken cutlet, fried shrimp and tater tots, I have to say WOW! Omg, I loved every bite, first time I seen them the tots round, it was super tasty and crisp! I never had tots that good before. My plate of food was so yummy! Fatboys has been around for years at Koko Marina, tucked in a corner next to Subway, it's a small spot. Now I cannot wait til next holiday to have another plate, Never-mind Lets grind again during my next cheat meal, I am going to be back for more!

We were looking for a new place to eat and we stumbled upon this place. It was lunch time and it was crowded so we decided to try. TIP: The menu right in front we believe is take out price, so don't get confused like us lol. Bless our server, she was working by herself that day :) We got Garlic Chicken, Chicken Katsu, and Fish and Chips. The fish was so ono and the chickens were so crispy! The garlic chicken sauce was so delicious! A pretty good plate lunch type place. Will go again on a special occasion :)

Friendly service, good local food at a great price, nice atmosphere; short and sweet worth a stop.

Sorry but not impressed at all and you can get much better tasting food and portion sizes around the corner at loco moco or down the street at L&L, (regular plates are large enough to feed two people). Please take a look at the mini garlic chicken vs the regular garlic chicken mini has twice the amount of mac salad and the regular potion had maybe 2 pieces of chicken (just might look stacked because they moved the chicken over to fit the rice) more than the mini and an extra scoop of rice. All of the mini plates seems to have had double the size of the mac salad than the regular plate. The regular chicken cutlet toss salad had no dressing luckily we brought it home so we had dressing at home to use, the chicken Katsu was overcooked dry and chewy and the brown gravy had no flavor, had to add ketchup to give it some flavor. Get the garlic chicken instead of the katsu at least the garlic sauce is decent.Tip: Save your money and order the mini size.

Fatboys was out of poke when we went, which is really what I felt like, but they won me most of the way back with their furikake-encrusted grilled salmon. Now, when they say encrusted, they MEAN encrusted. The fish is enveloped. They use furikake like I use furikake on toast at home. Going through canisters like mad.And underneath the furikake is a just perfectly, one-millimeter-past-rare, cooked cut of fish. It did not need the sriracha aioli it came with, but I did use it for my crispy, hot crinkle-cut fries.My companion's ahi tuna felt overcooked to me, but he pronounced it good and finished it completely, including the macaroni salad, which he didn't save me even one bite of, so what do I know? I know my sriracha aioli was better than his honey mustard sauce...

Finally got around to trying out Fatboys in hawaii kai. It's really nice and very clean. We got lucky arriving just after 5pm, we were the first ones in and had the place to ourselves for a little while. Very roomy, enough space for our stroller. The beef stew was delicious and great for this weather, the garlic chicken was also really good. Can't wait to try other items off the menu.

Got the Fat Boy bento today. Was very good and well worth it for $14. Lady at the counter very friendly.

Fatboys is my absolute favorite!Best shrimp on the whole island!! Way better than Giovanni's!
