The staff is incredible! My brother and I were visiting over a long extended stay and kept coming back to stay with them. They made us feel right we home and were gracious enough to watch our bags when we needed assistance. Thanks, Ewa team!

Great spot! Stayed here many times during my stay in Honolulu. Was going with the flow on the trip and this cozy spot was a perfect landing spot. A block from the beach, and super friendly staff. I'd definitely stay again!

My friends and I had a good experience during our 1-week stay at Ewa Hotel Waikiki. For an affordable price, it provides a great location that was walkable to the many shops in the heart of Waikiki, as well as to the beach. It also felt quite safe. When exiting the hotel, there is a one-way street lined with food trucks seeking hot dogs, Korean food, Thai food, empanadas, and more. There seems to be parking usually available, but we stayed during the week leading up to Christmas and they had a sign at the front desk saying that parking was full. The lobby is small but was decorated with a fun Christmas vibe during our time there. There is only one elevator, and there is a rooftop area with seating and a nice view. The staff was very friendly. Room service was once during the week. The rooms are generally pretty clean, though there are small bugs, mostly ants, that crawl on the walls and tables sometimes. Also, laundry is closed at 8pm and requires quarters. We noticed that our king beds were actually 2 twin beds put together, but we actually liked that setup. Overall, we were glad to choose Ewa Hotel Waikiki for our trip to O'ahu, as it provided a good value and we had a comfortable stay.

The Ewa Hotel, Waikiki- wow- is full of bugs, filth and should be closed for renovation and a full cleaning. I have stayed there over the last 10 years like 15 times. I stopped going there in 2019 because it was getting very dirty and I saw a couple bugs in a room I got out of quickly. But I thought I'd try again this October,2022. Wrong choice. Wow- I'm not sure how they can stay open especially since Covid is a factor since March 2020. My room was full of cockroaches crawling everywhere. I was told i would NOT receive a refund from 'Roy' as it was a week past the time I checked out that Hotwire called them. I left the hotel and got resort fees returned as they saw all the pictures of all the bugs that surrounded my room and the hotel- but lied to me telling me to get the refund for the entire room stay thru Hotwire; when Hotwire said I needed to get it thru them. So, lying is a factor to be able to keep travelers money for a filthy cockroach hotel. Not a good business practice. I will attach just a few photos. I hope that whoever reads this will NOT stay at this hotel when vacationing in Waikiki; it WILL ruin ur very expensive trip - like it did ours. Aloha~(The Waikiki Grand a block away is comparable price and VERY NICE)

If I could give them 0 stars I wouldThe room was musty and gross. It had two twin beds, no kitchenette and I could hear the children in the next room like they were in my own. I went back downstairs to ask for a room with one larger bed. I was told I had to pay an upgrade fee of $50 to get a bigger bed. I agreed and ask to see the room first. Waited for someone to come down to "show me the room" turns out it was just another room with 2 twin beds. I gave up. I have incredibly low standards. I chose to spend weeks at time in the woods and I lived in a Chevy for two years. I mean, unbelievably low, and this place stumbled over that ant hill as if it was an Olympic hurdle.

Do not stay at this hotel under any circumstances or for any reason. It would literally be better to sleep in your car. I am not exaggerating when I say that the moment I walked in the door to our room, I nearly burst into tears. The sheets are stained and yellowed, all the popcorn ceilings and old fashioned lighting make you feel like you're in the 1980s, and on top of that you can hear through the paper thin walls other guests, as well as the disgusting smelly hallways where people constantly slam their doors. We could not wait to get out of there, however the hotel did not even refund us, even though we only used one night out of the three that we booked.

The location is awesome. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is in need of a deep cleaning though. I would stay here again. The food trucks located n the alleyway type street have a hot dog truck and it is amazing. I highly recommend that food truck. This hotel is priced fairly and the location is close to a lot of different places to go and see and do.

4 Stars for being a great budget hotel- just understand that it IS a budget hotel. However, this is a solid budget hotel. Rooms are clean and staff is courteous. Stayed from July 8th to July 11th. I am mostly here to review and describe the parking situation, but I HAVE to commend the staff for being VERY COURTEOUS. I also have to commend the hotel for being pet friendly. Being an animal enthusiast, seeing dogs and cat, daily, added to the enjoyment of my stay. I had a good experience with the parking. Verify with hotel as my numbers may not be exact, but as best as I can gather, there are 20, generous-sized spaces of ground level parking as well as 3 or 4 street parking marked for Ewa Hotel. Otherwise, the Zoo parking lot is literally a 3-5 minute walk, but I can't tell you how much that is because I didn't have to use it (I was able to find on-property parking the whole stay).Parking was about $30 per night and you can get a pass for your entire stay, IF, available - VERIFY price with hotel. I was able to get an entire-stay parking pass when I checked in. On the second day, there was a sign that stated the parking passes were sold-out. This sign was NOT THERE by the 3rd and 4th day of my stay. I was out and about at all hours of the day and was always able to find on-property parking.TIP: I recommend calling the hotel to ask what happens if you buy in to an entire-stay pass and can't find on-property or reserved-street property. When I asked the front desk guy, he kinda blinked a couple time as if this was a highly unlikely situation then said a refund may be possible.

They have roaches everywhere. They don't compensate you. They don't price match. They do nothing to make you feel accommodated at this hotel but make sure that you have to check out exactly at 12 o'clock, which is very inconsiderate and unprofessional. They charge $300 a night they deposit every time you book.

Wow. This place is a DUMP. First off. It is a SRO. People live here. People who look almost homeless. I booked this for a birthday vacation. The photos online looked fine. Ignore those photos. They must have been taken 20 years ago. Or Photoshopped. This is an old hotel that has not been maintained. The first warning we were in trouble was the sign in the lobby "No Visitors After 10 p.m." You only see these signs in SROs and hotels where bad things happen. You will never see a sign like this at the Royal Hawaiian! The elevator door is all banged up and the paint is chipped. No decent hotel would have any elevator door look like that.Once out of the banged up elevator, the hallway smells bad - like rotten food. Even before we got to our room some woman who looked like she weighed 500 lbs in a bikini was Facetiming on maximum volume in the laundry room at the end of the hall. Who does this in a hotel? In a public space? The carpet in our room smelled like a old man had peed on it for years or maybe died on it and was lying there for days until they peeled him off it. The walls have zero insulation. You hear everything. Even water running upstairs, toilets flushing. Even the 500 lb woman Facetiming 30 feet away down the hall. The rooms also have a common door between them that makes things even louder. At 11 p.m. people arrived in the room next to ours speaking very loud and we could hear every word they said. We complained. Nothing happened. At midnight someone decided to use the hairdryer. It sounded like a jet engine was 2" from my head on the other side of the wall. We complained and were told we could move to a room with a twin. We realized no matter where we stayed we would get no sleep and probably would be inhaling toxic fumes from the carpet. Early in the morning we checked out and explained the situation. We were told we couldn't get a refund. It would have to be through Hotwire. When I contacted Hotwire they called the hotel who refused a refund. Hotwire then refused the refund. Goodbye Hotwire. You are just as terrible. This was the worst birthday night of my life! This place is not where you would stay for vacation. People on welfare live here. Loud, dirty and annoying people! It is obvious the hotel doesn't do any upgrades or care about people who pay top dollar vs the fixed income welfare people who pay for the month. STAY AWAY because they WON'T REFUND YOU IF YOU WANT TO CHECK OUT. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM LISTING ON TRAVEL WEBSITES. IT IS AN SRO. NOT A VACATION HOTEL. The Eagles need to write a new song: Hotel Ewa You can check in but you can never get a refund!
